QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Government has no constitutional authority to redistribute taxpayer dollars to private organizations or healthcare providers. Forcing citizens to fund entities like Planned Parenthood through taxes violates individual property rights. [This issue is not relevant to the Commissioner of Labor position for which I am currently campaigning. I will mark subsequent answers to non-job-related questions as "NR" (not relevant), as those topics do not impact my qualifications or performance if elected.]
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
[NR] As a Christian, I am personally opposed to abortion. However, from a constitutional and limited government perspective, I believe the state's role must remain strictly limited. While the government should never compel citizens to fund elective procedures through taxpayer dollars, decisions regarding personal bodily autonomy and medical care belong with the individual, their family, and their medical provider - not with state bureaucrats.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
[NR] I believe human life deserves legal protection, but there is a clear biological distinction between an early-stage embryo and a developed human life. Legal personhood and state protection should attach as a fetus develops toward viability, rather than arbitrarily at the moment of initial conception. Throughout this process, government should never use taxpayer funds to subsidize or mandate elective procedures.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
[NR] Embryonic human life carries sacred potential and deserves ethical respect rather than intentional destruction or commercial exploitation.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
[NR] I oppose expanding federal executive overreach through a resurrected 19th century federal statute. Under the 10th Amendment, regulation of medical care and legal standards belongs to individual states and the people, not a federal postal agency monitoring private shipments across state lines.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I am for market-based wages and oppose all new minimum wage laws. When a price floor is set by the government that is above the market price, that results in surpluses, which in the labor market, translates to layoffs and increased unemployment.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise and private property are the fundamental pillars of human flourishing, innovation, and generational prosperity. When individuals own the fruits of their labor and trade freely without bureaucratic overreach or central planning, prices stay honest, productivity thrives, and economic opportunity expands. My priority as Labor Commissioner will be to protect freedom of contract, dismantle unnecessary regulatory hurdles, and move Oklahoma more toward being a freedom haven for work.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
(1) Shift to a "Consultation-first" safety model, directing OSHA/PEOSH resources toward voluntary education and technical assistance. (2) Audit and sunset non-essential occupational licenses to identify and eliminate redundant or burdensome licensing requirements. (3) Refocus the Wage & Hour division strictly to breach-of-contract and fraud claims, reducing backlog and cost. (4) Require due process and independent warrants for subpoenas.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
[NR] 'SOCAS' is a guardrail meant to protect religious liberty from government intrusion. Government has no authority to establish a national religion, dictate doctrine, or interfere with how individuals and churches practice their faith. I do not think it was designed to banish moral or religious principles from public life, but rather to protect religious liberty from state overreach. Gov't should never coerce religious institutions or taxpayers to fund programs that violate their conscience.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Being required to perform services one is morally or religiously opposed to is the ultimate violation of their freedom. I am opposed to that, provided the refusal does not violate the law.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
[NR] I am in the 'D' camp, however I understand seniors and low-income individuals who currently rely on a safety net (in the 'C' group) until it could be phased out will need help during the transition. I believe the best way to make healthcare accessible and affordable is through open market competition, deregulatory reform, and consumer choice. Shielding healthcare from government monopolies drives down costs, spurs innovation, and empowers us to choose the best options.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
[NR] Individual medical records are private property and strictly subject to individual consent. Granting the state authority to track, catalog, and evaluate citizens based on their personal health conditions violates fundamental 4th Amendment privacy rights and paves the way for state-managed rationing. The government's role should be to protect individual rights, not to transform private citizens into numbers on a state ledger.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Disagree
[NR] While national defense & cybersecurity require vigilance, viewing global trade solely through a lens of existential miliary threat overlooks how economic self-interest operates. China's economic stability depends heavily on free-market production and international commerce. The US should prioritize strong home-front security, protect intellectual property through robust contract enforcement, & maintain open, voluntary trade rather than escalating state-managed conflicts that harm Americans.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
[NR] I believe we should support peaceful, diplomatic relations and private trade with Israel, but I don't believe American taxpayers should be forced to fund any foreign government's military or operational budget.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose sanctuary cities because local governments should not selectively choose which laws to uphold. However, my ultimate goal is a free market in labor. True freedom of movement and open borders can work successfully when welfare programs and taxpayer subsidies are eliminated entirely. People should be free to travel and work wherever there is voluntary demand, provided they come to work, pay their own way, and respect the rule of law.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
