RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe every human life has inherent dignity and value and should be treated with respect and compassion at every stage of life. At the same time, I recognize that questions surrounding the beginning and end of life involve deeply personal, moral, medical, and legal considerations. As a candidate for School Board, my responsibility is to faithfully uphold the law and focus on the Board's core mission: improving student outcomes, supporting families and ensuring safe schools.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Schools should respond to a student facing an unwanted or crisis pregnancy with compassion, confidentiality, and appropriate support. The school’s role is not to direct the student toward a particular personal or medical decision, but to protect her safety, connect her with qualified counselors and lawful resources, involve parents or guardians when required, and ensure she can continue her education without discrimination or stigma. District policies should respect parental rights, protect student privacy, comply with the law, and ensure every student is treated with dignity and supported toward graduation.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Disagree

Student loan debt is a serious concern, but broad forgiveness can unfairly shift costs to taxpayers who did not borrow or already repaid their loans. Solutions should be targeted, fiscally responsible, and focused on lowering college costs and expanding affordable career pathways.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I strongly support public investment in education from Pre-K through higher education. Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our future workforce, economy, and democracy. Funding should be accountable, transparent, and focused on improving student outcomes. Every student, regardless of background or ZIP code, deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for college, careers, military service, or skilled trades.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Public schools should neither promote nor restrict religion. They must remain neutral, protect every student’s religious freedom, welcome students of all beliefs, and ensure no one is pressured to participate in religious activity.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Neutral

ICE plays an important role in enforcing federal immigration laws and helping protect public safety by identifying and detaining individuals who are in the country unlawfully and who pose a threat to communities. Immigration enforcement should be carried out lawfully, fairly, and with respect for constitutional rights and due process.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Neutral

I do not believe schools should use abortion or gender-affirming providers as resources for instruction or services. Schools should focus on education and student well-being, provide age-appropriate health education consistent with state standards, and refer students to qualified healthcare professionals and community resources in accordance with the law and district policy while respecting parental rights.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

I agree. Clear expectations and consistent, fair consequences are essential to maintaining safe and orderly schools. Discipline should protect learning, hold students accountable, address the cause of misconduct, and provide appropriate support so students can correct their behavior and succeed.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I believe students should receive a thorough education in America's founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Understanding these principles helps students become informed, engaged citizens. I also believe schools should cultivate civic responsibility, appreciation for our nation's history, and respect for the freedoms and democratic institutions that define the United States, while encouraging students to think critically.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I support returning primary responsibility for education to states and local communities. Decisions about curriculum, priorities, and accountability are best made closest to students, families, and educators. I believe the federal government's role should be limited, allowing states and local school systems greater flexibility to innovate and respond to the unique needs of their communities.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Sex education should be age-appropriate, medically accurate, and focused on anatomy, abstinence, consent, contraception, pregnancy and fetal development, healthy relationships, and physical and emotional health. Schools should educate, not advocate, while respecting parental rights.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts Mathematics Science Civics American History Personal Finances Information Technology Vocational Learning Physical Fitness Art & Music Foreign Language Social Emotional Learning Sexuality Gender Identity Political Activism Critical Race Theory

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Neutral

Public schools should prioritize academic excellence while developing the character, civic responsibility, and knowledge students need to preserve our constitutional republic. Strong schools prepare students to think critically, contribute to their communities, and understand the principles, freedoms, and responsibilities that sustain American self-government.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Neutral

School choice can create healthy competition that encourages public schools to innovate, strengthen academic programs, and better serve students. At the same time, all schools receiving public funds should be held to the same high standards of accountability, transparency, and student achievement.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Disagree

I believe policies governing women's sports and sex-separated spaces should protect fairness, safety, and privacy while treating every individual with dignity and respect. Decisions should be guided by biological differences, applicable law, and evidence, with the goal of balancing the rights and well-being of all involved.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My faith is grounded in the belief that every person has inherent dignity, purpose, and worth. I strive to live with integrity, humility, compassion, service, and accountability. These values guide my decisions, strengthen my commitment to serving others, and remind me to lead with wisdom, respect, and grace.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

I believe parents have the fundamental right and primary responsibility to direct their child's health, education, and overall well-being. Government and public schools should respect that role while ensuring every child is safe, receives a high-quality education, and is protected under the law.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

I embrace Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision that every person should be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. I believe equal opportunity, mutual respect, and human dignity are essential principles of a just and inclusive society.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Neutral

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Neutral

I do not believe literary value alone should exempt school library materials from applicable obscenity laws. Schools should provide age-appropriate, educationally relevant materials while complying with the law and maintaining transparent review processes that involve educators, parents, and the community.

People should be able to vote without photo identification.
