QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Agree
I do not feel it should be a part of academics in a public school. It can be subjective, divisive and should not be considered part of the curriculum in K-12 schools.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
First of all, I cannot stress enough that in all cases one should always show sympathy to the mother. In regard to the baby: all life is precious and, by that, I mean it has an intrinsic value and dignity that should not and cannot be determined by circumstance--even the most tragic. In the case of incest or rape, so much depends on the mother. There should be outrage at the violence of such acts and punishment to suit the crime, but the answer should not be to answer the violence of rape with the violence of abortion. The woman's well-being (mental, physical, emotional, etc.) is in a state of intensity that should be met with equal if not more intense love and understanding. The important thing is not to treat the resulting life as a curse or burden. There are many instances of people born from violent circumstances who lead edifying and successful lives because they were given the chance. Mothers by nature make incredible sacrifices for their children. It may be that adoption is the course worth considering but the right thing will always be to nurture both lives.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Neutral
Agree: Marriage is a Holy Sacrament between one man and one woman, and it is defined by God our creator, not by Government. If we allow Govt' to define what marriage is or isn't, then it can define anything as a marriage. God defines a marriage, not Government. It is one man and one woman. We need to recognize this.
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Neutral
I feel that it would be a good basic common law to place in public places, such as a public school, if, a local school and community wanted it there. I do not see the harm in it being posted in a court house. Our sovereign rights come from God and they pre-existed our current Government. It should be up to the individuals and taxpayers within that community. Not mandated by the Government or removed by the Government. It should be left to the will of the people to decide.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
If they are being challenged and taught something that goes against their own virtues, morals and faith. A student should have a thoughtful discussion and be able to speak freely about why they thoughtfully disagree. Students absorb more, if they are able to speak and discern right from wrong in their beliefs. I do not feel their thoughts should be tracked and data mined for thinking differently than their peers. It is called education.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
It takes more than a strong military. The military must help secure our own borders. We should be energy independent. The US should have a plethora of food resources, an abundance of farmlands, less Govt' overreach on our farmers, and we should not be solely dependent on any other foreign entities. A strong economy comes from a free market. A free market fosters individual freedom and reduces dependency which just puts us deeper in debt and gives us less freedoms over time.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
All men are created equal, but we are not guaranteed equal outcomes.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I feel that the the funding should come from the local communities with oversight of locally elected controlled school boards K-12. As for the colleges, the money should come from the student earning the degree, loans that they are responsible to pay back or through earned scholarships. Federal money flows through the states and into colleges through grants or by other means. The less federal involvement of academics and overall education the more oversight an individual has over their tax dollars. There would be more freedom and liberty, less bureaucracy, more individualism and there is a better opportunity for offering transparency for all.
EDUCATION
Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and the use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.
Strongly Disagree
Common core standard assessments measure a student's worth or value. Society should never be putting a value on a human being.
iVoterGuide Notes:
The candidate added: "Each state should establish its own standards. Common Core effectively created national standards, suppressing the authority and sovereignty of each state. As well, states should not be mandating standardized test taking."
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
They already have the right to direct their child's education in the state of KS. We have unalienable rights. We don't need the Govt' directing our child's education. We choose the direction and how we want them to be educated, even in the public schools. If we choose to not attend public schools where we pay our local tax dollars, we need to do so without public money, or tax dollars following the child.
Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Strongly Agree
Parents have the unalienable right to decline their child being taught CSE and SEL. It would be great if schools didn’t try to circumvent that right and instead supported that right by fully informing and seeking parental consent. If it is technology based, a form of counseling other than academic, a survey or even an assembly. The Contract is with the parent and the school, not the child and the school.
I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
Strongly Disagree
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
We spend more money complying to a federal requirement that may work against or harm students further. I feel the best transparency is to keep the dollars local and have a community and tax payers who share the common responsibility of offering a local education with strong academics for our youth and not relying on money from the Federal Government, which is far removed from any local control.
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Strongly Agree
If we don't allow them to carry for their own protection, and use their second amendment right, then we are deciding who can exercise it and who cannot.
iVoterGuide Notes:
The candidate added: "Making schools gun free zones infringes an individual’s right to keep and bear arms as protected by the 2nd Amendment. Additionally, hasn’t this resulted in the creation of places more susceptible to adults and children being injured or killed?"
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Do you support mandatory vaccinations for children attending public school?
No, I do not. that is a private matter and should not be a requirement of the school. Any records of that should be held confidential with the doctor or a provider covered by HIPPA, not in a school building.
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Disagree
Once again, this should never be mandated.

VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
It is the basis of American history and what this country was founded on.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
