QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

These providers provide way more than abortions.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

That is a question that should be left to a woman and her medical provider.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

Again, that should be between the woman, or if she is incapacitated, her family

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Disagree

That essentially would end IVF. Whether to store or destroy should be the decision of the people they belong to.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

People should be paid a living wage. In Alabama, that is $7.25, which is NOT a living wage.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

With the caveat that free enterprise should not be free to the point that it causes harm to others.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1) End no-bid contracts to political cronies 2) ICE is vastly overfunded 3) End to starting wars for political or personal gain 4) In Alabama, stop passing unconstitutional laws and frivolous lawsuits by the state 5) Stop culture wars which waste time and money in the state and Congress 6) Repeal the Choose Act 7) End pork projects

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Religion should not enter into government in any form. The Constitution gives us the right to worship as we please or not. By faith I am a Christian. That is my moral compass. My legal compass is the U.S. Constitution

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

It depends; I support religious liberty, but I also believe people should have access to needed goods and services. There is a difference between a service that is readily available elsewhere and one that effectively denies someone access. Just as businesses have rights, consumers have a right to choose where they spend money, including boycotting businesses they disagree with and encouraging others to do the same.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B is my answer. Personally, I believe the option should remain for private healthcare as long as options provide everyone with the best healthcare at an affordable cost,

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

This is dangerous, especially in the current administration and any like it that may follow.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The danger lies in China's threat to Taiwan, which, if we follow our treaty, would engage us. There are very serious threats other than military. I believe the non-military threats are imminent and ongoing and pose serious threats.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

No is not as important as this administration is making it. Right now, Israel's leadership is calling the shots to the point of what appears to be genocide. It is Israel that is fueling military action

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Agree

I do not support harboring dangerous criminals. However, I strongly disagree with the current approach of this administration and ICE.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

The education department is not in control. However it is needed for guidelines and standards as well as help with specialized programs.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

I do not have enough information to decide whether I agree or disagree. I can see negatives and positives, but not enough to decide.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

As long as they do not push their beliefs on others, they have the option to homeschool.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Disagree

Transition should be carefully discussed between parents and qualified medical providers, not politicians.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

People need to mind their own business and per the U. S. Constitution, should not push their beliefs on others.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

I strongly support a lottery

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
