RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
Public funding should support access to lawful healthcare services. Patients should not lose access to preventive or reproductive healthcare simply because of the provider they choose.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
These decisions should be made by a patient in consultation with their medical provider, based on their individual circumstances. This is not the responsibility of politicians.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Disagree
I respect that people hold deeply personal beliefs about when life begins. I also believe government should not override a person's bodily autonomy or interfere in private medical decisions.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Disagree
Decisions involving IVF and embryos should remain with patients, their families, and medical professionals, not politicians. Families pursuing fertility treatment deserve privacy and the freedom to make deeply personal medical decisions.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Disagree
An outdated federal law should not be used to restrict access to lawful reproductive healthcare or interfere with private medical decisions.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I support a fair minimum wage that keeps pace with the cost of living while recognizing the challenges facing small businesses. Wage policy should reward work, strengthen families, and consider regional economic conditions.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Yes. Free enterprise and private property are fundamental to a strong economy. Government's role is to maintain fair competition, protect consumers and property rights, and hold bad actors accountable.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Prevent fraud before taxpayer dollars are lost; modernize outdated state systems; strengthen audits and program oversight; eliminate duplicative programs and unnecessary administrative costs; and require measurable results for major state spending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Government should neither establish nor favor a religion, while every person remains free to practice their faith or no faith at all. Religious liberty means protecting both freedom of religion and freedom from government-imposed religion.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
Religious liberty deserves protection, but so does equal access under the law. These situations require balancing sincerely held religious beliefs with generally applicable laws and protections against discrimination.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B. I support a public healthcare option alongside private insurance. If a public system can provide quality care at a lower cost by reducing insurance overhead and administrative expenses, Minnesotans should have that choice. The goal should be affordable care, not protecting any particular business model.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
Government should analyze healthcare costs without creating databases that unnecessarily identify people by their medical conditions. Medical privacy and individual data protections must come first.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We should protect American infrastructure and technology while maintaining diplomacy and avoiding unnecessary escalation.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. Israel is an important U.S. partner, but partnership should not mean unlimited financial/military support. I support reducing U.S. funding to Israel while maintaining diplomatic and security cooperation and working toward lasting peace and security for both Israelis, Palestinians, and others in that area.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Agree
Violent offenders should still be held accountable. Local law enforcement should be able to focus on public safety without turning routine community policing into federal immigration enforcement. Undocumented people who witness crimes, report abuse, or need emergency services should be able to come forward without fear.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
States and local communities should have significant control over education, but eliminating the Department of Education could jeopardize federal support and protections for students. I support reducing unnecessary bureaucracy while maintaining essential education funding and accountability.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
Foreign governments should not be allowed to buy influence over American schools or universities. Foreign funding should require full transparency and strong safeguards, while legitimate academic partnerships and research should remain possible.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Agree
Parents should have a strong role in their children's education and healthcare. That role should be respected while also protecting children's safety, individual rights, and access to appropriate care.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Disagree
I don't support labeling parents, educators, or healthcare professionals as child abusers simply for supporting a transgender child. Decisions about a child's healthcare should be made carefully by families and qualified medical professionals, with the child's well-being first.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
People are free to hold religious beliefs about marriage, but government should not impose one religious definition on everyone. Adults should have equal protection under civil marriage laws regardless of whom they love.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
I would evaluate gambling proposals individually based on consumer protections, impacts on communities and problem gambling, benefits to Minnesota, and whether the regulatory structure protects taxpayers.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in treating people with dignity, serving others, acting with integrity, and leaving our communities better than we found them. I respect people of all faiths and those with no religious faith. My personal beliefs guide my character, but I do not believe government should impose religious beliefs on others. That is unconstitutional.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
Eligible voters should be required to verify their identity, but a photo ID should not be the only acceptable method. Election security and voter access can coexist through reliable identification and verification options.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
We should address documented discrimination and unequal opportunity, but I do not support determining government payments solely on the basis of race. Policy should address demonstrated harms and barriers in a fair and legally sustainable way.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
This combines several very different issues. Women's sports deserve fair competition, and intimate or high-risk settings require appropriate privacy and safety protections. Policies should address those circumstances individually while treating every person with dignity.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Agree
Climate change is real and requires action. We should invest in cleaner energy, resilient infrastructure, conservation, and practical solutions that protect our environment without sacrificing grid reliability or affordability.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
We need a reliable mix of nuclear, renewables, storage, and other dispatchable generation backed by a modernized grid. Nuclear should be part of Minnesota's long-term discussion, with strong safety, financing, and ratepayer protections.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I consider myself pragmatic rather than ideological. I support individual freedom, responsible government, fiscal accountability, public safety, and practical solutions that work. I am willing to work with either party when it benefits Minnesotans.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal should be public safety, accountability, and reducing repeat offenses. Violent crimes should be fully prosecuted, while nonviolent offenders should have greater access to rehabilitation, treatment, and pathways back to productive lives. I also oppose private prisons. Incarceration should never be driven by profit.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Neutral
The U.S. Constitution and federal and state laws govern our legal system. No religious doctrine, Islamic, Christian, Jewish, or otherwise, should supersede them. At the same time, Americans are free to practice their religion consistent with the Constitution and applicable law.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun laws should focus on people who pose a demonstrated danger. Those convicted of violent crimes and individuals legally determined to pose a serious threat to themselves or others should not have access to firearms. Law-abiding citizens are not the problem, and their constitutional rights should be respected.
