The school’s role should be limited but important: immediately involve the student’s parent or guardian, follow all applicable laws and reporting requirements, and connect the family with appropriate resources so the student is safe, supported, and able to continue her education. Schools should not replace parents or make life altering decisions for a minor, but they should respond with compassion, protect the student’s well being, and help ensure she does not lose access to her education.

I strongly agree. Broad student loan forgiveness shifts personal debt onto taxpayers, including families who did not attend college, parents who sacrificed to pay tuition, students who worked through school, graduates who repaid their loans, and workers who chose trades, military, or other career paths. We should focus on affordability, financial literacy, responsible borrowing, workforce pathways, and holding colleges accountable for costs and outcomes.

Public education is a core responsibility of government and should be funded responsibly, transparently, and with accountability. From Pre-K through postsecondary, funding should prioritize safe schools, strong academics, qualified teachers, reliable transportation, CTE, special needs services, affordability, and workforce readiness. Education is also a national security issue. Students must think critically, understand civics, and compete in the national and world economies.

Separation of church and state means government should not establish, control, or favor a state religion. It does not mean faith must be erased from public life. In schools, we should protect religious liberty and treat students fairly regardless of belief. The Bible is also part of world history, literature, culture, humanities, and archaeology, and may be studied objectively in appropriate academic courses without schools promoting or opposing religion.

Federal immigration laws should be enforced. My mother came to this country legally 50 years ago, so I value lawful immigration and the opportunities America provides. Safe communities depend on the rule of law, appropriate agency cooperation, and clear boundaries. Schools should remain focused on educating students while supporting lawful, safe communities.

Schools should not use abortion providers, gender affirming providers, or Planned Parenthood as resources for instruction or services. These are sensitive medical, moral, and parental rights issues that belong with parents, guardians, licensed medical professionals chosen by the family, and applicable law, not outside advocacy organizations in schools. Schools should focus on academics, student safety, and supporting families without undermining parental authority.

Discipline means to teach, and that begins at home. Parents must work with schools when behavior problems arise, and schools can offer resources to help families reinforce expectations, responsibility, and respect. Discipline should protect learning while helping students grow.

Students should receive a thorough education in America’s founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights, Federalist Papers, and other primary sources. They should not just memorize excerpts, they should read, discuss, write about, and explain these principles in their own words. True civic understanding comes when students can think critically and connect our founding ideals to citizenship today.

However, I do believe some federal oversight may be necessary to protect students, parental rights, fiscal responsibility, civil rights, and national security. Students should learn to think critically, understand America’s founding principles, reject socialism and communism, and compete in the world economy. Oversight should be limited, accountable, and transparent.

Sex education should primarily be a moral and family conversation, not a school lesson. At most, schools may provide PARENTS with an age appropriate guide on human anatomy, development, safety, and how to discuss these topics at home. Instruction on abortion, sexual acts, pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and related moral issues should remain with parents and guardians, consistent with their values and beliefs.

Students are not just minds, they are body, mind, and soul. Healthy, active children are better prepared to learn, think clearly, manage stress, and develop habits that support lifelong success.

Students need strong reading, writing, math, science, history, and civics, along with personal responsibility, respect, discipline, honesty, and service. Preserving American traditions does not mean ignoring flaws, it means teaching students to understand our founding principles and become informed, capable citizens.

Public schools should not fear competition, they should learn from it. The goal of the School Board is to serve all Pasco students, whether in public, charter, private, homeschool, or career pathways. Education should be a public private partnership that improves outcomes for every child.

Women’s sports and private spaces must be protected based on biological sex. This is about fairness, safety, privacy, and reality, especially for girls and women in schools, locker rooms, bathrooms, shelters, sororities, and prisons. With about 1 in 4 U.S. women experiencing rape or attempted rape, and many assaults never reported, policies must not increase vulnerability. Respecting all people cannot mean sacrificing women’s safety.

My faith is central to who I am and how I try to live. I am a Christian, and I believe every person is created with dignity, purpose, and value. My values are grounded in faith, family, service, personal responsibility, compassion, truth, and accountability. I believe we are called to love our neighbors, protect children, serve others, and steward resources wisely. As a public servant, my role is not to impose my faith on others, but my faith does shape my commitment to integrity, parental rights, strong families, safe schools, and policies that respect human dignity. I believe leadership should be humble, honest, courageous, and focused on serving all people well.

Government should recognize parents’ fundamental right and duty to direct their child’s health, education, and well being. Schools should partner with parents, not keep secrets from them or replace them. Pregnancy, suicidal thoughts, gender related decisions, and serious concerns should be shared with parents promptly. Separate from that, schools must follow mandatory reporting laws when there is suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or serious harm.

I support Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s teaching that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Schools should teach the dignity and worth of every person, equal treatment under the law, and high expectations for all students. I do not support policies that divide students by race or assign advantage, blame, or lowered expectations based on skin color.

My personal belief is that marriage, as a sacred covenant before God, is the union of one man and one woman. That belief is rooted in my Christian faith and is not changed or diluted by government terminology or legal arrangements. Government may decide what civil structures it recognizes for legal rights and responsibilities, such as civil unions, contracts, benefits, inheritance, medical decision making, and other legal protections, but it does not define the spiritual meaning of marriage.

Anorexia and gender dysphoria are both serious mental health issues that should be addressed with compassion, honesty, parental authority, and appropriate professional care. Schools should not affirm harmful beliefs, hide concerns from parents, or steer children toward social or medical decisions. Parents must be promptly informed and remain the primary decision makers for their child’s care, safety, long term health, stability, and well being.

School books should be age appropriate and not exempt from obscenity standards because someone claims literary value. This is not book banning, it is parental rights and child protection. It is hypocritical to warn parents about pornography and mature internet or social media content and access, then excuse the same material in school libraries. Adults can access mature books elsewhere, the public library or online bookstores. Parents should not have to fear explicit sexual content at school.

Photo identification is a reasonable safeguard for election integrity. Voting is a sacred civic responsibility, and voters should have confidence that every legal vote is protected and every voter is properly verified. Requiring photo ID is not unreasonable when identification is already required for many basic activities such as flying, banking, and government services. Election laws should make voting accessible for eligible citizens while also protecting against fraud, error, and abuse.

I would describe myself as very conservative. My views are rooted in faith, family, parental rights, fiscal responsibility, limited and accountable government, public safety, personal responsibility, school choice, election integrity, and respect for the Constitution. I believe schools should focus on academics, character, civic understanding, student safety, and preparing children for real life while respecting parents and protecting taxpayers.

Teachers should not be expected to carry firearms or take on the added pressure and risk of responding to an active shooter. They already carry too much with student behavior, mandates, bureaucracy, and teaching. With modern tools and technology, school safety should be handled through law enforcement, guardians, K9s, single access points, hardened facilities, cameras, AI threat detection, and communication systems.
