RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

I agree that human life begins at conception and should be protected with the exception of rape or if it is medically necessary to save the life of the mother.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
I believe that schools should have a very limited role. Schools responsibility is to educate and support students as required by California standards. Schools should encourage communication with parents, respect family decisions, and do their best to educate and support the student. Schools should not encourage students to make a specific decision regarding an unplanned pregnancy.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

I believe in higher education and that it needs to be accessible to all who want to attend. When an individual chooses to take out student loans they should be solely responsible for paying for them. I am against government programs that pay off student debt.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Every child in the United States has a right to a free and appropriate public education from K-12. Our neighborhood schools need to be funded. Our children need good teachers, curriculum, and well maintained facilities. However, taxpayers deserve to know where their tax dollars are going and schools need to be fiscally responsible. College and trade schools should be the responsibility of the individual attending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Religious freedom is important. Public schools need to welcome students and families of every faith. They should not impose or prioritize one religion over another. And while I was not able to teach religion, I often prayed silently, to Jesus, for the safety and well-being of my students.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

We need to protect our county and our legal citizens.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

School employees are not medical professionals. They should not make medical decisions or encourage students in the decision making process. A schools role is to support, they can and should recommend talking to parents and seeing their doctor.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Students, like all members of society need rules with consequences. Safe schools require clear student expectations and clear disciplinary guidelines. Students need to understand that choices have consequences. Parents should always be informed and students should always be respected during the process.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

I believe schools should cultivate American patriotism. When I attended school all students sang patriotic songs. These songs were the foundation that helped us learn patriotism. As students grow, depth of knowledge about our county and its founding fathers should increase.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Our country needs to financially support our students, however, the state and local communities should to have the power to make decisions based on student needs in that community.

Sex Ed is a required curriculum by the state of California. It should include human anatomy, the reproductive system, and stages of pregnancy. It should not include sex acts, gender identity, or contraceptives.

We need to teach our children to read, write, and think critically! I would prioritize Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History, Social Emotional Learning, Physical Education, and the Arts at the elementary level. Adding Foreign Language at the middle school level. In high school students should continue learning all of the above while adding, Civics, Personal Finances, and Vocational Learning for those who are probably not college bound.
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

I support school choice, parents should be able to make decisions about their child and choose the one that best meets their needs. Parents are the experts when it comes to their child. However, I don't believe that competition will improve our neighborhood schools.

I am a born again Christian. I believe in Jesus, that He died on the cross for our sins, and that He is the only way to Heaven! I choose to follow Him everyday and do my best to try to become more like Him. I am a member at my local church where I serve welcoming individuals, leading a women's group, and more. My spiritual beliefs create my core values - I try to love others, work with passion, and lead with humility and honesty. I am thankful that the Lord blesses, forgives and encourages.

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

I am endorsed by the San Diego Gun Owners Association and support the Second Amendment. Responsible gun ownership is a right. That includes regular training, background checks, and appropriate licenses. In the event of an active shooter, seconds count and responsible gun ownership can save lives.
