QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

Reproductive care IS healthcare. I believe in Medicare for all, a system in which all medical needs are collectively insured by our government, instead of by price-gouging private insurance companies.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

What happens between a person and their doctor is their private business, that the government should have no part in.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

If we agree that human life deserves protection at all stages, then that must include taking the best possible care of children who are already existing in our world, ensuring extra financial support and assistance to working families, and the elderly. Naturally, we must increase access to social welfare programs to ensure all stages of personhood are cared for, until natural death. :)

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Disagree

Let people do with their bodies--and their reproductive health--what they want.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

Once again: it should not be the government's business what medical procedures private citizens are allowed to have access to.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The minimum wage in its current state is not a livable wage; it needs to be increased and enforced.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

All people deserve to have the opportunities to start businesses and buy the properties they want. Note: I said PEOPLE, because corporations are NOT people, and West Virginia has a massive out-of-state corporate landlord problem that I intend to solve, if elected.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

It's my opinion that government waste is taxpayer money that goes to politicians who then cut access to services and infrastructure their people need. I don't intend to waste tax dollars on Ferris wheels, or by investigating supposed "fraud" within clothing voucher programs and leave families without that resource. Limit HOPE scholarship funding by income, to ensure families who actually NEED the money get it. Remove money from politics, make lobbying illegal. Publicly fund elections.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The church has no business dictating matters of governance. While religious folk have the freedom to make their personal decisions through their faith, government officials must realize that they ALSO govern the secular, and those non-religious people cannot be treated as less-than through the lenses of our law.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

If you cannot tolerate the idea of working for and with EVERYONE, you should not be operating a service. We are all people, regardless of religion or party affiliation--we all deserve equal access to goods and services.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I believe in a slightly modified A. Healthcare should be guaranteed and funded by the government for all US citizens (or West Virginians, in the case of a state-funded option,) but I also believe private insurance should be allowed to continue existing. Private insurance needs to make itself more service-minded and competitive if it wants to continue to thrive, like some insurance companies that are offering their members a utility or grocery-benefits card for their continued patronage.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Sometimes people have different needs, and that's okay. Government focus should be on EQUITY; it is fair and just to ensure the different needs of all people are respected and accommodated to the best of our abilities. It's not fair or just that most people here can't go to the doctor because they're worried about the debt, or they can't miss work, or they have no time to rest when sick. That's not normal, and it shouldn't be encouraged.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

In that China and Russia are now close allies, they do pose a risk to our country's military and cyber security. West Virginia state politicians can't do much about that, though; our focus should really be on how we can help our own people, in our state.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians. Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity. How is this relevant to the state of West Virginia?

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Agree

I agree that they are necessary, because our federal government is currently committing acts of violence and human rights violations in their treatment of immigrants, undocumented or no.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

"School choice" exists as a talking point to further fuel educational divides between the rich and poor. By funneling kids into private institutions with no oversight, they can curate the curriculum that best serves the powerful. If conservative politicians continue to have their way in our state, poor kids will get put back into the mines without ever having a chance to learn to read.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

I think this is context-specific. If countries agree to a program that is mutually-funded for the benefit of both sides, and especially if they are transparent about its aims and who will be able to participate, they should be allowed to have a fruitful educational partnership. I don't think this should be the rule, however--just a useful exception, especially when combining efforts for things like medical research.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Neutral

People often use this excuse to hide child abuse and neglect. There should always be oversight of the health and wellbeing of children--parents don't always know, or DO, best for those children. Consider the 16 feral children in Ohio as a prime example of this. And they are not the exception--childhood trauma comes as natural to West Virginias as poor education, lack of opportunity, and generational poverty.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Neutral

As much as we would prefer they weren't, children are autonomous beings with feelings, opinions, and needs often separate from our own. They should be allowed to have some measure of choice over their perceived medical needs. Besides, parental attempts to stop children from developing in ways they don't approve of most often just end up contributing to experiences of trauma for those kids. Families deserve to have these conversations with medical professionals, not their delegate.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

This is a ridiculous take in 2026. Let people live the lives they find meaningful.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

In that I believe people should be allowed to live the lives they want, that includes self-destructing in the ways they choose. I feel it's not my place to determine what adults should be allowed to do with their money, or time. This kind of leisure should be expanded along with readily-available mental health services, though, because heavy gambling is still an addiction.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a humanist. I don't believe in religion, or an afterlife, and I believe that if reincarnation exists it still includes a death of everything we are. As such, since this is the only life I have to be who I am right now, I want to spend it making positive changes in the lives of others, because we are all we have.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Agree

If you have a voter's registration card, and an assigned polling place listed on that card, YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO VOTE. Plain and simple. Requiring additional documentation is a barrier to low-income and under-resourced people, and conservative politicians know that.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

If someone has been proven to be a descendant of slavery, they deserve financial compensation for the lifetime of suffering their ancestors were forced to endure. That might require implementing genealogy-tracing and DNA-testing for determination.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

Biological "males" are not allowed to participate in women's' sports as it is. This is a disingenuous talking point meant to provoke an emotional reaction, same with this entire questionnaire. In competitive sports, trans women are regularly monitored and reported as having no bone-density differences, no meaningful hemoglobin differences, having HIGHER fat indexes, and reportedly weaker grip strength and lower-body strength performance (SF.gov, 2025)

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe there's no one most reliable energy source; we need to diversity our renewable infrastructure across wind and solar, and we also need to reinvest in nuclear plants, which have diminished destruction capacity in modernity.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

I am a progressive.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No, I have no such history.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No, I have no such history.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

We should protect victims, and get them justice.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

I agree, better online regulation is necessary. But so is more parental oversight. Repealing section 230 is not the answer, and neither is banning teenagers from a necessary social outlet.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

Neither should Christian Nationalism be accepted and incorporated into our laws, or government.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I think we need stricter background checks for firearm purchase; people with known domestic violence histories should not be allowed to purchase firearms, and neither should people with allegations of violence against them, until court proceedings rule them innocent, or are dismissed.
