QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Disagree
I believe every human life has inherent value and deserves dignity and protection. However, I do not believe the government should establish legal personhood before birth or impose a blanket legal framework that removes a woman's ability to make decisions about her pregnancy.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe embryos created through assisted reproductive technology should be granted separate legal rights that could interfere with fertility treatment or reproductive decision making.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Elective abortion should be allowed when a woman, in consultation with her medical provider, determines that continuing the pregnancy is not the right choice for her. Government should not criminalize women or doctors for making these deeply personal medical decisions. I support reasonable medical standards and protections for patient safety, while preserving access to abortion, particularly when the pregnancy threatens the woman’s health or life, results from rape or incest, or involves severe
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
I do not support using taxpayer dollars to directly fund abortion. However, I support public funding for essential reproductive and preventive health services... including contraception, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, and other healthcare, regardless of whether the provider also offers abortion services. Funding should be directed toward the healthcare service being provided, not based solely on the identity of the provider.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential components of a strong and productive economy. At the same time, government has a responsibility to establish fair rules, protect workers and consumers, prevent monopolies and corporate abuse, and ensure that economic growth benefits working families and local communities.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Agree
Those who have benefited most from our economy and have the greatest ability to pay should contribute more. Our tax system should provide meaningful relief to working families while ensuring that corporations and the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share. No one should be forced to choose between paying taxes and affording housing, healthcare, food, or other basic necessities.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
The government should reduce wasteful and unnecessary spending and take responsible steps to reduce the national debt. That includes reviewing and reducing unnecessary spending overseas, requiring greater accountability for foreign assistance, and ensuring the Department of Defense can pass a complete, independent audit. Deficit reduction should not come at the expense of Social Security, veterans, essential healthcare, or programs working families depend on.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Require detailed, independent audits of the Department of Defense. 2. Reduce unnecessary foreign spending, including military aid, with strict accountability. 3. Crack down on wasteful government contracts and no-bid spending. 4. Eliminate duplicative and outdated federal programs. 5. Strengthen oversight to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Disagree. Individuals should not be forced to violate sincerely held religious beliefs, but businesses open to the public must follow nondiscrimination laws and provide equal service to all customers. Religious freedom should not be used as a license to discriminate.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, separation of church and state means that government should neither establish, promote, nor favor one religion over another. People have the right to practice their faith freely, but government policy and laws should be based on our Constitution and the rights of all Americans, not the teachings or doctrines of any particular religion. True religious freedom requires that government remain neutral toward religion and that no one’s faith be imposed on others.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B. Government-funded healthcare should be available to everyone while preserving private healthcare options. Everyone should have access to affordable, quality healthcare regardless of income or employment. I support a strong public option that people can choose, while allowing private insurance to remain available. However, healthcare should be treated as a public necessity, not primarily as a source of profit. We should work to reduce and ultimately eliminate excessive profit-taking that drive
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
The government can and should collect de-identified health data to understand public health needs and healthcare costs, but it should not maintain a database identifying individuals by their medical conditions simply to assess their economic burden. Americans deserve strong medical privacy and protection from government misuse of sensitive health information.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C. The U.S. should prioritize its own sovereignty and domestic needs, avoid unnecessarily involving itself in other countries’ internal affairs, and reserve military intervention for situations involving a direct or imminent threat to the United States.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
China poses real challenges to the United States, but we should distinguish between protecting America’s legitimate interests and trying to control the affairs of the entire world. As the global order becomes more multipolar, the United States should focus on protecting our sovereignty, security, economy, and hemisphere while using diplomacy and economic strength wherever possible. Other nations should also have the right to determine their own futures without coercion from any great power.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Our relationship with Israel is important, but that does not give Israel a blank check. The United States must hold Israel accountable to international law and to the same standards we expect from every other country. Until Israel complies with those obligations, the United States should stop providing military weapons and aid. American taxpayer dollars should never be used to enable violations of international law, regardless of who is responsible.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Agree
Agree, but the threat is extremism, not Islam or Muslims. Any violent religious extremism is a threat to national security. We also need to acknowledge America’s role in destabilizing the Middle East through decades of military intervention, which has fueled resentment and instability. Our response should target violent extremists, not entire religions or populations.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who follow our immigration laws should be welcomed, with reasonable pathways for those seeking work, reuniting with family, or escaping persecution. We should secure our borders while treating people humanely, protect asylum for those with legitimate claims, and prioritize keeping families together. Immigration should be orderly and enforceable, but not driven by fear, discrimination, or religious or national-origin tests.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Disagree
I don’t believe sanctuary cities should be necessary. We need a fair, just, and workable immigration system that provides legal pathways, protects legitimate asylum seekers, and enforces the law consistently. When our immigration system works fairly, local governments should not have to create separate policies to address its failures.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
Disagree. Education is a shared responsibility. We’ve seen the consequences of leaving education entirely to the states, and Florida’s poor outcomes demonstrate why federal leadership and investment are necessary. States and communities should have flexibility, but the federal government has a responsibility to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education regardless of where they live.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Disagree
This is an overly broad statement. Decisions regarding a child’s health and well-being should be made by parents, the child, and qualified medical professionals, not politicians. Any actual abuse or coercion should be addressed on a case-by-case basis, but we should not label all social or medical care as child abuse.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage may be a sacred institution for people of faith, but the government’s role is to recognize civil marriage equally under the law. No religious institution should be forced to perform a marriage that violates its beliefs, but the government should not deny two consenting adults the legal rights and protections of marriage based on religion.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a spiritual person and believe there is some form of higher power, though I do not claim to know exactly what that is. My spiritual beliefs are personal and continue to evolve. I do not believe those beliefs should dictate public policy or determine the rights of others.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
A state issued ID should be used to verify person to vote.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
This is too broad a statement. Different situations require different policies that balance privacy, safety, fairness, and individual rights. Decisions should be based on the specific circumstances rather than a blanket rule that excludes transgender people from all women’s spaces.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Liberal
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
The government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation online, including on social media, gaming platforms, and emerging AI tools. Technology companies should be held accountable for protecting minors, preventing exploitation, and responding quickly when abuse occurs.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Firearm ownership should include meaningful safety and proficiency training before purchase, along with stronger protections for people experiencing mental-health crises and victims of domestic violence. Individuals who pose a documented risk of harming themselves or others should not have unrestricted access to firearms.
