QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I believe every human life has inherent value and deserves legal protection - from conception to natural death. Our laws and public policies should protect the most vulnerable, uphold human dignity, and ensure that every person has the opportunity to live, grow, and thrive. Protecting life means protecting our communities and the future we leave to our children.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should respond to an unwanted or crisis pregnancy with compassion, and practical support - not judgment or abandonment. The school’s responsibility is to ensure that the student remains safe, supported, and able to continue her education. This includes connecting the student and family with appropriate school counselors, social services, healthcare resources, parenting and educational support, and other community resources. I also believe parents should have an appropriate voice in matters affecting their children. Schools should work with parents and families while respecting applicable student privacy and legal requirements. Most importantly, we should not allow a pregnancy to become the end of a young person’s education.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Neutral

I believe student loan forgiveness should not become a blanket policy that transfers individual debt obligations to taxpayers who did not incur those debts. It can be unfair to people who chose different educational paths, paid their loans responsibly, or sacrificed to avoid taking on debt. At the same time, I recognize that the cost of higher education has placed a significant financial burden on many families and students. We should address the underlying problem

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I support responsible government funding for public education from Pre-K through college. Every child deserves access to safe schools, qualified teachers, modern resources, and meaningful opportunities to succeed. Investment should begin with quality early childhood education, literacy, social development, and support for children with special needs. Schools must also provide counselors, technology, transportation, and safe facilities. Teachers deserve fair compensation, training, and classroom

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, separation of church and state means public schools should not promote or favor one religion, while respecting every student’s constitutional right to religious freedom. Faith has an important place in many families, but schools serve children from diverse backgrounds. I support protecting religious expression while keeping government neutral, ensuring every student is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect regardless of faith or belief.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Neutral

I believe immigration enforcement should prioritize public safety, particularly individuals who pose a serious threat to communities. Enforcement should be conducted lawfully, fairly, and with respect for due process and human dignity. Local schools should remain focused on educating and protecting students, regardless of their immigration status.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Neutral

I do not believe abortion or gender-affirming providers should be used as instructional or service providers within public schools. Schools should focus on education, student safety, academic development, and age-appropriate health education. I support providing students with appropriate counseling and connecting families with qualified healthcare professionals when necessary, while respecting parents’ rights and maintaining appropriate boundaries between schools, families, and outside healthcar

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

I agree that appropriate consequences for serious or repeated misconduct are necessary to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. Students should understand that their actions have consequences, while discipline should be fair, consistent, age-appropriate, and focused on accountability and rehabilitation. Schools should also use counseling, early intervention, and restorative practices when appropriate, with the goal of correcting behavior without unnecessarily removal from education.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I support providing students with a thorough education in America’s founding documents, including the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Students should understand the principles, rights, responsibilities, and history that shaped our nation. Schools can also cultivate informed patriotism by teaching students to appreciate America’s ideals while encouraging them to think critically about our history and how we can continue improving our country.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
