At iVoterGuide, we exist because of the foundational belief that well-researched candidates give voters the confidence they need to make their voices heard in the voting booth. Our comprehensive research serves all voters—no matter their position on issues. Our goal is to provide only truth.
Our team of researchers and volunteers spends countless hours evaluating candidates, their financial ties, their endorsements, and the voting records of incumbent legislators because these are the primary indicators for how candidates will most likely govern. Secondarily, we evaluate their campaign website and social media, their response to our candidate questionnaire, and news and media reported about them—also important data points.
In 2025 we are researching and evaluating approximately 1,600 candidates in more than 600 races . . . and that’s in a “non-election” year (a year without federal elections)!
Of special note are the Virginia and New Jersey elections, which include statewide and state legislative candidates, the New York City mayoral election, and California redistricting—all of which are drawing nationwide media attention. Check the list below to see if we’re covering anything on your ballot for elections coming up this fall!

What About Elections NOT Covered by iVoterGuide?
While we don’t have the manpower to cover every race on your ballot, we want to equip you with tools that will help you do this work on your own. Check out this article for more information on researching your candidates when iVoterGuide doesn’t have the bandwidth. The most important step is to find your sample ballot, so you know WHOM to research. As you dig for information, you’ll gain insight into the work our researchers do every day!
If you want to learn even more about researching candidates, we encourage you to consider volunteering as an iVoterGuide panelist. In that role, you’ll be trained on how to thoroughly research candidates according to our metric and participate in evaluating candidates for our rating system. For more information about serving on our panel, visit our website.
What about my school board? Many people have asked if iVoterGuide would consider covering their school board election. We address that question in our iVoterGuide FAQs and encourage you to start by sharing iVoterGuide with your friends and family. We use several factors to decide which districts are the best use of the resources God has entrusted to us. You can tell us more information about your district by completing a few questions on this form, which we will use in determining what we will cover in future election cycles.
