QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
My commitment to human rights means protecting the dignity and equal worth of women, men, children, and nonbinary individuals. These complex issues require compassionate, responsible, and thoughtful policies that protect human life while respecting human dignity and individual circumstances. I believe women deserve the right to make informed healthcare decisions, especially in complex or life-threatening circumstances, including financial hardship, with dignity, compassion, and respect.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
I believe human life deserves dignity and ethical consideration, including embryos created through reproductive technology. At the same time, these deeply personal and medically complex circumstances require compassion, responsible medical standards, and respect for patients and families. I do not support substantial government restrictions on how unused embryos are handled, and I believe these complex decisions should be guided by appropriate medical, ethical, and individual considerations.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe every human life has inherent dignity and value. I believe abortion should be limited to exceptional circumstances, including serious risks to the pregnant woman’s life or health, rape or incest, severe or nonviable fetal conditions, or extreme personal or financial hardship. Women facing these circumstances deserve compassion, accurate information, appropriate care, and dignity. Every child deserves a safe, loving, supportive environment to thrive.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
I support public funding for organizations providing essential healthcare, including preventive care, cancer screenings, contraception, reproductive healthcare, and services for low income and underserved communities. As a Social Justice and Human Rights expert, I believe healthcare should not depend on income. Public funds must be used responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with federal law, while respecting every individual’s dignity.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
I believe laws concerning reproductive healthcare should balance the protection of human life with women’s health, dignity, and individual circumstances. I support responsible regulation of medications and medical standards, but I do not support using outdated laws to interfere with medically necessary care or decisions made between patients and qualified healthcare professionals. Any enforcement should respect constitutional rights, federal law, medical evidence, & individual circumstances.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
I strongly support free enterprise and the right to private property because they encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, investment, job creation, and economic growth. As part of my International Affairs studies, I completed several economics courses that strengthened my understanding of their importance to a productive economy. I believe economic opportunity should be accessible to everyone and that a strong economy should create opportunities and prosperity for working families & communities.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Agree
I strongly believe in fairness, justice, and economic opportunity. Those with greater financial means can reasonably contribute more, while our policies should respect hard work and personal responsibility. We should support working families and people facing genuine hardship while ensuring that tax and assistance systems encourage employment, education, entrepreneurship, and self-sufficiency. Fairness means creating opportunities to succeed, not penalizing those who work hard.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
I believe fiscal responsibility requires clear priorities, not across-the-board cuts. We should invest in America’s infrastructure, roads, transportation, communities, economic development, and essential services while protecting those who genuinely need assistance. We should reduce wasteful spending, exercise fiscal discipline, and avoid unnecessary military involvement abroad that does not serve our national security. Taxpayer dollars should be used responsibly for the American people.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Reduce waste, fraud and abuse in federal programs via stronger oversight and accountability. 2. Eliminate duplicative programs and unnecessary administrative spending. 3. Review foreign assistance to ensure U.S. taxpayer dollars serve clear humanitarian or national interests and are properly accounted for. 4. Avoid unnecessary military interventions and prolonged overseas expenditures that do not serve U.S. national security interests. 5. Require greater transparency from federal contracts.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Strongly Disagree. Religious liberty and freedom of conscience are fundamental rights and should be respected. At the same time, religious freedom should not be used to justify unlawful discrimination or denial of basic rights and equal protection. We must protect both freedom of conscience and the dignity and rights of every person.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I strongly believe in the separation of church and state. Government and religious institutions have different responsibilities and should remain separate. Government should neither establish nor favor one religion over another. Everyone should be free to practice their faith, express their beliefs, or choose not to practice religion. Separation of church and state protects religious freedom and equal treatment under the law.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I believe access to quality, affordable healthcare is a basic human need and should be available to every American, regardless of income or background. No family should face financial devastation because of illness. I support a strong government-funded healthcare option available to all, while preserving the freedom of individuals and families to choose private insurance if they prefer.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
I support the collection of anonymous health data to understand healthcare needs, costs, and improve public policy. However, I do not support a government database that identifies individuals based on their medical conditions. Medical information is deeply private and should be protected. We can evaluate the economic burden of illness through aggregated and anonymized data without compromising individual privacy, dignity, or confidentiality.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B. I support selective and responsible U.S. engagement to advance democracy, human rights, and humanitarian interests while protecting American national security and sovereignty. The United States should avoid unnecessary military intervention and prolonged foreign conflicts. Diplomacy, humanitarian assistance, and economic partnerships should be prioritized, with military action reserved for clear and compelling national security threats.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Protecting the United States, the American people, our democratic institutions, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and economic security must be a priority. We should respond firmly to credible threats from the Chinese Communist Party while pursuing responsible diplomacy, reducing strategic vulnerabilities, and avoiding unnecessary conflict. My concern is with harmful government actions and policies, not with the Chinese people or Chinese Americans.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The U.S. relationship with Israel is important, as are our relationships with allies and partners worldwide. I support Israel’s right to exist in peace and security and Palestinians’ right to peace, freedom, security, and dignity. Civilians must be protected. I believe our foreign policy should reflect our values, protect American interests, support human rights, encourage diplomacy, and pursue lasting peace and security for both peoples and all people.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Agree
