QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

Although I concur that human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death, I contend that the legal protection society provides for a developing embryo can be superseded by the will of the mother.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Choose not to answer

I will have to look into this because I have no knowledge about this topic.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

An elective abortion should be allowed in accordance with the uncoerced will of the mother.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Strongly Agree

This should be on a voluntary basis.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

The government must reduce its military spending. Space exploration spending needs to be reduced until we alleviate, to the best of our ability, our societal needs.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

The government should not force people to provide services if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs, but as a multicultural society we should do whatever we can to understand why someone would want a certain service from us. Also, the person asking for the service should consider our desire not to accommodate them.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Separation of church and state" means to me that no government entity or official can coerce any citizen to practice the dictates of any religion.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Neutral

Currently, I am neutral on the statement that The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States because I am not privy to the information needed to come to that conclusion.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States' relationship with Israel and every other society in the world is important because we all live on the same planet and should peacefully interact with each other.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Agree

Any type of terrorism is a threat. Our government must do everything in their power to understand the reason a group would commit terrorist acts towards us and act to alleviate the reason.

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I agree with the words in the poem that is located on a plaque on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty; "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!". In other words we should allow immigration to those in need, but we should also make sure we are not taken advantage of. I also agree with work related visas to an extent.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Disagree

We need to clean up our immigration policies so that undocumented persons have a far chance of explaining themselves in court.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Neutral

There is a role for a federal department of education. One role they play is ensuring that the education standards are similar in each state so that if a student moves from one state to another their educational progress will be similar to the students in their new home state.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

This is a difficult question for me to answer because I have a very strong trust that my god will protect me. Therefore I do not own a gun and I wish everyone would trust their god to protect them and also not own a gun. But as an elected official I would not restrict gun ownership.
