QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Disagree

Women have autonomy over their bodies and a woman's life takes priority over a fetus. Once a baby is born, the baby must be protected and cared for. Infant mortality and maternal mortality rates are too high. Too many babies die due to lack of healthcare and nutrition.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Choose not to answer

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Women have autonomy over their bodies. Physician and the woman must agree based on the situation.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Complete women's healthcare is critical so any group able to provide the needed medical care particularly in a region where there is limited options should be supported by the federal government. We can save more babies by providing resources during pregnancies and after birth.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

The Comstock act of 1873 is outdated in today's society and should be repealed.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Our wonderful country has been developed through free enterprise by creative Americans and immigrants. Owning a business, land and intellectual property is a wonderful feeling.

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Agree

We need to define what the effective tax rate is and implement it. Having a complex tax system adds fraud and government incurs unnecessary cost. There should be a lower level on the income scale where working people are not taxed.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

Our interest payment is more than our military spend. The interest on the bonds to cover the debt affects the interest rate of our car loans, mortgages, business loans, etc. Taxes could be greatly reduced if the budget was under control. The budget is also affected by the rate of healthcare costs through Medicare and Medicaid.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Simplify the tax code. Put Inspector Generals back in place. Update computers and software systems. Eliminate old laws.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Everyone has a right to their beliefs however just like protesting there could be a price to be paid. You may not be able to have certain jobs and you may lose customers. If you work in a government job or take government money, you should understand you respect the law and others beliefs.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The state runs the government for all individuals with our country. The government does not have a national religion nor is to operate in a manner that promotes any religion. The government should not fund religious organizations unless they provide a service for the people. Religious groups should set the moral tone for the country and should be involved in electing people with good moral character.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B. The federal government should fund preventive healthcare which provides a based income for medical facilities in rural and urban areas and will reduce the cost of healthcare over time. People without employer paid healthcare need options that can only be provided by the government. Medicaid and Medicare need optimized for them to stay viable.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I do not want the government collecting or tracking data on me. It's against my libertarian beliefs.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C. The US has many other options than war to enforce our influence. We have food, petroleum, technology, consumers, education, healthcare, and other items that we can use to get countries to do what we want and to protect ourselves. We only need wars to defend ourselves.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

We do not have a focused effort. Politicians are more concerned about getting theirs and not enough on the needs of the country. Due to lack of focus and specific military spending, we have fallen behind in missile systems, drones, etc. Regarding economic threats, our threat is internally due to the budget and infighting.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The relationship is important but a moral code must be understood. The tail should wag the dog.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Agree

As a Christian nation we will always be a target. We must be wise with our dealings with the Islamic influenced countries. Each our different and should be treated as such. Our behavior has aggravated the situation. We should not wait to intervene like we did in the past, but should be America first.

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I would continue doing thorough background checks. I see immigration as an opportunity that many countries don't have. Those that come must become citizens and maintain a job; otherwise they should be deported. Our history shows how immigrants grow our economy and how they are willing to sacrifice for their new country. Those that sacrificed for us in another country should be allowed to come. We must do better with the criminals that manage to come in and out of this country.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Disagree

We have laws that need to be enforced. Congress needs to develop a better immigration policy and have buy in from all levels of government.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

Local communities have control now. The DoE needs to be optimized and streamlined because they are essentially passing money out. Their research and training arms are critical. Politicians need stop attaching political strings with the government money don't take it and drive real estate taxes lower.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Neutral

Depends upon the country and the disclosure of the funding. Collaboration could be a really good.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Neutral

Please define child. Parents should always have control over their children.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Marriage is dependent upon churches. Unions and recognition of marriages is up to the government.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Each state should have a simple robust system of verifying who is voting. Voter rolls are always a mess because addresses, contact information, etc. are rarely updated or verified. Even a photo id does say where you are currently living or qualified to vote.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

All energy sources are critical. Our refineries need updated to process our crude so we are independent of other petroleum sources. Wind and solar are vital particularly for rural communities that incur transmission costs.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

We need to protect people from sexual exploitation. This means electing people more good moral character.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Based on amount of rules and use of guns, Texas seems to have found a balance of having restrictions, enforcement and liberty to own guns.
