QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
As a father of three children, I am Pro Life. As a Congressman, I will take a stand against any federal funding of abortion and uphold the Hyde Amendment.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Did not answer
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
My aim is to empower people by keeping money in their own pockets, as opposed to expecting that the government will spend it wisely (which it rarely does). I will advocate for federal tax regulation and civil service reforms.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
I am fiscally conservative and agree the government should reduce spending. Furthermore, taxpayer dollars should be judiciously spent to benefit Americans first. We should not be printing more money to make up for gross incompetence or corruption, nor should we be sending significant funds overseas without cleaning up our house first.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Taxes should be reduced across the board to stimulate the economy and incentivize industry. Historically, whenever taxes are lowered, there is greater revenue into the US Treasury due to a corresponding energization of the economy.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
It is gross government overreach and unconstitutional to force an individual or business to violate their moral and/or religious beliefs. I will protect the rights of the individual as laid out in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I will not support any legislation that violates the Constitution or extends the reach of the government at the expense of the individual.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Individuals have an inherent right to bodily sovereignty and should always have the final say as to what is put in one's body.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
We want every Coloradan to have access to superb healthcare. We want the best doctors and practitioners to flock to Colorado. For that, we need a competitive health care system that is both affordable and efficient. Unfortunately, nothing the government does is ever affordable, efficient or done well. Thus, we need to reform health care by removing present drains on the system, as well as increasing competition within the marketplace to drive down costs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
Like President Reagan, President Trump demonstrated that strength and the judicious, precise use of force leads to sustained peace. The American military should not be the world police force, though a global presence is necessary at times to dissuade bad actors. War should always be a last resort. Peace through strength is my guiding foreign policy principle.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I have spent extensive time working in Israel and have many dear friends, Jewish and Muslim, living in this amazing country. It is a first-world, beautiful nation where Jews and Muslims coexist peacefully. It is a model for the rest of the Middle East. Israel is our ally and we will protect her from nations openly trying to destroy her. The Abraham Accords demonstrated how peace may be made and sustained between Israel and neighbors.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
It is the Federal government’s responsibility to keep our country secure from external threats. This means secure borders with effective processes to manage legal immigration. A wall is an effective means of deterrence and should be coupled with a well-resourced Border Patrol agency utilizing advanced monitoring technology.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those attempting to enter our country illegally are not bad people but are simply seeking a better life with greater opportunities for their families. We must treat them with compassion. However, the solution is not to rob Peter to pay Paul. We do not have the resources to help all people world-over. Attempting to do so robs from the American people and gives false hope to immigrants. We must first provide Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness to all Americans, then we can help other countries transition to economies that create (rather than destroy) opportunities. Our country represents a phenomenal opportunity to become one’s best self; let us not destroy the reasons people are trying so hard to get here.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Every one of us wants every child to have the best education possible, in an environment which focuses on merit and character, not the color of one’s skin or superficial differences. An education that develops wisdom and personal responsibility rather than a victim mentality. Education should be grounded in solid psychological principles. I am absolutely against curriculum which distorts America’s history or distinguishes people based on superficial differences.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. My faith is very deeply studied and practiced and is of the utmost importance to me. I pray every day. However, I will stand for everyone's religious freedom regardless of faith (or lack thereof) and will never proselytize from a political office.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
It is essential that a Republic have secure elections where each vote counts equally. We want elections where voters find it easy to vote and hard to cheat. Voter ID is a must and not an onerous requirement (a person needs an ID for nearly everything else). We must eliminate ballot harvesting and ensure there is no room for external tampering in our elections. Only US citizens should be allowed to vote.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I am completely against the federalization of elections. I am also against abolishing the electoral college as a pure democracy disenfranchises minorities.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
The Oil and Natural Gas industry is one of the most significant contributors to the Colorado economy. It employs thousands of high paying jobs, many of which are from small businesses. Oil and Natural Gas contributes significant funds to open space preservation around the state. Strangling Oil and Natural Gas production is reflected in the price of gasoline at the pump. US energy companies produce oil and natural gas more safely, sustainably and cleanly than any others in the world.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I love the state of Colorado with all its natural beauty and grandeur. I will protect Colorado’s lakes, rivers, and streams, land, and air. We must effectively manage our forests so that we do not have to fear destructive wildfires. We can protect the environment with smart regulations without throttling industry and productivity.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Our government officials are elected to serve the American people first. This does not mean harming another country or putting the welfare of the global community last. In fact, good governance that empowers the United States and her citizens benefits all countries. I will always put Colorado and our country first.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
Law enforcement exists to serve and protect the people, not to simply enforce laws. We need to restore the respect and integrity of our police forces and restore the American people’s trust in police. As I learned in my own combat situations in the military, police must be able to make swift decisions in violent situations without hesitation. Top-notch training and screening processes for law enforcement personnel are essential, coupled with qualified immunity.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
We must also resource law enforcement to keep American citizens safe. Violent crimes should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That being said, we must treat contributing factors to crime such as drug addiction and homelessness which are often rooted in mental illness. I support resourcing mental health programs, but not at the expense of funding law enforcement.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Everyone has an inherent, unalienable right to defend themselves. And we know criminals will always find a way to possess guns. Yet, there are those who want to completely disarm our society while they simultaneously move to de-fund law enforcement. We must not only ask why but refuse to give up our ability to defend ourselves. The facts speak for themselves–firearm ownership is proven to deter crime. I will stand resolutely for our right to bear arms. Colorado has a spirit of independence and self-governance, and the Second Amendment is a key component of maintaining our individual freedoms.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
