QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe, as President Reagan put it simply, if a pregnant woman is attacked and because of that attack that mother has a miscarriage, that criminal should be charged with murder, not assault and battery.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
It is the obligation of the school system to provide the utmost education to each and every student, even if that student is a mother. It is our job in the community to ensure that the student has proper accommodations and resources to help her through raising her child. No student should be left behind because of a pregnancy, and no child, whether born or not, should be hurt because of a pregnancy.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
How can we properly prepare our youth if we are going to pay for their debt? What does that teach them? Nobody will be there to pay their house mortgage or car loans. It is also not right to expect the taxpayers of America to pay the debt of our youth; it only creates a crutch for them to lean on. At the same time, the government needs to realize that approving all loans for college is wrong; we should only be approving ones that we know will make money back.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I believe in school choice and the voucher program, which allows parents to decide where to send their child for education, along with deciding where to send their taxpayer dollars. I do not believe that the federal government should fund college and secondary education, as each path is different for each individual and there would be no fair or legitimate way to pay for all secondary education paths, especially for those who do not plan to go into a secondary path.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I believe that the school system should welcome all local churches to the campus to start clubs and youth ministries, while also allowing students to practice their religion, within reason, on school grounds. Churches are just as much a part of the community as the school is, and we should all be working together for the betterment of the county.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Strongly Agree
I believe that if we want strong and safe communities, we need to know who is in them. We have undocumented immigrants who do not pay taxes, and we do not know who they are, not to mention that they are stealing jobs away from American citizens. If immigrants came here legally and kept their paperwork in check, then that would be one thing. However, those who snuck into our country pose a serious danger because we do not know who they are.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Our job in the school system is to provide the best education we can, not to provide abortion and gender-affirming care; that is the parent's responsibility.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
The school system is designed to prepare our youth for the workforce, which also means how to work and act in professional environments. If we let the small bad behavior go, then what stops the rest? Not to mention that an environment caused by bad actors affects the environment for all students. What we also need to do is send a student handbook to every parent and student so every family knows the rules and policies of the school and their ramifications.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Our country is founded on these principles and documents; how can we call ourselves Americans if we do not know the history and how America acts and behaves? We need to have a strong understanding of how America works and how our country came about.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The Constitution clearly states that what is not mentioned in the Constitution is left up to the states. Nowhere does it say that the Federal Government is to control what is taught in each and every state. Each state has a different history and it would be best to leave that history and curriculum up to those in the states.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I believe the following should be taught at the appropriate age: abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; stages of pregnancy and fetal development. On top of that, these topics will be optional and need parental approval to be taught to each student.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts, Mathematics, Civics, American History, Science, Personal Finances, Vocational Learning, Physical Fitness, Foreign Language, Information Technology, and Art & Music.
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
Our country has many traditions, and there is no question that our country is the most unique and filled with rich history. It is important to teach the next generation those traditions such as Independence Day and Thanksgiving, along with why we have a self-government and how that type of government works.
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Strongly Agree
For too long we have had schools that simply force the one-size-fits-all style of education. We are humans and we should allow schools as unique as we are. Not to mention the competition that comes from school choice; we live in a capitalist society, and our schools should also compete. Many schools stay stagnant because they see no point in improving, but school choice drives the schools to do better.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
I firmly believe that biological men should play in men's sports and biological women should play in women's sports. Simple science proves that men can throw a ball significantly faster, run faster, and outperform women in sports. Nothing against women, but during puberty, men get bigger lungs and more muscle mass from testosterone. On top of that, for the safety of our children, men should be in men's locker rooms and women in women's locker rooms; it's a liability for them not to be.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Roman Catholic; I believe in Jesus and His teachings. I do not judge others for their opinions, as long as they do not affect me or others. You can live whatever life you want and do whatever you want, but it should not affect me and the community around us. I am also someone who believes in state's and local rights. I do not believe the federal government is the solution to every problem; I believe our community is the solution. We live in a republic; we elect leaders to represent us, and I hope to be that leader. I am also a proud Eagle Scout and Boy Scout. I try every day to do a good turn and to live up to the Scout Law and Oath. I make mistakes, but I will always willing to learn from them and take responsibility for them.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Children do not belong to the government or to the schools. In most cases, parents will always have the best interest in their child's health and educational well-being. As a school board member, I plan to never get in the way of parents doing what they believe is best for their child's health and well-being.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
I do not care what you look like, what your religion is, or what your background is—none of that really matters. It matters what you do, how you do it, and what you can accomplish. We should never judge someone based on how they look; instead, it should be based on what they can accomplish.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
As a Roman Catholic, I believe that marriage is a God-ordained, sacred, and legal union of one man and one woman. At the same time, the Supreme Court ruled that the fundamental right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples by the Fourteenth Amendment, but I also believe churches have the right to not conduct a marriage between same-sex couples.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Strongly Agree
I do believe that both of these are mental issues that need to be treated, though treatment looks different for each person. On the school board, I will direct that the treatment decision be left up to the parents, as long as it poses no harm to the child, as stated in Florida law.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Strongly Disagree
I firmly believe that schools should put books into categories similar to movies. No child in a K-12 public school should be watching a TV-MA movie at school, and no child should be reading books in a similar category as a TV-MA movie.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
When growing up in New Jersey, I went to the polling location and watched my parents vote. The system is based on signatures; the poll worker shows you how you signed last time and shows you where to sign this year. On top of that my Nonna, who passed away years ago, was still on the voter log. Someone could go in, say they were that person, look at the last time she signed, and match it. Having proper I.D., whether it's a photo I.D. or a utility bill, it is important to have secure elections.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
None of them
I am 19, this will be the first election I vote in.
What political party are you affiliated with?
Republican Party
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I believe in less government intervention, lower taxes, freedom of speech and religion, the right to bear arms and that child not born yet is still a human being that has rights. I stand up for law enforcement, firefighters, and the brave veterans who protect our country and make it what it is. I am against the progressive Socialist and Communist movement occurring in our country.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Strongly Agree
We approach gun safety incorrectly. Schools neglect the teaching of proper gun safety. Since nearly half of our country's population owns firearms, our students will most likely encounter one in their future. Trained and licensed faculty members and teachers must be allowed to carry firearms to respond to active shooters. Furthermore, knowing that teachers are armed will actively deter individuals from targeting our schools in the first place, ensuring a safer environment for our students.
