This is not a matter that falls within the authority of the Brevard School Board. While I respect that people hold sincere and deeply held views on this issue, my campaign is focused on the responsibilities of a school board member: academic achievement, fiscal accountability, school safety, and supporting students, teachers, and families.

A school's role is to educate and support students, not to make or influence deeply personal family decisions. Matters involving a student's pregnancy should, whenever appropriate and consistent with the law, be addressed by the student, their parents or guardians, and their healthcare providers. The school should ensure the student has access to a safe learning environment, appropriate academic support, and the opportunity to continue their education, while respecting parental rights and complying with applicable laws and district policies.

Student loan policy is established at the federal level and is outside the authority of a local school board. I believe voters are best served when school board candidates focus on the responsibilities of the office they are seeking. My priorities are ensuring Brevard Public Schools are fiscally responsible, academically strong, transparent, and focused on preparing students for success after graduation, whether they choose college, technical education, military service, or the workforce.

I strongly support public investment in Pre-K through K-12 education, as it benefits not only students, but our entire community. Every child deserves access to a quality education that prepares them for success. Students should have multiple career pathways to success. College is the right choice for some students, while others are better served through technical education, apprenticeships, military service, or workforce training. Public policy should value and support these pathways equitably.

To me, separation of church and state protects every family's religious freedom. Public schools should not promote one faith over another or replace parents in religious instruction. Students should be free to pray individually, participate in voluntary religious clubs, or observe a moment of silence. Likewise, students who choose not to participate should be respected and never face pressure, exclusion, or different treatment.

Immigration enforcement is the responsibility of federal authorities, not a local school board. My responsibility as a school board member is to ensure our schools are safe, focused on education, and in compliance with all applicable laws. My priority is that students are able to learn in a secure environment while the district fulfills its legal obligations and remains focused on its educational mission.

I support age-appropriate, factual health education that is medically accurate, focused on biology, and consistent with state law and parental rights. I do not believe schools should use abortion providers, gender-affirming care providers, or politically affiliated organizations to provide instruction or services to students. Sensitive topics should be handled carefully, factually, and without a pro-life, pro-choice, or ideological agenda.

Every student deserves a safe, orderly classroom where they can learn without disruption. That requires clear expectations, consistent enforcement of school rules, and appropriate consequences when those expectations are not met. Discipline should be fair, age-appropriate, and focused on maintaining a positive learning environment while helping students learn from their mistakes whenever possible.

Students should receive a thorough, age-appropriate, fact-based education in American history, civics, and our founding documents. Understanding the principles on which our nation was founded is essential to preparing informed, engaged citizens. That education should present both our nation's achievements and its challenges honestly, helping students develop the critical thinking skills to understand our history and participate responsibly in our democracy.

Every student deserves access to a high-quality public education, regardless of where they live. There should be clear academic expectations that prepare students for college, careers, and citizenship, while allowing states and local communities flexibility in how they meet and exceed those expectations. My focus would be ensuring that Brevard students receive an excellent education with decisions made based on what best serves students, teachers, and our community rather than partisan politics.

I support age-appropriate, factual, biology-based health education including abstinence, consent, human anatomy & the reproductive system, physical & emotional health outcomes, & stages of pregnancy/fetal development. Students should receive honest information that helps them make responsible decisions. Discussions regarding medical decisions belong with parents & health care providers. Parents should have access to the curriculum in advance and should have the ability to opt their child out.

I believe the following are the core academic priorities of our public schools. While roughly ranked, many are interconnected and all contribute to developing well-rounded, informed, and prepared students: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Civics, American History, Personal Finance, Information Technology, Vocational Learning, Social Emotional Learning, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Foreign Language.

I support Brevard Public Schools' current Guardian Program, which uses carefully vetted, highly trained, non-instructional staff as an additional layer of campus security, in addition to School Resource Officers. Teachers should remain focused on protecting and caring for their students during an emergency while trained Guardians and law enforcement respond to an active threat.
