Served 8 years on the Lee County Economic Development Board. The last 2 years as Chairman. Secured $4.5 million for new airport for Lee County in the last 2 years. Secured $ 250,000 for Southern Lee's Athletic field, $500,000 for Central Carolina Community College.Currently serve as Chair of House Community College, Chair of Education Appropriations Committee,Vice Chair full Appropriations Committee and many other Appropriations during my 11 years of public office. I voted for every bill including the born alive bill that protects life. I spent 26 years preaching the gospel of hope. I have seen miracles, marriages saved, drug addicts and alcoholics delivered and become productive citizens, lives changed.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have been a successful businessman as a manager of a trucking company leading it to a 300% increase in revenue. Pastored a church that grew in attendance from 35 to over 700 a week in attendance with 7 full time employees. Currently serving as a member of the NC General Assembly. Served 4 years as a County Commissioner and on my 7th year in the General Assembly. Attended Wayne Community College, Heritage Bible College( received an Honary Doctorate) and received manage development training at Notre Dame University.

I am married to Mardie Merritt Sauls. We are blessed with three children all married with four children between them. All are christians and their spouses.
