RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
We must view this through both a policy and human lens. Women need healthcare access, but we can't ignore that Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, championed eugenics and did not care for Black lives. That legacy still breeds distrust. My goal isn't to cut care, but upgrade it by reallocating 100% of public funding to local community health centers. This protects taxpayer conscience and ensures women receive better, comprehensive, holistic care.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Elective abortion should be a private decision between a woman, her family, and her doctor. While I advocate for strong community healthcare and common-sense limits later in pregnancy, I support a woman's right to make her own choices, especially in tragic cases like rape, incest, or medical emergencies. My focus isn't on restricting personal freedom, but on ensuring women have safe care and that public funds are directed to trusted local clinics that serve the whole community.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
?I deeply respect the sanctity of life, but I also believe the law must recognize the complex realities women face. We can honor the dignity of human life by building strong support systems for mothers and families, while still respecting an individual's personal healthcare decisions. True compassion means funding trusted, local community clinics that provide comprehensive care, ensuring no woman or child is left behind in our neighborhoods.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
I support a woman’s right to choose, and that includes her choice to build a family through IVF. IVF is about creating life, and because those embryos represent the beginning of a wanted child, they deserve ethical protection from purposeful destruction. Supporting personal autonomy and respecting the dignity of human embryos aren't mutually exclusive. We can empower women to make their own healthcare decisions while establishing common-sense frameworks that honor the sanctity of life.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Neutral
?We cannot enforce laws that risk sending women back to the dangerous, unsafe era of back-alley abortions. While I believe in common-sense regulations, the Comstock Act is an outdated 19th-century law. Modern healthcare requires a focus on safety and local control. Decisions regarding reproductive care and medication should be managed by the states and trusted medical professionals, ensuring women are safe, their health is protected, and we never repeat the dark mistakes of our past.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps only works if you have boots. Republicans believe in the dignity of work, but skyrocketing rent and utilities are trapping families. A conservative economy shouldn't rely on taxpayer-funded government assistance
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
?Free enterprise and private property are the ultimate engines of opportunity and self-reliance. When individuals have the right to own property and build businesses, they build the foundation for a strong family and a thriving neighborhood. Our job is to protect these rights from government overreach and burdensome regulations, ensuring that local entrepreneurs and homeowners have a fair shot to invest in our community, create jobs, and build generational wealth.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
?I stand for true property rights, student-first education, and fairness for citizens. Ongoing property taxes mean you never truly own your home; that must end. In education, we must stop funding top-heavy, bloated administrations and redirect those dollars directly into classrooms for modern computer systems and tools that move our children forward. Finally, public benefits belong to the lifelong residents who worked for and paid into them, not to those who haven't contributed.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
When the Republican Party was expanding into the South after the Civil War, it was Black ministers and the Black church that formed the absolute backbone of the party's leadership. Early Black Republican founders and trailblazers—like Bishop Henry McNeal Turner of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and James Lynch (who became Mississippi’s Republican Secretary of State in 1869)—did not separate their faith from their fight for civil rights and economic independence.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The Republican view is rooted in the First Amendment and free enterprise: the government has no right to force private citizens or business owners to violate their deeply held moral or religious beliefs. Forcing someone to choose between their conscience and their livelihood is severe state overreach. True freedom means protecting the religious liberty of every entrepreneur and worker, allowing a free market to naturally work without state coercion penalizing people for their principles.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I support Option C. Medicaid and Medicare provide an essential safety net for our seniors and most vulnerable neighbors, and they must be protected. However, we do not need massive, government-run universal programs that eliminate choice and drive up debt. Instead of expanding bureaucracy, we should focus on protecting these core programs, lowering costs, and empowering a free-market system where private healthcare options can compete to give families affordable, quality care.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
Tracking sick people is a bad idea because those lists are prone to massive errors, privacy leaks, and incorrect data. Shifting the focus to a list of banned ingredients is a much cleaner approach: * **Protects Privacy:** It keeps the government completely out of your personal medical files. * **Fixes the Root Cause:** Banning toxic additives makes healthy living automatic for the whole community. Instead of tracking the fallout, the government should control what goes onto our groce
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Washington’s history of blocking Black wealth created a blind spot foreign adversaries exploit. Globally, the Chinese government buys up U.S. land, but in Wyandotte County’s 35th District, the immediate on-the-ground threat is local resource diversion. The sudden presence of the Cambodian-based "SHE" initiative raises real concerns. Courting foreign business networks under the guise of women's empowerment feels out of touch when homegrown small businesses are fighting to survive.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
You can oppose sanctuary cities while still demanding that everyone be treated with basic human dignity. Rejecting sanctuary policies is about upholding the rule of law, protecting local schools, and ensuring city budgets aren't overwhelmed. But enforcing our borders shouldn't mean losing our humanity. It is entirely possible to support a secure, lawful system that protects local communities while still treating every single person with basic respect and decency.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Disagree
Top-heavy administration leaves students underfunded, and local oversight is failing to stop financial mismanagement. To fix this, we need money following the student directly into the classroom, backed by rigorous state-level auditing to enforce real accountability. Dismantling federal overreach and empowering the state to oversee local boards ensures public tax dollars actually reach our kids instead of getting lost in bureaucratic corruption.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Neutral
