I believe the circumstances surrounding an abortion are deeply personal and should be determined by a woman in consultation with her doctor and, if she chooses, her family. I do not believe politicians should establish a list of circumstances under which an abortion is “allowed.”

Planned Parenthood and other reproductive-health providers serve millions of people, including those who have difficulty accessing care. Their services include contraception, STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, pregnancy testing, and other preventive and reproductive healthcare. No provider should lose access to public funding for these crucial services because they offer abortion care.

Decisions about abortion and reproductive healthcare should be made by patients in consultation with their healthcare providers, not by politicians using an antiquated federal law to restrict access to medication that has been prescribed by a medical professional. I oppose using the Comstock Act to prohibit the lawful interstate delivery of abortion medication. Patients should have access to safe, evidence-based healthcare, and federal law should not be weaponized to circumvent laws.

A productive economy also requires fair rules that prevent monopolies, protect workers, and ensure that economic growth benefits working families and communities, not just those at the very top. I support a strong private sector alongside reasonable safeguards that keep markets competitive and ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to participate and succeed.

Our tax system should not ask working families to shoulder a disproportionate share of the burden while giving the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations preferential treatment. We should pursue a fairer tax system that asks more from those who can most afford it and uses that revenue to invest in the things working families depend on, including affordable healthcare, education and job training, infrastructure, and other programs that expand economic opportunity.

The federal government has a responsibility to eliminate waste, fraud, and unnecessary spending wherever it can. But reducing the national debt requires more than simply identifying programs that can be labeled “wasteful.” Congress must take a serious, comprehensive approach to fiscal responsibility: examining spending, revenues, tax policy, and the long-term costs of major federal programs. I oppose cuts that weaken programs working families need or investments that strengthen the economy.

1) Crack down on fraud, waste, improper payments, and wasteful federal contracts, including presidential pet projects. Redirect those funds to services and investments Americans actually need. 2) Eliminate duplicative programs, outdated bureaucracy, and inefficient government systems. 3) End corporate subsidies and tax breaks that don't provide a clear public benefit or return for taxpayers.

Neither individuals nor businesses should have a blanket right to refuse services based on moral or religious beliefs. Religious freedom is a fundamental right, but it should not be used as a justification for discrimination or denying people equal access to goods and services. Still, legitimate religious exercise deserves protection, particularly for religious institutions and genuinely private religious activities. We must protect both religious liberty and equal treatment of all Americans.

The separation of church and state is a fundamental protection of both religious freedom and our democracy. Government should not establish or favor a particular religion, nor should religious beliefs be imposed through government on people who do not share them. At the same time, individuals and religious communities must remain free to practice their faith and participate in public life. People of all (or no) faiths should be able to live according to their own beliefs without coercion.

B) I believe healthcare is a fundamental right. Everyone should have access to affordable, quality care, whether through a public or private option. No American should be denied necessary care because they can't afford it, an insurance company denies a claim, something is incorrectly coded, or care gets trapped in bureaucracy.

Government should protect Americans' medical privacy, not create databases tracking individuals' illnesses to measure their economic value or burden. We can study healthcare costs and public health trends using aggregated, de-identified data without creating records that put people's private medical information at risk.

B) The US has an important role in supporting democracy, human rights, and our allies, while standing against tyranny and aggression. But we should be thoughtful and selective about when and how we intervene. Diplomacy, alliances, economic engagement, and humanitarian assistance should be prioritized, with military force reserved for situations where it is necessary to protect our security or defend our allies and democratic values.

I believe the Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and economic challenges to the United States. We should protect American technology, workers, businesses, and critical infrastructure while reducing dangerous dependencies and working with our allies. At the same time, we should maintain diplomatic channels and avoid unnecessary escalation. We can be clear-eyed about the threat without treating the Chinese people as our adversaries.

This relationship is important to our national security, regional stability, and shared democratic values. I understand the human cost of decisions made far from the battlefield. America should stand with its allies and against terrorism, while also demanding that military force be used responsibly. Our partnership should include support for Israel's security, protection of civilians, humanitarian aid, and a serious commitment to a lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Violent Islamist terrorism is a serious threat to American security. As a veteran, I understand both the threat of terrorism and the human cost of war. We should use strong intelligence, law enforcement, cybersecurity, and cooperation with allies to protect Americans, while making clear that terrorists do not represent peaceful Muslims. Fighting terrorism requires resolve, but not every threat requires another war. We must protect American lives and security while avoiding more unnecessary wars.

I believe America should welcome people who follow our laws and want to contribute to our communities and economy. We should maintain secure borders while providing fair, workable legal pathways for families, workers, refugees, and people fleeing persecution. Our immigration system should be orderly, humane, and efficient, with timely processing and a clear path to citizenship for those who qualify. We can enforce our laws without abandoning our values.

People should feel safe reporting crimes and cooperating with law enforcement regardless of immigration status. Sanctuary policies should not mean ignoring serious crimes or protecting dangerous individuals; they should ensure local resources are focused on public safety while federal authorities handle immigration enforcement.

Children deserve to be treated with dignity and protected from abuse, while families and doctors should be trusted to make careful, evidence-based decisions about their care.

I respect the religious beliefs people hold about marriage, but government should not impose one religious definition of marriage on everyone. Civil marriage is a legal institution, and all Americans should have the same right to marry the person they love, regardless of gender. We should hold platforms accountable for preventing exploitation, strengthen enforcement against those who target children, and give parents and families better tools to keep kids safe. Those efforts should protect children while respecting privacy and constitutional rights.

I support commonsense gun-safety laws that protect public safety while respecting the Second Amendment. We should require background checks for all firearm purchases, keep guns out of the hands of people legally prohibited from possessing them, strengthen safe-storage requirements, and allow temporary extreme-risk protections when someone poses a serious danger to themselves or others. Responsible gun ownership and public safety can coexist.
