QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

Abortion is one of many services abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, offer their communities. Defunding those providers will not end abortion; it will only end safe abortion.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

All circumstances.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Choose not to answer

Yes all life deserves legal protection, and nobody is trying to end that.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Choose not to answer

Human embryos created through artificial means belong to the adults who requested the embryos be created. Therefore any decisions about those embryos belong to those adults.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

The Comstock Act of 1873 came about to stop people from mailing "obscene" materials via USPS, and later abortion drugs were added. This is an outdated law that no longer applies to society today.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage in Missouri needs to be increased, and should continue to proportionally increase with cost of living increases.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Disagree

Our economic system is broken. The working class majority struggles to survive, while the top elite live in luxury at the expense of the working class. We need a system that works for the people instead of generating unlimited profit for the top one percent.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Government waste is more than frivolous spending. It is using taxpayer dollars to offset corporate tax breaks and subsidies instead of using those funds for public education. It is using taxpayer dollars to increase law enforcement budgets instead of funding programs shown to help reduce crime rates, such as affordable housing, community programs dedicated to decreasing violence and crime, and mental health resources that do not involve law enforcement, just to name a few.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state, to me, means that a person's religious and/or spiritual beliefs are not a deciding factor in matters of government. More simply put: a single religious/spiritual belief system is not used to make laws for everyone across the board.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Choose not to answer

Businesses have the right to refuse service, within reason. Religious/moral beliefs never justify hate.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) - It has been proven that communities with adequate wages, safe and affordable housing, and accessible healthcare are more productive members of society with lower rates of crime, homelessness, drug use, and suicide.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Other countries have the same treatments as the United States, yet the cost is greatly reduced in other countries. This "economic burden of treatment" has been created by pharmaceutical companies to achieve record profits, while society achieves record deaths due to the financial burden placed on people in the form of outrageous medication and healthcare costs. There isn't a need to track this "burden" if there isn't a "burden" to begin with. Universal healthcare solves this "burden."

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Choose not to answer

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

No. Any government that not only supports but carries out genocide is not one our government should be involved with.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

For me, an exception would be something like the foreign exchange student program. Those types of things should be jointly funded by all governments whose countries participate in the program.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Did not answer

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Choose not to answer

Children are not being forced to transition genders. Socially changing one's name, clothing choices, etc. is common among adults and children. Fact: puberty blocking medication are used to treat medical conditions such as early-onset puberty to allow a child's body more time to grow before puberty. These patients are under 8-9 years old. Fact: Prader-Will Syndrome and Chronic Kidney Disease are just two medical conditions affecting children that use hormone therapy as part of treatment.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a union between consenting adults. The concept of marriage existed before Christianity. To say that marriage is "God ordained" is chronologically false.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

Requiring a government issued photo I.D. is a form of voter suppression when the photo I.D. is not issue free of charge. Voting is a fundamental right for all citizens.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Did not answer

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Choose not to answer

This question is about trans women and if they belong in spaces with cis women, and my answer is yes. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Biological sex is more than anatomy. Anatomy, chromosomes, and hormones all play a role. Sometimes anatomy doesn't match chromosomes.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I think solar energy is the most reliable energy source. I believe we can develop a way to harvest this energy without the use of hazardous chemicals, destruction of land for solar farms, as well as a more eco-friendly solar panel.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

I have not.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

I have not.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The criminal justice system should support victims of crime, as well as bring justice for those victims. The system should also support convicted criminals in their rehabilitation. Those with a future release should be able to reintegrate into society easily so they have a decereased chance of reoffending.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Choose not to answer

At no point has anyone attempted to implement, or suggested the implementation of Sharia Law in the United States.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There is a gun violence problem in this country, however I do not know the end-all solution. I don't think ownership restriction is the answer, due to current restrictions being ineffective. I do not want to remove guns from responsible gun owners. This is an issue that I believe will take bipartisan efforts, and won't be solved overnight.
