Human embryos created through fertility treatment deserve responsible and ethical handling, but I do not support blanket legal protections that interfere with IVF or other medical care. Decisions regarding embryo use, storage, testing, or disposition should remain with the patients involved and their medical providers, guided by medical standards and informed consent.

Abortion decisions should be made by the patient in consultation with their medical provider, based on the patient’s health, circumstances, and medical standards of care. Government should not substitute political judgment for individualized medical decision-making.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. I support universal access with choice. People should have a public coverage option available to them while keeping the ability to choose private insurance. Medicare and Medicaid should remain strong, and rural communities need payment and access reforms that keep hospitals, clinics, and essential services open.

Government shouldn't maintain identifiable lists of people based on their medical conditions for economic analysis. Health costs can be studied using aggregate and de-identified data without creating unnecessary privacy risks. Patients should not have to sacrifice medical privacy so government can measure healthcare spending.

B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. The United States should engage selectively when our security, treaty commitments, or major humanitarian interests are at stake. We should support allies and democratic partners without treating every conflict as ours to fight. Military action needs clear objectives, congressional oversight, and a realistic path to ending U.S. involvement.

The Chinese government presents serious challenges through cyberattacks, military competition, intellectual property theft, supply-chain dependence, and economic pressure. The U.S. should strengthen domestic capacity, protect critical infrastructure and technology, and work with allies to address those risks without turning strategic competition into unnecessary military escalation.

The U.S. relationship with Israel is important for regional security, diplomacy, and intelligence cooperation. That relationship should not be treated as unconditional approval of the Israeli government. U.S. support should come with clear expectations for civilian protection, lawful conduct, humanitarian access, and accountability when those standards are not met.

Terrorist groups motivated by extremist Islamist ideology can pose a national security threat. Islam itself is not the threat, and Muslims should not be treated as one. The United States should focus on specific extremist organizations and credible threats, just as it should with any form of violent ideological extremism.

The U.S. should maintain a legal immigration system that is orderly, fair, and workable. People should be able to immigrate through family, employment, humanitarian, and asylum pathways when they meet legal requirements. We need secure borders, functioning immigration courts, faster case processing, and a realistic path for long-term residents who contribute to their communities and have no serious criminal record.

At the same time, serious criminal activity should not be shielded. I strongly oppose eliminating the U.S. Department of Education. States and local communities should continue to control how their schools operate, as they already do. The federal government still has an important role in supporting special education, Title I, career and technical education, civil rights enforcement, and other programs schools rely on. That includes enforcing laws against trafficking, grooming, coercion, and the creation or distribution of child sexual abuse material while holding offenders and platforms accountable when they knowingly enable exploitation.

The Second Amendment protects lawful gun ownership, and public safety measures should respect that right. I support thorough background checks, stronger enforcement against illegal trafficking and prohibited purchasers, responsible firearm storage, and narrowly tailored red-flag laws with strong due-process protections.
