QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Nobody has the right to live at the expense of another person. No person should ever be forced to fund the healthcare decisions of another person.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
Competent adults own their own lives. As such, they are entitled to control the circumstances of their death. No person has a right to tell another competent adult what they can do with their body, property, money, or time.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should always be permitted everywhere in cases of rape or the health of the pregnant woman. However, the people who live in local communities such as cities and towns should be allowed to determine when we afford legal rights to unborn babies. I do not favor a one-size-fits-all approach decided either by the federal government or state governments. I have written much more on this subject on my website.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
Nobody has a right to take another person's money for any reason. We should endeavor to raise the living standards of all people by promoting a free economy. People should be encouraged to be voluntarily kind and charitable towards others. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
We should dramatically cut all government spending in all areas. We should also dramatically cut taxes and eliminate all unnecessary regulations to help spur our economy.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We should transition smartly and carefully to lower and eventually eliminate all taxes. We can have a civilized and just society without forcefully taking money from others without their permission. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Neutral
We should strongly protect the rights of religious people to peacefully practice all aspects of their religion while equally strongly protecting the rights of non-religious people to be free from all aspects of religion being imposed on them. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No person or business should ever be forced to engage in business with another person for any reason. People and businesses should always remain free to refuse to trade for any reason at all. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
None. They should be entirely separate from each other. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The government should never be permitted to mandate vaccinations. Competent adults are absolutely in charge of all aspects of their bodies. However, private businesses and private schools should be free to impose whatever rules they choose and the market of their customers and employees will decide whether to patronize or work at those businesses based on their preferences. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
D. The government should not be involved in the healthcare business. Nobody has a right to force others to pay for their healthcare. However, we should encourage people to be voluntarily kind and charitable to others in need. We should carefully transition away from these government programs in as just a manner as possible. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C. The United States military should solely be used to defend the United States and its allies it has previously agreed to defend. We are NOT the world's police force. However, private citizens always remain free to send money or other assistance to victims of aggression worldwide. We should be much more dedicated to pursuing policies of peace worldwide and committed to avoiding all war unless we are attacked or threatened with attack. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
The United States should not be involved in this issue other than assisting to promote peace. Individual people remain free to support whatever policies and send money to support whatever causes they prefer.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
They certainly have the ABILITY to pose such threats. However, they have not currently threatened the United States. We should actively pursue policies of peace with all nations including China. China's economy suffers from many problems including demographic ones. Our best defense against the Chinese Communist Party is to remain the world's largest economy which we can do by cutting spending, taxes, and regulation.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We are always justified in engaging in military action in cases where imminent threats exist. However, we should not be engaging in nation-building around the world.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I favor immigration policies similar to the late 1800s and early 1900s. We must secure our border, but we should allow peaceful people to immigrate. However, immigrants, like everyone else, do not have the right to live at the expense of others. As such, they should not be entitled to any welfare or other social programs. We should streamline amnesty requests, expand work visa programs, and provide a reasonable path to citizenship for law-abiding immigrants in the United States.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Choose not to answer
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
All peaceful people should be allowed to immigrate but all they are entitled to is to peacefully pursue their happiness. No social welfare programs for anyone. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
While the government should never be allowed to discriminate, competent adults should be allowed to discriminate against anyone for any reason. I do not favor legislating morality through the law. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
While racist people exist, and we should attempt to inspire them not to be racist, I do not believe our institutions or the majority of people in the United States are racist.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe we should inspire people to be good humans. I actively promote open-mindedness, tolerance, voluntary kindness, civility, truth, and justice, and building high levels of trust with others to optimize human happiness and well-being while minimizing all suffering. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We should ensure that only people authorized to vote actually vote. I do not view photo identification as an unduly burdensome requirement. I'm committed to open, free, and fair elections.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I favor all efforts to ensure a full, free, fair, and accurate election. I oppose any requirements calculated to discourage authorized voters from voting.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
People are not responsible for the bad or criminal acts of others. Only people who have personally wronged other people should be responsible for restitution.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. Racism, while morally disgusting, is neither widespread nor a threat to our country. Any racism in government should be absolutely prohibited.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
I support the property owner using their property however they prefer so long as they do not trespass any pollution beyond the borders of their property. If they do trespass, they should be responsible for all resulting harm.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I support all laws that prohibit pollution in any form. Pollution is a trespass that should always be prohibited. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
I always support the Live and Let Live position on all issues. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
www.LiveandLetLive.org www.AttorneysForFreedom.com
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
We need an entirely different approach to politics. I do not fit into any preconceived notion of traditional politics. I do not seek to import any of my personal views on any issue into the law. We need a basic standard of conduct that prohibits all people from aggressing in any way against others for any reason including moral ones. All morality should be removed from the law. Let's encourage people simply to be good humans. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
Police officers should be subject to liability exactly as everyone else. No exceptions. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Choose not to answer
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Competent responsible adults have a right to both keep and bear arms. They should only be prohibited from gun ownership in the cases of past violent felonies, mental incompetence, or technical incompetence that renders them a substantial risk to others. I favor expanded background checks and competency testing for certain weapons, but this should never be used as a ruse to ban guns. Guns are tools that can be used for either good or bad purposes. We should not demonize guns. I have written much more about this subject on my website. See www.LiveandLetLiveRevolution.com
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Like everyone else, gun dealers and manufacturers should never be liable unless they have actually done something negligent. As with car manufacturers, they should not be liable when people use their products for criminal purposes.
