Merry Christmas!
All of us at iVoterGuide are so grateful that you are part of our family, and we hope this time is special and meaningful for you and your family.
I personally pray that you are blessed with the joy of knowing the Lord this Christmas, whether this season has been easy or difficult. I would love to encourage you with a special passage of Scripture. It’s a prophecy of Isaiah roughly 700 years before that silent night in Bethlehem. We can rejoice in the Lord today knowing:
“…every
boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult
and
every garment rolled in blood
will
be burned as fuel for the fire.
For
to us a child is born,
to
us a son is given;
and
the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and
his name shall be called
Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace.
Of
the increase of his government and of peace
there
will be no end,
on
the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to
establish it and to uphold it
with
justice and with righteousness
from
this time forth and forevermore.
The
zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”
- Isaiah 9:5-7 (emphasis mine)
What an amazing truth! While we experience the constant struggle to uphold justice and righteousness right now, Jesus’ government will increase in peace without end. He will establish and uphold it forever when He returns to reign on Earth.
How can we be sure He will fulfill this? Because He has already fulfilled part of the prophecy. The good news of Christmas is that when our sins separated us from God (Isaiah 59:2), His Son took on human flesh as our perfect representative. He is the Son who was given for us, humbling Himself to be born of a virgin. He lived righteously in our place, and willingly died as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. He removes the separation between us and God forever when we simply believe in Him alone as Lord and Savior.
“All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” - Acts 10:43
If God gave us His Son to move the immovable mountain of our sin, I am confident He is able to fulfill the rest of Isaiah’s prophecy at the right time. Not only that, but He is able to give us abundant grace to love and obey Him today. (Romans 8:32) He has called us to be His beloved children and ambassadors on Earth.
Thank you for partnering with us in the work of His kingdom. May grace and peace be yours in abundance as you rejoice in the Lord’s present salvation and look forward to His righteous reign!
