QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
I support protecting human life, but I believe legal exceptions must be made for cases of rape or incest, as well as when there are severe health risks or life-threatening complications for the mother, or fatal medical conditions regarding the unborn child.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Schools should focus on providing reasonable academic accommodations to ensure the student can safely stay on track and complete their education. This includes offering flexible scheduling, remote learning options, medical leave, and access to school counseling.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Agree
I believe in the the majority of circumstances individuals should be personally responsible for their own debt, and that asking non-borrowers to cover those costs is financially unfair to taxpayers
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government funding at the federal, state, and local levels is essential to ensuring every student receives a quality education regardless of zip code. Robust public funding helps bridge resource gaps and balance out funding inequities created by relying heavily on local property taxes. While primary control should remain local, state and federal investment helps ensure equal access, adequate facilities, and necessary classroom resources for all students.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
While the school as an institution cannot promote religion, students retain their personal First Amendment rights. Students are allowed to pray individually or in voluntary groups, read religious texts on their own time, or wear religious clothing/symbols, as long as it does not disrupt the educational environment.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Neutral
As a local school board candidate, my focus is strictly on local education policy, student achievement, and school safety. Federal enforcement agency policies fall outside the scope of school board oversight and are the responsibility of federal lawmakers and agencies. If U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are able to identify felons and criminals for deporation than this should be supported.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
While access to healthcare resources is important, sensitive medical and social decisions belong primarily within the family structure. Schools should remain focused on academic achievement while maintaining standard school nursing services, leaving specialized external health consultations to parents and individual families.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Agree
I agree that consistent consequences and structure are essential for a safe, productive classroom. However, discipline must be paired with support—especially for students with behavioral disabilities or special needs. We must ensure schools have adequate social services, mental health resources, and individualized intervention plans to address underlying causes while maintaining order for everyone.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Neutral
Students must be thoroughly educated in America's founding documents, principles, and history so they can become informed, critical-thinking citizens. However, patriotism is an individual belief and personal choice that develops naturally through knowledge and understanding, rather than something that should be mandated or explicitly taught.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Disagree
While local control allows communities to tailor education to their specific needs, complete elimination of the federal department could lead to severe disparities between states. Many local districts lack the resources to handle full oversight independently. A strong federal presence helps ensure equal access, civil rights protections, minimum quality standards, and adequate funding for lower-income communities.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Sexual education should cover essential health, biological, and safety fundamentals: • Human anatomy & reproductive system • Abstinence • Contraceptive methods • Consent & bodily autonomy • Physical & emotional health outcomes (STIs, healthy relationships) • Stages of pregnancy & fetal development
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
1. Mathematics Language Arts Science Vocational Learning American History Civics Information Technology Personal Finances Physical Fitness Art & Music Foreign Language 12. Social Emotional Learning
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Neutral
I support prioritizing high academic standards, strong character, and civic education. However, 'American traditions' should be understood as our core constitutional principles—such as individual liberty, equal opportunity, and democratic self-governance—rather than a single cultural or ideological perspective.
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Disagree
Competition only works fairly when all institutions operate under the same rules. Unlike public schools, private and charter schools often have different accountability standards, selective admission processes, and fewer mandates to serve students with special needs, which can siphon critical resources away from traditional public education.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Disagree
Single-sex spaces and women's athletic categories were established to ensure fairness, privacy, and safety based on biological realities. While all individuals deserve respect and dignity, maintaining clear, biologically based standards in competitive sports and private facilities like locker rooms and shelters is essential to protecting opportunities and privacy rights for female athletes and women.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe personal faith and spiritual beliefs are deeply private matters. In a public office, my role is to serve, respect, and represent all members of our community regardless of their religious or non-religious backgrounds. My core values—integrity, accountability, fairness, and dedicated public service—guide my work and commitment to our local schools.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Neutral
Parents have the primary right and responsibility to guide their children's education and health decisions. However, the government has a compelling interest in stepping in under extraordinary circumstances—such as when a child is denied necessary, life-saving medical care, or when public health and community safety are directly threatened. Outside of these rare exceptions, parental authority must be respected.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s vision of a colorblind society where every individual is judged solely by their character, merit, and conduct. True equality means treating every person as an individual created equal, rather than defining people by their race or group identity.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Choose not to answer
The legal and religious definitions of marriage are outside the constitutional scope and statutory responsibility of a local school board. As a candidate, my focus remains strictly on local educational policy, academic standards, student safety, fiscal responsibility, and supporting our district's families and staff.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Choose not to answer
School board members are not medical professionals and that medical or psychological diagnoses and treatment protocols belong strictly in the hands of qualified healthcare providers, parents, and individual families.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Disagree
I do not support automatic legal exemptions. Instead, determining whether books with educational or literary value belong in school libraries should be handled locally by a balanced review committee of educators, parents, and community members to ensure age appropriateness and transparency.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
While election laws are established at the state level rather than by local school boards, I strongly believe that voter identity verification is fundamental to election integrity. Requiring voters to validate their identity with documentation ensures secure, fair, and transparent elections for all citizens.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
Choose not to answer
What political party are you affiliated with?
Independent, non-partisan
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
Broad ideological labels oversimplify complex local issues. As an independent, non-partisan candidate, I approach district governance pragmatically—evaluating every issue individually based on student success, fiscal responsibility, and community input rather than partisan politics.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Disagree
As a former teacher, I am deeply committed to keeping our schools safe. However, introducing firearms into classrooms creates additional risks and distractions. School security should be handled strictly by trained law enforcement officers, such as School Resource Officers, rather than educators. Teachers must be free to focus on educating and supporting students while professional security personnel protect our campuses.
