Celebrate our Living, Active Savior!

The resurrection of Jesus answers the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14) It has me thinking about the song, “Way Maker.”

You are here

Light in the darkness

That is who you are

Jesus’ resurrection not only enables us to celebrate what God has done for us, but what He is doing right now. We serve a living and active Savior! I see Him working in my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters in Christ, helping us look more like Him as we walk by faith. In addition, without His resurrection and active influence, iVoterGuide would not even exist.

I also see Him moving in our country, taking many people from death to life as they place their trust in Him for salvation. Although our nation looks more and more like the valley of dry bones the prophet Ezekiel saw, doesn’t God raise the dead? He physically raised Jesus from the grave. He spiritually raised me when I was dead in my sin (Ephesians 2:5). He does this for anyone who places their faith in Him. And He hasn’t stopped.

Think about all of history leading up to the cross. The magnitude of humanity’s sin didn’t make God back down from His promise to send us a Savior. Instead, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead …” (1 Peter 1:3)

The magnitude of how far our country has strayed from Judeo-Christian values—and the terrible consequences of that—should grieve us, but not dissuade us from our calling. The lyrics in the bridge of “Way Maker” give me hope:

"Even when I don't see it, you're working.
Even when I don't feel it, you're working.
You never stop, You never stop working!"

Does the darkness discourage us? Jesus called us the light of the world. Do we feel like sheep in the midst of wolves? Our Good Shepherd does not abandon us. Have we failed Him and feel condemned? Jesus died for us, rose for us, and is interceding for us at this very moment.

Dear friend, He truly is a Way Maker. He IS working, and so must we!

This Easter, I pray that the remembrance that we serve a living Lord will renew and refresh your faith. Christ is risen; He is risen indeed!

Several of our staff compiled an Easter worship music playlist to bless you. We pray it encourages you to keep running the race as we look to our Savior!
