OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortions should always be allowed in cases of rape and/or incest. In many other cases it depends on the young lady's physical and mental status.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I am not running for a National office, so I can't speak to trillions of dollars in debt. At the state level, I would not want to destroy one program for the sake of another. Smaller cuts across the board would be better than huge cuts to one area, at least until the Corona pandemic has passed.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Disagree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

No Answer

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Our forefathers set our constitution with that very thing in mind. They gave us the freedom to choose whatever church we wanted and to pray in our own ways, free from criticism or intervention. They also meant, however, that religion should not become a part of any government program. I pray before my school day begins, but I cannot force my students to pray. I hope the members of our legislature pray individually before they begin a session, but they should never bring their beliefs into legislation they are considering.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

My main concern is more about changing the system as it now exists. Insurance companies make billions of dollars a tear because health care coverage is so expensive. I would like to mandate caps on the amount of premiums insurance companies can charge in order to make insurance in its current form is affordable for the middle class. I would also like to see caps put in place for prescription drug costs. Those costs should not drive Americans to the brink of bankruptcy. Americans should not have to choose between their prescriptions and paying for food and utilities.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As long as they are legal, law-abiding citizens with no criminal backgrounds, I see no problem.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have been a member of the Methodist Church my entire life. I believe in the Wesleyan doctrines. I believe in the Golden Rule and treating others fairly. Judge not lest ye be judged is a quote I strive to follow.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I do believe we need a strong foreign policy. However, it does not mean a policy based on fear. Diplomacy and humanity need to be at the front of our foreign policy. On immigration, our forefathers came to this country to escape religious persecution and terrible living conditions. The majority of those entering now are trying to escape the same things and to make better lives for their children.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My experience came from working for two years at the Missouri Department of Education. In that time I had to speak before a House committee on an issue. Even though this committee had all the background needed on the topic, they had absolutely no idea what the topic concerned. At that point I realized many of our elected officials either do not know about information for the committees they serve on, or they just do not care.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Absolutely not.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Mainly that I have a voice for the moderate. It is going to take cool heads working across the aisles to bring our state, and our country, back together. Common sense in radical times can help issues be solved more easily.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Missouri once had a system of certification and registration for concealed carry or open carry. I think it should be brought back. Then, if someone is caught carrying a hand gun without certification, the gun could be immediately confiscated. Most of our trouble in Missouri has not been from rifles, but from hand guns in the inner cities.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Guaranteeing full funding for education at a set level. 2. Stopping the sale of Missouri land to foreign countries. 3. Increasing funding for infrastructure for state and county roads and bridges. 4. Bringing certification and registration back for concealed carry and open carry of hand guns.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Systemic racism is still a huge problem in this country. The only problem with domestic security is the conditions most minority people have to live in. They are not given equal pay for equal work. The "War on Drugs" has targeted them and has put an inordinate percentage in prison for minor offenses. Health care is too costly for many. Schools in inner cities are in terrible condition and are under staffed. Civil unrest is caused by these inequalities. We must take action.
