QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
The health and safety of the mother's life must also be considered.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Within the limits of district policy and state law, the school should make sure the student is safe, informed, supported, and not alone, but should not interfere with a student's decisions. The safety and well being of the student needs to remain the focus. If the student is in danger, experiencing coercion, abuse, or medical distress, the school should follow mandatory reporting and emergency protocols. While respecting privacy, the school can refer the student to the school counselor, nurse, social worker, or other trained personnel who can provide confidential support within legal limits. Most importantly, school should help the student stay enrolled and succeed academically.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
Student loan forgiveness shifts the burden onto taxpayers, including those who did not attend college, already repaid their loans, or who made different financial choices to avoid debt. Upon entering higher education institutions, it is up to the student to determine a course of study that will allow for meaningful employment post-graduation. I do support programs that forgive portions of loans through public service because it asks borrowers to contribute years of service that benefit society.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government has a responsibility to fund public education because an educated population benefits the entire society, not just individual students. Whether students attend college, join the military, or begin working directly, a quality education builds the foundation for citizenship. Basic education should not depend on income or zip code. College preparation and workforce training expand long-term opportunity and strengthen the economy.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, “separation of church and state” in public schools means that schools should not promote, favor, or require participation in any religion, while also protecting students’ individual rights to religious expression. I believe schools should focus on the academic basics of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, and leave religious conversations to families. As someone in favor of parental rights, I believe that extends to religious education.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Agree
ICE serves an important public safety role when it focuses on enforcing immigration laws fairly, protecting communities from genuine threats, and respecting due process for all individuals.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
If a student is facing a health crisis, pregnancy, abuse, mental health concern, or identity-related distress, the school should connect the student with qualified counselors, nurses, parents or guardians when appropriate, and lawful medical or community resources. The school’s role should be to support student safety and wellbeing without promoting one controversial viewpoint or bypassing family involvement and district oversight. All this must be done following state law and district policy.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Consequences for bad behavior are necessary to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, but they should be fair, consistent, age-appropriate, and paired with support that helps students learn better choices. Disruptive students should not be allowed to interfere with the learning of others in the classroom. Students learn best in environments where expectations are clear, behavior is managed, and everyone feels safe.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Schools should provide students with a thorough understanding of America’s founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and other key civic texts. Teaching these documents helps students understand the principles, rights, responsibilities, and debates that shaped the nation. Educators can encourage informed patriotism: rooted in knowledge of the nation’s principles, appreciation for civic responsibility, and honest reflection.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
Any shift away from federal oversight should protect students’ civil rights, ensure transparency in funding, and maintain support for students with disabilities, low-income students, and other vulnerable populations. Education policy is most effective when decisions are made closer to the students being served, because local leaders better understand the needs, values, and priorities of their own communities. Reducing federal control could allow schools more flexibility and limit bureaucracy.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I support age-appropriate sexual education in public schools, but it should be medically accurate, respectful of family values, transparent to parents, and focused on student safety, health, and responsibility. I do not support instruction that focuses on sex acts or the pleasures of sex in a public school setting, especially for minors. Any discussion of sexual behavior should be limited to health, consent, risks, boundaries, and responsibility.
It is discriminatory for a school district to cause academically eligible students to forfeit participation in U.I.L. competition when the student opts for instruction outside of the public school system.
Neutral
While it could be viewed as discriminatory for a school district to deny academically eligible students the opportunity to participate in U.I.L. competition solely because they receive instruction outside the public school system, students not enrolled in public school do not contribute to the funding the school receives from the state according to attendance. Additionally, charter, private and homeschools are not held to the same standards as public schools making equal eligibility rules hard.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts, Math, Science, American History, Civics, Information Technology, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Personal Finance, Vocational Learning
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
Public schools should focus first on academic excellence while also building the character, civic knowledge, and personal responsibility needed to preserve American traditions and constitutional self-government.
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Disagree
I disagree with the idea that school choice necessarily improves public schools through competition. Public schools serve all students, and diverting funds away from them weakens the very schools that most families still rely on. Competition alone does not guarantee better outcomes, especially when schools do not operate under the same rules, obligations, or accountability standards.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
As a former athlete and the mother of a female athlete, I will protect girls in sports by supporting and enforcing policies that keep girls’ athletic teams based on biological sex, consistent with Texas law. Female athletes deserve fair competition, equal opportunity, safety, privacy, and the ability to compete on a level playing field. Similarly, any space designed to be female only should follow biological sex.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Catholic. My values are rooted in faith, humility, service, and personal responsibility. I believe people should treat one another with dignity, compassion, and honesty, while recognizing that each person has worth and purpose. My values emphasize family, community, integrity, gratitude, forgiveness, and helping others. I also believe public service should be guided by moral character, respect for others, and a commitment to doing what is right even when it is difficult.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Agree
Government should recognize parents as the primary decision-makers in their children’s health and education, while also ensuring that every child is protected, safe, and given access to a quality education. Public institutions should work in partnership with parents, not in place of them, except in situations where a child’s safety or legal rights are at risk.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
I believe people should be judged by their character, actions, and values, not by race or skin color.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
I believe marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman, rooted in faith, tradition, and the family structure. While government may regulate the legal aspects of marriage, I do not believe it has the authority to change the essential meaning of marriage as understood through religious conviction and longstanding tradition.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Agree
Students experiencing serious mental health concerns, including anorexia or gender dysphoria, should be treated with compassion and evidence-based care rather than automatic affirmation without professional evaluation.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Disagree
I support removing harmful materials from school property through a clear and timely review process. Parents should be able to trust that school materials are age appropriate and suitable for students. Material should not be allowed simply because it is labeled educational if it would otherwise be considered harmful to minors.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Requiring a photo identification protects the integrity of elections by ensuring that each voter is who they claim to be. Citizens require a photo ID for almost everything else done in society from visiting a doctor, applying for benefits, employment, and traveling, so it is reasonable to expect more voters to have one.

Conservative
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Choose not to answer
While I support the second amendment, I have mixed emotions about weapons on school property outside of a safety officer's control.
