QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In circumstances of rape, incest or when the mother’s health is in jeopardy.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

See answers above. Additionally, abortions should not be allowed due to race or gender discrimination or when the baby has tested positive for Down syndrome.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Strongly Agree

Government should remove and reduce burdensome regulations to help create more jobs. Government should get out of way of business and, instead, empower the private sector. This way the the private sector can create new jobs which will ultimately help limit big government and its overreach.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Continue our efforts of tax reform and reduction to allow working families to keep more money. Individuals can decide how to spend their hard-earned money much better than big government.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Government should never be able to close churches except if the physical church building presents a health or safety issue such as structural integrity, habitability issues like no running water for bathroom sanitation, etc.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The state should recognize the freedom of religion and protect churches. The state should remain neutral on religion and not show favor to any one specific religion. The separation between church and state should provide churches protection from government bias and interference and allow them to operate unencumbered.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C - We need a fair and balanced healthcare system just like before the ACS or "Obamacare."

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government has an obligation to develop vaccines and distribute them for the overall healthcare, quality and safety of society. The process to decide on taking a vaccine rest with individuals and their Constitutional rights as Americans.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

Every parent should always have full access to the curriculum and have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Never. Parents should always have the right to speak at a school board meeting within the allotted public comment portion of the Board agenda. School boards should always provide ample time for any and all public comments from any citizen that shows up to speak.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God and that one day I will be at his side in heaven. I believe that the power of prayer can help not only help me navigate good and challenging times but it can help others, too.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We need voter ID laws to make sure that every person who casts their vote is, in fact, his/her true identity.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not believe there is a race-related domestic security issue in the United States. We have criminal laws in place to protect us against those that choose to perform acts of terrorism.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Second amendment rights are guaranteed by the Constitution. We can reduce gun violence in America by addressing mental health with programs that provide early detection and early intervention.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
