In a wealthy society, we should provide a safety net that is reasonable and is not a disincentive to work. The best social program is a job. I believe tax cuts, sound money, deregulation, and an energy policy that provides ample oil, gas, coal, etc...to fuel our economy, is important. Therefore, the government should "ensure" the opportunity for individuals and families to succeed and rise up from poverty.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Prohibiting violent convicted felons from possessing firearms, prohibiting firearm sales to juveniles, and I support background checks for retail firearm purchases through the existing federal system (NICS). I am a 2nd Amendment supporter.