The family is the foundation of our society, and a parent's authority over their child is a natural right that no government should ever take away. Distant bureaucracies and school boards have completely overstepped by trying to control a child's education and healthcare. Restoring this power means enforcing absolute transparency in classrooms and protecting medical freedom. Parents, not the state, know and love their children best, and they must always have the final say.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Pushing adult gender ideology and confusing pronouns into children’s media completely disrupts a child's natural development. Cartoons should focus on simple, age-appropriate values—not social engineering. Furthermore, respect goes both ways. Standing on the biological reality that a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl isn't hatred; it's common sense. Forcing kids to use confusing pronouns disrespects their intelligence and overrides basic truth.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
You can want a world filled with more genuine love, kindness, and positivity without believing the sacred definition of marriage should be altered. While the world desperately needs more compassion and goodwill, marriage itself is not a fluid concept or a mere legal contract. It is a holy, God-ordained covenant strictly between one man and one woman. It is entirely possible to lead with a heart of peace toward others while standing firm on biblical truth and traditional values.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
I believe that should be up to my community 6

ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Secure elections require strict voter ID to prevent fraud, but the state must ensure vulnerable citizens aren't left behind. Deploying mobile ID units to nursing homes and senior centers allows the government to issue free IDs, verify identities, and update registrations on-site. This prevents voter fraud and secures the system, while ensuring our elderly and disabled citizens never lose their voice.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Choose not to answer
The shifting of labels like Black, mulatto, or Indian shows how the state stripped people of identity. Framing reparations around this distinct 400-year history of slavery addresses an unprecedented atrocity far worse than any harm previously compensated. The catastrophic truth of what was, and is, endured justifies this unique claim. Ultimately, whether framed via stolen identity, forced labor, or a caste system, a profound, uncorrected systemic injustice requires a tangible remedy.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
?Biology is an unchangeable reality. Allowing biological males into women's sports destroys fair competition, and entering women's bathrooms, shelters, or prisons compromises the safety and privacy of biological women. I respect your choices, but I expect you to respect mine: do not try to alter my mindset or force an acceptance of gender changes that go against biological facts. Biological sex must remain the strict, defining line for fairness and privacy. Period
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Agree
Earth moves in natural warming and cooling cycles; we must respect Mother Nature's power. A conservative view recognizes these historical shifts rather than panicking over political alarmism. As the climate changes and things thaw, it opens new realities. Instead of crippling our economy with heavy-handed government mandates, we should rely on human adaptation, market-driven innovation, and sensible stewardship that balances nature’s cycles with American economic freedom.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
A mixed-use energy approach is the safest, cleanest strategy for a community. Relying on one source creates risk, but mixing clean renewables like wind and solar with steady, zero-emission nuclear power guarantees an unshakeable grid. Clean energy ke
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
My conservatism is rooted in the DNA of the Republican forefathers who founded the party on freedom and justice. That heritage allows me to be a strong conservative with an open mind. I stand on unchangeable realities: protecting sports exclusively for those born to their biological sex, respecting nature's climate cycles, and demanding accountability for historic harms like slavery. True conservatism means defending core truths, protecting local families, and demanding a fair society.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
"No. I have never been penalized for, accused of, or involved in any sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court. I stand firmly against sexual misconduct in any form, under any circumstances. Period."
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
?"No, I have never been convicted of a felony. As a veteran’s widow and mother, I wear two hats and stand alone to protect my family. I am fighting an active case where I stepped in to save my child’s life, and we are expecting a full dismissal if the judge does the right thing. A parent's job is to ensure our kids live to bury us, not the opposite. I stand on the Second Amendment, and anyone who disagrees with protecting your family? I question their integrity."
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
Our justice system is fundamentally broken. Corrupt prosecutors hide evidence, commit Brady-Giglio violations, and ignore violent felonies recommended by police, while abusers violate protection orders with a mere slap on the wrist. When the system fails to protect, it forces our families—even our children—into survival mode just to stay safe. We must rehaul the law: remove absolute immunity to hold crooked officials civilly liable, mandate immediate felony charges for protection order violation
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
"Protecting children from online exploitation is an all-hands duty. While safety begins at home, the city and state have a strict obligation to back parents up. The buck stops with our prosecutors—when cases of child exploitation are handed to them, they must aggressively convict these predators. If they fail to prosecute, the system collapses and our kids are left exposed. From the living room to the courtroom, everyone must be held accountable to keep kids safe."
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Choose not to answer
?"My focus is entirely on the immediate needs of District 35, including property tax relief and historical neighborhood preservation. While America is a vibrant melting pot of diverse cultural communities, all neighborhoods operate strictly under existing local, state, and federal laws. This topic is not an issue facing our district, and I am committed to keeping my legislative priorities centered on the real, everyday issues that directly impact our local working families."
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
?"My focus is on District 35's immediate needs, like tax relief and neighborhood safety. Our communities operate under existing laws, which criminals do not respect. While we must address illegal gun violence, we cannot restrict law-abiding citizens' right to protect their families when facing crime next door. Responsible residents deserve the right to self-defense. I am committed to keeping my legislative priorities centered on the real, everyday safety and financial security of our working fam
