16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Man is selfish by nature, and subject to corruption. The Founders felt that three branches of government would allow for no concentration of power in any one of the branches. This needs to be carefully observed currently, as division in one branch is allowing an abuse of power in another branch.
17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.
Agree
18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Constitution, Voters, Congress/Supreme Court. I do not believe that academia, industry, media, and professional sports were meant to have the authority they are currently perceived to have.
19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into Hell. On the third day, He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. My marriage is built around God, my husband and I are also raising our children to understand God and Jesus, grace and forgiveness. I am called to love my neighbor. Not to be a judge. Not to play God. Not to determine if any sins are worse than other sins. God alone is my judge and that of my fellow man.
