QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Choose not to answer
A person should have legal protection and autonomy to care for their health and wellbeing, including mothers.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Emotional support through counseling system, connect students to medical care as needed, protect educational access for the student.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Choose not to answer
Forgiveness does shift costs to non-borrowers, but framing it as 'unfair' ignores who created the problem. Predatory lending practices and misleading marketing from loan servicers drove much of this debt. If anyone should bear costs beyond the borrower, it should be those who profited from deceptive lending, via clawbacks or penalties, not blanket taxpayer-funded forgiveness alone.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Public education at all ages is a public service resulting in public good. An educated and informed public is a community that better serves one another and that domino effect reaches all levels of society.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
No person's faith should be promoted at the expense of another.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Agree
I believe we should lean on organizations that have built a structure to safely care for the communities they serve to be accessible to their communities. School district staff have responsibilities that may not fully align with healthcare needs and opportunities as broadly as a provider like Planned Parenthood, for example.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Agree
Consequences have a broad range of impact, and understanding cause and effect for all levels of development can support the individual's opportunities for success in the future. There is also a limit to what consequences can look like in a number of situations.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Neutral
For the sake of history, one must learn where we have been to contribute thoughtfully to the future. We must acknowledge the history as it was, not for what we wish it to have been. It is then up to the individual to determine how they feel about that past. Their motivations to who they become as adults starts with an honest reality.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
The resources and funding lost with a blanket statement about eliminating the DoE is horrific. Guidance benefits a variety of school systems to help align our society toward a general goal. That doesn't mean it's perfect, but at least we are headed in a more unified direction with support together to also meet our partners internationally on a similar level.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Sexual education should include these topics: abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development + average costs of pregnancy and post-natal care through 36 months, not limited to generalized products recommended for use at home to support childhood care + childcare expenses.
It is discriminatory for a school district to cause academically eligible students to forfeit participation in U.I.L. competition when the student opts for instruction outside of the public school system.
Neutral
I think it is a reasonable boundary that participation is tied to the shared obligations of enrollment. Grades tracked by the school, discipline policies, daily attendance, coaching relationships built over a season all relate to the student's relation to the program. Non-enrolled students opting in only for the extracurriculars can also crowd roster spots or create accountability gaps. In the professional world, if you opt out of a career role you don't get to still opt in to their benefits.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Choose not to answer
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Did not answer
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Neutral
All people who struggle with mental & general health conditions deserve the right to be treated. That starts by identifying the condition for what it is, not what we want it to be.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Choose not to answer
All books have value, or else they wouldn't have been written.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I think it's reasonable to expect someone to "declare" who they are, when it is generally required to possess a form of ID in my jurisdiction. However, voter identification is not also accompanied on the standard ID card, nor is it always accessible to all people who face financial insecurity or go unhoused. To require something like photo ID to participate as an active citizen (voting) is also to charge an individual a tangible cost beyond the time taken to appear to participate.
