What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
A school counselor, can help a student begin with the conversation with parents, as well as guidance to what community resources are available for families.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Who is offering the loan forgiveness? Recently, individual donors have forgiven student debt at medical schools. It is a benefit to a community to have more doctors trained.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I believe in public education. I believe in choice. We can do better and continue to offer choices within the public education system. 1) Safety is a priority with a School Resource Officer on every Campus. 2) We have virtual ed., magnet schools, career technical Ed to receive industry certifications, ESOL classes for adults, dual enrollment allowing students to get college credit while in high school. We have ESE services and gifted education. Let’s survey parents and students for other choices

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means parents can choose to have religious education added to their child’s basic studies through the choices they make when choosing schools.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

ICE should not be on school campuses disrupting and frightening children. Children are at school to be educated in a safe location. ICE can do their job off of and away from school campuses.We should be worried and educating the community about missing children and the prevalence of children being taken for sex trafficking. People in unmarked vans without ID can be working to steal children for sex trafficking. We must keep children safe.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Schools are a place for learning. Disruptions to their education are not acceptable. There is a Code of Conduct policy updated yearly through a process with input, to educate parents on their rights. If a student doesn’t follow the rules, they go through the levels 1-4 all the way to expulsion but parents need to be involved and have the opportunity to be aware of when their children are questioned in any investigations or waive that right. School detention, and PASS programs work to remove them
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

As a teacher, I love teaching history to children through stories, at the appropriate levels for child development. I encourage the emphasis on democracy and how we achieved the rights we love through the Constitutional Convention and the amendment process. We have a representative government, and voting is a basic right. I believe in equal civil rights that were fought for and implemented. I encourage students to always participate in the civic process. I vote to model that in every election.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

I believe that there are federal programs like Exceptional Education programs that need protection Al and a federal agency has done that. As we look at the many tasks under their umbrella, I believe several belong with the state and local agency. The questions does not break down the perview of the DOE so I believe a review of many of our government agencies every few years to on the federal state and local level is a great idea. Who would fairly be able toreview this, would have to be decided.

I was responsible for teaching this topic to 6 th graders my first year of teaching. The curriculum was set by the state through standards voted on by state representatives. There were topics we did not address, at that time. Parents had the right to consent or refuse their child be in the class. As a teacher, my role was to present information and not give my opinion or personal beliefs. I know children need the information. It is up to parents to decide if the school can assist in that process

Electives are determined by the state, and Florida has recently included a personal finance literacy course to be a required elective for one semester between 9-12 grade. The goal of education is to create students who can critically think, solve problems using basic knowledge, learn to read and develop into productive citizens.
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

We do have the responsibility of building academic achievement but character is built in partnership with parents. If there is not any influence at home, we will model kindness, acceptance, and support for others in school.
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Competition has shown the public schools to be superior in the grading system set up by Jen Bush. They rise to the level every year in Orange County due to hard work by students and teachers every year. Strict requirements for certified teachers, hours of professional development, recertification hours, etc.should be universal requirements for all teachers of our students. We should not lower expectations for teachers because they work at a charter or private school, nor home schooled students.
