What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Offering counseling in the options that are available to them and the variety of services that the community (including religious counseling ie all available) has to offer to the student.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

That argument misunderstands both how taxes work and why governments invests in the public good. We all contribute to programs we may not personally use. People without children pay taxes for schools, Healthy people pay help fund for healthcare programs. We pay for fire dept we hope we never have to use. We do all these things because an educated, healthy stable population benefits the entire country- not just the individuals that receive the actual assistance.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I believe the funding of public education is one of the most important investments our government can make and we are not funding it at the level our children, educators and communities deserve. The investment should begin with a high quality pre-k and continue on from there with highly educated teachers, in well-maintained schools, with all the supplies they need and manageable class sizes where they aren't controlled by test scores.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I think as long as there are tests there will be prayer in schools. To me personally I just think it means that a school system should be neutral when it comes to promoting one particular religion. If you are gonna post the 10 commandments then have a statue of Buddah in a garden somewhere. Make it equal.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

I believe our country has both the right and responsibility to maintain secure borders and enforce its laws. Nobody wants to have criminals here. However, enforcement must always be constitutional, humane and consistent with our nation's commitment to due process and basic human dignity.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

I think it should be a resource in guidance but no an instruction by any means.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

I think an education in the founding documents is just a part of teaching history. I think in learning about America you naturally inspire patriotism. That's not something that can even be taught but if it can it would most definitely happen in a history class. I taught English tho and i have to say that there were lots of stories that I taught that would have inspired patriotism so much so that we took up donations and mailed packages to soldiers. One was to a student's dad and he called!
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

I do not support eliminating the United States Department of Education. I believe states and local communities should have a strong voice in how their schools operate because parents educators and local leaders understand the needs of their students. However local control and federal oversight are not mutually exclusive. We can respect local decision making while maintaining national accountability for federal funding and student rights especially in regards to students with special needs.

I don't have a problem with any of these if they are age appropriate and there's parental consent. When you have kids in 7th grade getting pregnant it's not like they aren't having sex.

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

I'm probably the most middle of the road on this. I believe every student, including transgender students deserve to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect. No student should be bullied, humiliated or excluded from school life simply because of who they are. I don't support broadly excluding transgender people from public spaces. That being said as having been a student athlete myself I don't think it would be fair to compete against someone who was biologically male. I'm VERY torn
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, at the center of my faith is the belief that every person is created in the image of God & possesses inherent worth and dignity. I'm called to love my neighbor, welcome the stranger, care for children, stand beside the most vulnerable. I believe I may be the only Bible someone may see so my actions are very important. It's not enough to talk about love, kindness and justice we must practice those values in the way we treat others. My core spiritual values include compassion, honesty, humility, mercy, service, justice and responsible stewardship. Jesus reached our to the marginalized his example reminds me to listen before judging and always extend grace and recognize I may not know the burdens another person may carry.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Virginia Law states that libraries are protected. However that doesn't mean "anything goes" in the library. Hopefully each library has a library board that they are accountable to. That's one of the policies I hope to implement in each of our 4 schools it that each Librarian establish their own library board to deal with these type of issues before they ever happen.

Its recorded. I honestly don't remember. I vote in as many elections as I possibly can. I have a rare autoimmune disease tho so I'm sure I've been sick and missed some.

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

I just think it would end up being the faculty member that DOES NOT need to have the gun. I could think of some faculty members that I would totally trust with a gun and some that I would absolutely be terrified to think that they were armed. I've known people that had their wallets stolen. Who's gonna watch their gun?
