QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

I support public funding for eligible healthcare services based on the services provided, not political labels. Title X funds are intended for preventive reproductive healthcare, including contraception and cancer screenings, and federal law already prohibits using Title X funds for abortion. Healthcare providers should not be excluded from funding simply because they also provide lawful abortion services.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I believe abortion should remain legal before viability, with reasonable medical safeguards. Decisions about whether to continue a pregnancy are deeply personal and should be made by a woman in consultation with her healthcare provider, not dictated by politicians. I also support appropriate exceptions when the health or life of the pregnant woman is at risk.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Disagree

I respect that Texans hold deeply personal and sincerely held beliefs about when life begins. However, I do not believe government should impose one religious, philosophical, or personal belief on everyone through law. Reproductive healthcare decisions should remain between patients and their healthcare providers, with appropriate medical standards and protections.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

I support Texans' ability to access fertility treatments, including IVF. Decisions regarding embryos created through fertility treatment are deeply personal and should remain with patients, families, and their medical providers. I would oppose legislation that gives embryos legal status in a way that restricts IVF or allows government to interfere with private fertility decisions.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Disagree

I oppose using the Comstock Act to restrict access to legally prescribed abortion medication or other reproductive healthcare. Texans should have access to healthcare prescribed by licensed medical professionals, and medical decisions should be based on evidence and the patient’s circumstances, not on an outdated law being used to restrict lawful healthcare.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Texas’ $7.25 minimum wage has been stagnant since 2009 while costs for housing, groceries, and healthcare surge. In Fort Bend County, basic needs cost far more. I support responsibly raising wages while protecting local small businesses.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise, entrepreneurship and private property rights are fundamental to a strong Texas economy. I support policies that allow businesses to grow, encourage innovation and protect property rights, while recognizing that government has a role in maintaining fair rules, public safety and a level playing field. Economic growth should create opportunity for workers, families and businesses.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

My priorities: -Conduct regular audits of state programs and contracts. -Eliminate duplicative or ineffective programs. -Require greater transparency for taxpayer-funded contracts and spending. -Use performance-based budgeting to measure results. -Strengthen oversight of large state projects and procurement.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means government should neither establish a religion nor favor one faith over another. Everyone should be free to practice their faith, or no faith without government interference. As a representative, I would protect religious freedom while ensuring public policy serves all Texans, regardless of their beliefs.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

I support religious freedom and the right to sincerely held beliefs. At the same time, businesses serving the public should follow laws protecting Texans from discrimination. Religious freedom should not become a blanket exemption from generally applicable laws or a justification for denying people equal access to essential goods and services.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) I believe every Texan should have access to affordable, quality healthcare while preserving the ability to choose private coverage. I support strengthening Medicaid and Medicare, expanding affordable public options, protecting coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, and reducing prescription drug costs. Healthcare policy should expand choices and access while being fiscally responsible.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly oppose creating a government database of individuals based on their medical conditions to measure the economic burden of their care. Texans deserve privacy and dignity when seeking healthcare. Government can use de-identified, aggregate data to understand healthcare needs and costs without creating a database that identifies people by their illnesses.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

The Chinese Communist Party poses real national security, cyber, and economic challenges that require strong federal and state vigilance. However, state policies must remain targeted and precise. I support protecting critical infrastructure while opposing broad measures that infringe on property rights, harm local Asian American communities, or create barriers for legal residents pursuing the American dream in Fort Bend County.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a critical strategic, intelligence, and democratic partner for the U.S. in the Middle East. A strong bilateral relationship is essential for regional security and counterterrorism. At the same time, constructive strategic engagement must advance long-term stability, democratic values, the protection of civilian lives, and diplomatic solutions that support security while fostering regional peace, Palestinian self-determination, and humanitarian considerations.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Neutral

Immigration enforcement is fundamentally a federal responsibility, and Congress must fix our broken system with comprehensive, humane reforms. At the local level, our focus must remain on public safety. I support local police having the tools to address violent crime effectively while maintaining trust so that all residents feel safe reporting crimes. We need real border solutions at the federal level, not unfunded mandates that strain local resources.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

Local school boards and communities know our students' needs best, and state policy must empower local educators. While streamlining federal bureaucracy and expanding local flexibility are vital, eliminating federal education functions entirely risks losing critical funding streams for special education, Title I aid for low-income schools, and Pell Grants. I support maximizing local control while protecting federal resources owed to Fort Bend students.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

Foreign governments, particularly foreign adversaries should not have financial leverage or ideological influence over American educational institutions or curriculum. I support strict transparency laws and statutory prohibitions on state-level foreign funding. However, these measures must remain precisely targeted at state-backed actors so they do not inadvertently create barriers, profiling, or discrimination against international students and researchers.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

