What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
The student's immediate health and safety come first, parents should be involved whenever it is safe and appropriate, and the schools role is to support, not to make life-altering decisions for the family.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I support public funding for education from Pre-K through college because education is an investment in our future. However, public funding should come with accountability. Schools, colleges, and universities receiving taxpayer dollars should meet clear standards, follow applicable laws and regulations, and demonstrate responsible stewardship of public funds while maintaining a focus on student success.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, separation of church and state means government should not establish or favor a religion, while also protecting every individual's right to freely exercise their faith. Public schools should welcome students of all beliefs, remain neutral as an institution, and never prohibit voluntary, student-led expressions of faith protected by the Constitution.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

I believe enforcing our immigration laws contributes to public safety and national security. At the same time, enforcement should always be carried out lawfully, with respect for due process and individual rights.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

I believe schools should focus on educating students and providing appropriate counseling and support while involving parents whenever it is safe and appropriate. Medical decisions, including those related to abortion or gender-related care, belong with families and qualified healthcare providers, not within the school setting or through advocacy organizations.

Clear expectations, consistent consequences, and accountability help protect students and staff while minimizing classroom disruptions. Discipline should be fair, age-appropriate and focused on both maintaining safety and helping students learn from their mistakes.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

I believe students should be taught American history honestly and accurately, including both our nation's achievements and its mistakes. Understanding our full history helps students appreciate how we got where we are today, learn from past successes and failures, and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. An honest education doesn't diminish our country, it equips future generations to build on its strengths and address its challenges.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

I believe education decisions should be made as close to students and families as possible. States and local school boards are best equipped to meet their communities' needs. At the same time, the federal government plays an important role in protecting students' rights and administering key funding. School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

I support giving families educational options, but I don't believe competition alone automatically improves public schools. While school choice can encourage innovation, meaningful improvement also depends on strong leadership, engaged families, effective teachers, adequate resources, and accountability. Every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of the school they attend, which is why I selected "Neutral."

My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life and influences how I approach my family, my work and my service to others. I believe God calls us to live with integrity, compassion, humility and courage, while treating others with dignity and respect, even when we disagree. I value truth, personal responsibility, honesty, accountability, servant leadership and caring for my community. My faith guides me to seek wisdom, extend grace, lead by example, and make decisions based on biblical principles rather than political pressure or personal gain.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Schools should provide a safe environment, involve parents whenever appropriate and avoid making medical or psychological decisions that belong to families and qualified healthcare providers.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

I value literature and believe students should have access to high-quality books. However, literary value alone should not automatically exempt material from obscenity laws or age-appropriate review. Parents and local communities should have a meaningful voice in determining what is appropriate for school libraries while ensuring students have access to a broad range of educational resources.

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Neutral
I strongly support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to carry firearms responsibly. However, allowing faculty to carry on campus raises complex school safety questions. While an armed staff member could potentially stop an active threat, there are also risks that deserve careful consideration. My priority is implementing evidence-based policies that best protect students, staff, and our schools.
