OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2010 General Election, 2010 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2012 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2014 Republican Primary, 2016 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am unapologetically pro-life. In the very rare medical case of endangerment of the mother's life, exceptions could be made.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We must vet immigrants, so as to know who is entering the country. We should root out the terrorists here who are training and recruiting and not be afraid to send them out from our country if they intend to harm. We should welcome those who want to be here legally while also keeping out those who want to cause harm to our citizens.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Humans, by nature, will be drawn to power. The Founders carefully designed a system with the three branches of government to provide checks and balances even upon themselves. They saw the danger of a King, and wanted to prevent that kind of autocracy. They also saw the need for a voice for each part of the Union in creating the Electoral College which is a foundational part of this Constitutional Republic.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was born and raised a Christian. I have attended both Presbyterian and Southern Baptist churches. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and my daily devotions are what keep me grounded and positive. We are all called to be evangelists and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Our founders established and envisioned a Christian nation where people would be able to practice their religion freely and w/o restraint from the government. My personal and political views are grounded in the values of my faith, enshrined in me by my parents, my family and my church.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Tort reform. Our doctors are leaving the system at alarming rates due to the increasing costs of liability coverage and the administrative controls levied upon them. With tort reform, lawsuits would not be over the head of every doctor and medical staff person. This brings down costs organically. Prescription drug costs need to be reduced as well, not to the detriment of research but in taking out the costs brought on by Medicare and related government systems. The free market has worked better than any other solution and should be the same in healthcare. This would allow choice to drive choice which will lower the costs overall and for the individual. Additional reforms that could help would be allowing insurance sales across state lines and allowing small businesses and trade associations/professional groups to pool together for purchase.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Get out of the way. I am a free market capitalist. The economy works best with minimal government interaction, regulation and restraint.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

With more than 68,000 pages of tax code, the current setup is impossible for the average citizen to navigate without putting themself at risk. I support efforts and reforms that make the tax code simpler, flatter and fairer for all North Carolinians.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Reduce regulation and taxes to encourage business growth. Unfettered employers create jobs. Reward success and hard work and ensure opportunity for all.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Benefits should be protected for those in retirement or nearing retirement, but we need to look at reformation of the system to make it financially viable for future generations, such as the escalating retirement age for those just now entering the workforce, as many people are choosing to work longer.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a 19-year Realtor®, my business has been built on asking questions, listening to the answers, and then seeking solutions. Homeownership is a cornerstone of the American Dream, and as such must be preserved for all Americans. My life experiences — professionally and personally — have been about solving problems and helping others, including helping more than 1,000 families in District 9 and thousands more all over NC in finding THEIR American Dream. I'm motivated by doing the right thing, regardless of it being the popular thing to do.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am not a career politician. The Founding Fathers intended for citizens to do public service and then return to their homes which is what I intend to do. I feel called to serve at this time to make sure my children have a free market economy where they can be entrepreneurs if they so desire, and own homes to build their own futures. The public discourse needs more convervative, business-friendly women in office.
