15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Mankind is inherently self centered and willing to aggregate power for self alone. Hence, the Founders created a structure that no one person or group could be all in all. This has encouraged us as Americans to cherish unity and come together to make decisions after serious deliberation. The Founders also used this as a foundation for civic equality- every American has a part to play for a greater America.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

(1)National debt- Growing up abroad, I have experienced first hand the effect of unchecked deficit on a nation. Huge deficits essentially wipe out the middle class creating huge socioeconomic disparities and a weak nation. (2)Immigration- I was once an immigrant and being a black conservative, I bring a unique perspective. I believe I can write an immigration bill that can pass. Both sides are not happy with the status quo but so far what we are seeing is both sides playing politics with bills that cannot pass. (3)Veterans- Every politician claims he or she supports the veterans but many of our veterans face poverty and lack of access to healthcare. I believe this is because veteran issues are not politically divisive issue (hence has no political premium). That should not be the case because these men and women fought for our freedom and have liberated many nations.

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Christian and Christianity for me is a way of life; not a doctrine. I ask myself, "what would JESUS do?" or what would he want me to do? I believe in showing compassion to all even when not reciprocated- God shows us all mercy. I also love to lend a helping hand. Most importantly I do not judge others or enjoy their moments of failure for whatever gain, political or not. No one is perfect and I strive never to be seen as a hypocrite.
