RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
I oppose blanket bans on public funding for abortion providers. I support allowing taxpayer funds for the full range of reproductive and preventive health services, with existing legal limits on using federal funds for abortion itself, so that patients, especially low income and rural, can access comprehensive care.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe elective abortion should be legal and accessible, particularly in the first and second trimesters, with reasonable health and safety regulations. Decisions should be made by the pregnant person and their medical provider, not by the government, with later term abortions reserved for serious health, viability, or safety concerns.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Neutral
I believe human life has moral value from conception, but the law must balance that with the fundamental rights, health, and autonomy of pregnant people. Legal protections should increase as a pregnancy progresses, while preserving the right to choose and ensuring access to contraception, sex education, and maternal healthcare.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Neutral
I support ethical standards and oversight for assisted reproductive technologies, but I do not support granting embryos full legal personhood. Families and medical professionals should retain the ability to make decisions about unused embryos within clear ethical and regulatory frameworks.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
I do not support enforcing the Comstock Act for modern abortion medication. I support safe, legal access to FDA approved abortion pills, with regulation based on current medical evidence rather than a 19th century statute.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I support raising the minimum wage to a living wage, indexed to inflation, so that full-time workers can afford basic needs without falling into poverty. This should be phased in thoughtfully and paired with support for small businesses.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Neutral
I agree that free enterprise and private property are important, but they must operate within fair rules: strong labor protections, consumer safeguards, antitrust enforcement, and a tax system that funds public goods like education, infrastructure, and healthcare.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Modernization: Invest in technology to streamline services and cut redundant paperwork and legacy systems. Evidence based programs: Expand programs that show measurable results; sunset or reform those that don’t. Transparency: Strengthen public reporting so waste is visible and accountable.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, it means government neither imposes religion nor interferes with personal faith. Laws should be neutral and protect everyone’s rights regardless of belief, ensuring no religion is favored and no one is discriminated against for their religious or nonreligious views.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
I support strong protections against discrimination in public commerce. If a business serves the public, it should not deny services based on protected characteristics such as race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, while still respecting individuals’ rights to worship and speak according to their beliefs.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
My view is closest to B: government funded healthcare insurance should be available for all who want it, alongside private options. I support a robust public plan, strong regulation of private insurance, and efforts to move toward universal, affordable coverage.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Neutral
I support using anonymized, privacy protected health data to understand public health needs and costs. I do not support identifiable, intrusive databases that could be misused or compromise individual privacy and civil liberties.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
I believe the Chinese government presents significant strategic challenges in military, cyber, and economic domains. The U.S. should respond with strong alliances, smart trade and technology policy, and robust cybersecurity, while avoiding xenophobia and maintaining space for diplomacy and cooperation on global issues like climate.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, it is important. Israel is a longstanding partner in a volatile region, and the relationship affects security, diplomacy, and global stability. I support maintaining that relationship while pressing for human rights, a viable path to peace, and a two-state solution that respects both Israeli and Palestinian rights.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Agree
I support local policies that prioritize community safety and trust, including limiting local law enforcement’s role in federal immigration enforcement. Sanctuary policies can help ensure victims and witnesses feel safe reporting crimes and accessing services without fear of deportation.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Disagree
I do not support eliminating the Department of Education. I support a strong federal role in protecting civil rights, ensuring baseline standards, and funding disadvantaged communities, while states and local districts retain flexibility to innovate and respond to local needs
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Neutral
I support strict transparency and safeguards around foreign funding, especially in higher education, to prevent undue influence. Prohibitions may be appropriate for certain governments or activities, but broadly, regulation and disclosure are better tools than blanket bans.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Neutral
I agree that parents play a central role in their children’s health and education. Government should support families while also ensuring children’s rights, safety, and access to evidence based healthcare and inclusive, high-quality education.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Disagree
I do not agree with that statement. I support age appropriate, evidence-based care for transgender and gender diverse youth, guided by medical professionals, parents, and the young person, with strong safeguards and individualized assessments.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
I support civil marriage equality. Government’s role is to define and administer civil marriage rights and responsibilities, and those should be available to same sex couples. Religious communities remain free to define marriage within their own traditions.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
I am cautious about expanding gambling. Any expansion should be tightly regulated, including strong consumer protections, address addiction and social costs, and ensure revenues are transparently used for public benefit.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I fellowship at the same church, Second Baptist Church for the last 44 years (right here in Las Vegas). I value human dignity, compassion, and justice. I believe policy should reflect care for the vulnerable, respect for diverse beliefs, and a commitment to truth, fairness, and shared responsibility.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
I support making voting as accessible as possible while maintaining election integrity. Photo ID requirements should not disenfranchise eligible voters; if IDs are required, they must be free, easy to obtain, and accompanied by alternative verification methods to ensure no one is turned away.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Neutral
I support serious exploration of reparations and targeted investments to address the enduring impacts of slavery, segregation, and discrimination. That can include direct compensation, community investments, educational and housing programs, and other remedies informed by research and community input.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
I support policies that respect both safety and the dignity of transgender people. Transgender women should not be categorically excluded from women’s spaces and sports; instead, we should develop fair, evidence-based guidelines that consider context, safety, and inclusion.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Agree
I agree. Human caused climate change is a serious global threat, and we need action: transitioning to clean energy, investing in resilience, supporting affected workers and communities, and cooperating internationally.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
A diversified mix is essential, but I see renewables, solar and wind, combined with modernized grids, storage, and some firm low carbon sources (like geothermal and potentially advanced nuclear) as the most reliable long-term path to meet gr
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
I consider myself liberal with a strong emphasis on civil rights and economic fairness.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal should be public safety, accountability, and rehabilitation. We should reduce crime, treat ALL people fairly, address root causes like poverty and addiction, and ensure that when people leave the system, they can successfully reenter society.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Yes. Government should work with platforms, schools, and families to strengthen protections, enforce laws against exploitation, improve digital literacy, and ensure robust reporting and response systems.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Agree
U.S. law should remain secular and based on the Constitution. Religious laws of any tradition should not replace or override civil law, though individuals are free to follow religious practices in their personal lives as long as they comply with U.S. law.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage requirements, closing loopholes on private and online sales, and restricting civilian access to high capacity, military style weapons. These measures respect lawful gun ownership while addressing gun violence and public safety.