Terrorism and violent extremism are serious threats to our national security, regardless of the ideology used to justify them. However, terrorism should not be associated with an entire religion or its followers. The United States must confront individuals and organizations that engage in or materially support terrorism while protecting religious freedom and the constitutional rights of peaceful Americans of every faith.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I support a fair, lawful, secure, and efficient immigration system that prioritizes family reunification. Applicants who meet legal requirements and pose no criminal or national security threat should receive a timely and fair process. We should protect refugees and those facing persecution while welcoming skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and others who respect our laws and contribute positively to America.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Agree
I support protecting undocumented individuals from exploitation while their cases are lawfully processed. Communities should promote trust and safety while respecting federal immigration law. When authorized, individuals should have access to legal identification and timely work authorization. Without lawful opportunities, vulnerable immigrants may face trafficking, labor exploitation, and abuse. Compassion, public safety, human rights, and the rule of law must work together.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly disagree. Significant inequities remain across our education systems, including differences in resources, opportunities, and outcomes between school districts. Rather than eliminating the U.S. Department of Education, we should strengthen its role in protecting equal access, civil rights, and quality education while working with states and local communities. We should reduce unnecessary bureaucracy while ensuring every student has a fair opportunity to learn and succeed.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Disagree
I believe American education should be protected from foreign government influence and political interference. However, legitimate international partnerships, research, scholarships, and cultural exchanges can benefit American students when they are transparent, lawful, and properly regulated. Foreign funding should be disclosed and subject to safeguards that protect academic integrity, national security, and institutional independence.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Neutral
Children deserve protection, compassion, and appropriate support. Irreversible medical or physical interventions related to gender transition should wait until an appropriate legal age, when individuals can make fully informed decisions. Parents should have a central role, with professional guidance and safeguards. No child should be coerced, and decisions should prioritize long-term safety, dignity, and well-being. I would not automatically label every form of social support as child abuse.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
I respect the belief that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, and I respect the religious traditions that hold this view. At the same time, civil marriage is a legal institution, and government has a responsibility to protect the equal rights and legal protections of individuals under the law. People should be free to follow their religious beliefs about marriage without imposing those beliefs on others.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am Muslim. My faith teaches me kindness, compassion, honesty, justice, humility, and service to humanity. I believe in God Almighty, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and all prophets, and respect people of all faiths as well as those who do not practice a religion. I believe every person has inherent dignity and deserves respect, freedom, and equal treatment. My faith calls me to protect the vulnerable, pursue peace and justice, forgive, serve others, and seek truth. I believe our shared humanity should unite us despite our differences. I strongly support religious freedom and separation of religion and government, so every American is equally protected regardless of faith. I grew up with spiritual teachings and messages of mysticism.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support making voting accessible to every eligible voter while maintaining strong safeguards for election integrity. Voters should not be unnecessarily denied the right to vote because they lack a specific form of photo identification. States should provide secure alternatives for verifying identity and eligibility, ensuring that voting remains accessible, secure, and fair.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
I believe women and girls deserve fairness, safety, dignity, and privacy, particularly in competitive sports and intimate or vulnerable settings. At the same time, transgender individuals also deserve dignity, safety, and protection from discrimination. Policies should seek practical solutions that protect women’s rights and safety while treating every person with respect and compassion.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I believe America needs a diverse energy strategy combining nuclear power, solar, wind and hydropower, supported by energy storage & a stronger grid. We should pursue reliable, affordable, clean energy, create jobs, and strengthen energy independence
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I consider myself an Independent moderate. I evaluate issues individually rather than through a partisan or ideological lens. My positions are guided by human rights, fairness, individual responsibility, public safety, economic opportunity, religious liberty, compassion, and the best interests of the American people. I am willing to support good ideas from across the political spectrum and work with anyone committed to constructive solutions.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Children must be protected from sexual exploitation and abuse, including online. Government has an important responsibility to prevent trafficking and exploitation, hold offenders accountable, and provide effective protections for minors, while ensuring that enforcement measures respect constitutional rights and the privacy of law-abiding Americans.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I respect the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding Americans to legally own firearms. At the same time, responsible gun ownership must go hand in hand with public safety. I support comprehensive background checks, enforcement of existing gun laws, secure firearm storage, and reasonable measures to keep firearms away from violent criminals and individuals legally determined to pose a serious danger to themselves or others. We can protect constitutional rights while also protecting our c
