16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The desire for power and to be in control is inherent in every human being. Our Founding Fathers understood this and they used this understanding to help them create the framework for our government. This is why they separated the duties of our government into three distinct areas, the Legislative, the Executive, and the Judicial Branches. Each branch has its own respective mission and helps provide the checks and balances that limits the power of each branch that ensures our liberties.
17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and a member of the Falmouth Christian Church. I believe in God, the Bible, and that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. I believe the Bible is the word of God and was written by people inspired by God and guided by his hand. Everyone has a right to believe in what they choose and worship how they choose. However, I do not believe it is acceptable to ignore the Judeo-Christian values, on which this country was founded. The separation of church and state was not intended to allow the non-Christian or religious groups to force their beliefs down ones throats. I believe in leading with the help of Divine Providence, like our Founding Fathers. Also, I believe removing the phrase "Under God" from our pledge or taking the name God off our money would be a detriment to our Civil Liberties. I firmly believe that the separation of Church and State was established to protect the church from an oppressive government, not the government being protected from the pulpit