[NR] The US Department of Education is certainly one of many federal departments I think could be eliminated completely. Education belongs under the control of parents, teachers, and local communities, not unelected federal bureaucrats.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
[NR] American education should be accountable to local parents, taxpayers, and voluntary markets, not foreign state actors or federal bureaucrats using financial leverage to influence domestic curricula.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
[NR]
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
[NR] Adults have the liberty to make their own medical decisions, but minors lack the developmental maturity and legal capacity to give informed consent for life-altering procedures. Government's legitimate role is to protect minors from coercion, harm, and non-consensual procedures until they reach adulthood. I advocate supporting all healthy relationships, but that is different from physically altering the body.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
[NR] I agree that marriage is "God-ordained" and "sacred", however the "and legal union" phrase changes the question. The state has no theological authority to define religious sacraments, nor should it use civil law to restrict voluntary contracts of consenting adults. I am for freedom of contract and equal protection under the law.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
[NR] Consenting adults have the right to engage in voluntary activity, such as gambling. However, the government should not create monopolies, pick market winners, or rely on gaming revenue to fund government. Gambling should neither be banned for free adults nor given special state privileges.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
[NR] My faith is centered on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep commitment to God's Word. Raised in the rich tradition of the Anglican church, my journey has also been shaped by time in the Nazarene community, teaching me the value of personal holiness, prayer, and living out the Gospel daily. My Christian faith drives my conviction that our rights come from God, not the government, and that our state must protect religious liberty so families and churches can thrive.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
Verifying identity safeguards election integrity and protects every citizen's vote. However, a state-mandated photo ID system can risk turning a natural right into a government granted privilege if misused for surveillance or intrusive databases. Basic, low-burden proof of identity secures elections by ensuring one vote per registered voter while limiting government tracking and bureaucratic overreach.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
[NR] Government should treat every citizen with equal rights under the law, not as a member of a collective racial group. Compelling current taxpayers, who committed no historical wrong, to pay damages based on race is inherently unjust, divisive, and unconstitutional. Justice involves protecting individual liberty, equal opportunity for all Oklahomans regardless of background.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
[NR] There are nuances to be considered in the situations described.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
[NR] Framing climate change as an existential threat is often a pretext for government overreach and central economic planning. Environmental stewardship is best achieved through free-market innovation, technological progress, and property rights - not state mandates.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
[NR] This depends partially on geographic location. The most reliable source is a market-driven, dispatchable baseload power - currently natural gas. If the nuclear industry could be deregulated, it could become a more reliable source of energy.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
It depends on the issue - it is difficult for me to categorize myself in one of these slots on the whole. I realize there are parts of the government initiated and grown by the Left, and there are parts of the government initiated and grown by the Right. Downsizing the state regardless of which party expanded it is chiefly what I am for. As a libertarian, I advocate for consistent, non-partisan adherence to individual liberty, opposing regulatory overreach regardless of which party proposes it.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
[NR] The primary goal should be protecting individual rights by punishing violence, securing restitution for victims, and upholding the rule of law. Justice must focus on individual accountability - holding offenders directly responsible for victimizing others and restoring private property - rather than expanding bureaucratic government authority or engaging in social engineering.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Neutral
[NR] Protecting children from online exploitation is primarily the duty of the parents. Rather than using child safety as a pretext to expand mass digital surveillance or strip parents of their authority, the government's role should be limited to investigating and prosecuting clear criminal acts.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Agree
[NR] America's legal system rests on the Constitution and objective, equal rights under the law. Incorporating any religious legal code - including Sharia - into public law violates the Establishment Clause and creates dual legal standards.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The 2nd Amendment protects the individual right to self-defense that pre-exists government. "Shall not be infringed" is a clear constitutional boundary. The government's focus should be strictly on prosecuting violent offenders, not restricting our rights.