Parents know their children best, and state policy must respect family authority in guiding education and healthcare choices. Public schools and state agencies should work in partnership with families through transparency, open communication, and respect for parental leadership. I support protecting parental involvement while ensuring local public schools have the resources needed to deliver high-quality instruction for every student.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Neutral

Sensitive decisions regarding children's medical care and mental health belong in the hands of parents, families, and qualified medical professionals not government mandates or political rhetoric. State policy should prioritize protecting children from harm, expanding access to evidence-based mental health support, and supporting families. I oppose labeling families or medical providers as abusers while advocating for cautious, age-appropriate, and compassionate care.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

While religious institutions retain the absolute right to define, practice, and perform marriage according to their faith traditions without government interference, civil marriage is a legal contract protected by the United States Constitution. I support equal rights and legal protections under the law for all married couples and families, while safeguarding religious liberty for all faith communities.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

While regulated gaming can generate state revenue and local economic activity, state policy must carefully weigh potential revenue against the social and economic costs to local communities. If gambling measures are considered in Texas, decisions must respect local voter approval, prioritize robust consumer protections, and dedicate revenue directly toward property tax relief and infrastructure.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My Christian faith is anchored in love, service to others, humility, and the belief that every person possesses inherent dignity. Guided by my values as a daughter, sister, aunt, and teacher, I strive to act with integrity, practice compassion, and seek justice. In public service, these principles inspire me to put people before politics, bridge divides, and work tirelessly to uplift and protect families across our Fort Bend community.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Verifying voter identity is essential to maintaining confidence in our elections. However, state photo ID requirements must be paired with free, easily accessible identification options, flexible verification methods, and strong assistance for seniors, rural residents, and low-income families. I support protecting election security while ensuring every eligible voter in Fort Bend County can easily cast their ballot.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

Rather than race-based direct cash payments, state policy should focus on targeted, economic investments that expand opportunity for historically underserved communities. I support expanding access to quality public education, affordable homeownership, small business capital, and infrastructure improvements. Investing in economic mobility and fair housing builds lasting wealth and opportunity for all families.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Women’s sports, shelters, and privacy-sensitive facilities were created to guarantee fairness, safety, and equal opportunity for female athletes and women in vulnerable situations. State policy must protect competitive fairness in athletics and ensure safety and privacy in sensitive spaces. At the same time, policy decisions must be handled with compassion, clear standards, and respect for the dignity and safety of all individuals.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Agree

Climate change presents significant economic and environmental risks to Texas, from extreme weather to grid vulnerability. Addressing this threat requires urgent, practical policy solutions that accelerate clean energy innovation, upgrade our state energy grid, and build resilient infrastructure. In Fort Bend County, investing in sustainable energy and flood mitigation creates quality local jobs, lowers long-term energy costs, and protects our neighborhoods.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Reliable power requires nuclear energy and natural gas for steady baseload electricity, paired with expanding solar, wind, and battery storage. Modernizing grid infrastructure ensures energy stays affordable for families.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

I am a pragmatic leader whose principles are rooted in service, integrity, and personal faith. My approach balances support for economic growth, property rights, and fiscal responsibility with a strong commitment to public education, family safety, and community investment. I believe in putting people before politics, bringing diverse voices together, and focusing on common-sense solutions that uplift all families. I am committed to building broad coalitions to deliver real progress.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The criminal justice system must protect public safety, uphold the rule of law, and deliver fair, equal justice. It should hold violent offenders accountable, protect victims, and deter crime while ensuring clear constitutional due process. For non-violent offenses, the system should offer practical rehabilitation, vocational training, and mental health support to reduce recidivism, streamline court backlogs, and help individuals safely re-enter the community.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Protecting children from online predators and sexual exploitation is a vital duty of government and law enforcement. The state must enforce strict penalties against human traffickers and exploitation networks while holding digital platforms accountable for user safety standards. Effective policy pairs robust law enforcement with tools that empower parents, protect child privacy, and keep youth safe across online environments.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The U.S. Constitution and the laws of the State of Texas are the sole legal authority governing our courts and public institutions. No foreign legal code, religious law, or parallel judicial framework can supersede or modify American constitutional rights, legal procedures, or individual protections. Our judicial system must remain uniformly anchored in the U.S. and Texas Constitutions for all citizens.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Public safety is best protected by keeping firearms out of dangerous hands through common-sense safeguards, including comprehensive background checks, mental health screenings, extreme risk protection orders, and closing legal loopholes. We must respect Second Amendment rights for law-abiding citizens while enforcing strong red-flag protections, investing in community violence intervention, and securing our schools.
