QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Taxpayer dollars should prioritize direct healthcare, maternal care, child welfare, adoption, foster care, and services that strengthen working families. I do not believe taxpayers should be compelled to subsidize elective abortion providers.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I am pro-life, but I also respect the constitutional decisions Kansas voters have made. I support reasonable protections for unborn life while recognizing serious medical emergencies and circumstances involving the life of the mother. My focus is also on reducing the circumstances that lead women to feel abortion is their only option by strengthening families, foster care, adoption, healthcare, and economic stability.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe human life has inherent dignity and deserves protection. That belief should also be reflected after birth hrough stronger child protection, better foster care, support for vulnerable families, care for the elderly, and policies that respect human dignity throughout life.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

I believe embryonic human life deserves respect and protection. At the same time, I support families who rely on responsible fertility treatments such as IVF. Policy should protect human life without unnecessarily preventing couples from pursuing legitimate infertility care.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Neutral

The scope and application of the federal Comstock Act is ultimately a federal legal question. As a Kansas legislator, my responsibility would be Kansas law. I would focus on protecting children and families, respecting Kansas voters, and ensuring state policy is clear, constitutional, and enforceable.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support wages rising through a strong economy, competition for workers, skills training, and good paying jobs. I’m cautious about mandates that can hurt small businesses or eliminate entry-level jobs. My priority is making paychecks go further.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise, private property rights, and entrepreneurship are foundations of economic opportunity. Government should protect those rights, enforce fair rules, and then get out of the way so workers, families, and small businesses can succeed.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Require regular performance audits of state programs. 2. Eliminate duplicative programs and administrative layers. 3. Review tax incentives and subsidies that fail to produce measurable results. 4. Strengthen fraud and improper payment controls. 5. Tie future spending increases to demonstrated results and taxpayer value.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Government should neither establish a religion nor interfere with the free exercise of faith. Separation of church and state protects people of every faith, and those of no faith, from government coercion, while preserving the right of individuals to live and speak according to their beliefs.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Government should not compel individuals to violate sincerely held religious beliefs or force them to express messages they fundamentally oppose. Religious liberty should be protected while maintaining clear, neutral laws that respect the rights and dignity of every Kansan.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C is closest to my view. Medicare and Medicaid serve important populations and should remain available. I do not support a government takeover of healthcare. My priority is lowering healthcare and prescription costs, increasing competition and transparency, protecting rural and community access, and strengthening targeted services for Kansans who truly need them.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Kansans should not have to surrender their medical privacy so government can calculate their economic burden. Policymakers can study healthcare costs using anonymized data without creating identifiable government databases of citizens based on their medical conditions.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party presents real military, cyber, economic and intellectual property threats. We should protect American technology, critical infrastructure, agriculture and supply chains while ensuring Kansas workers and businesses are not put at a disadvantage by foreign adversaries.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is an important strategic ally in a volatile region and a valuable partner in intelligence, security, technology and counterterrorism. Our relationship should strengthen American security, support Israel’s right to defend itself, promote stability and peace, and remain accountable to U.S. interests.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support sanctuary city policies that deliberately obstruct lawful immigration enforcement. We can enforce our laws and secure the border while still treating people with dignity and respecting due process. Local government should cooperate with lawful authorities, especially when serious crimes or public-safety threats are involved.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Education decisions should be made as close to parents, teachers, local schools and states as possible. I support reducing federal bureaucracy and returning greater control to Kansas, while ensuring important protections and funding for students with disabilities and other vulnerable students are not lost in the transition.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

Foreign governments should not be allowed to secretly purchase influence over American schools, research or curriculum. Foreign funding should be transparent, closely scrutinized and prohibited when it creates national-security risks or political influence. Legitimate, fully disclosed academic partnerships should be treated separately.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents are the primary decision makers in their children’s lives. Government and schools should respect parental rights, provide transparency, and work with families, not around them. Those rights must also coexist with our responsibility to protect children from genuine abuse, neglect, or immediate danger.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

Children deserve protection from irreversible medical decisions before they are mature enough to fully understand the consequences. Parents should remain deeply involved, and policy should put child safety first. I would be cautious about defining every conversation or expression by a struggling child as criminal child abuse.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

I personally believe marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. I also recognize the current constitutional and legal status of civil marriage in the United States. As a state legislator, I would protect religious liberty while treating every Kansan with dignity and respect.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Disagree

I am not interested in expanding gambling simply to create another source of government revenue. Gambling can carry serious costs for families and communities. Kansas should focus first on responsible spending, lower taxes, economic growth, and making it easier for working families to get ahead.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Im a proud Christian. My faith teaches me that every person has value, that we are called to serve others, and that leadership comes with a responsibility to protect the vulnerable. I believe in faith, family, personal responsibility, forgiveness, and treating others with dignity, even when we disagree. Those values shape how I approach public service: serve honestly, protect children, help families, and never forget who you work for.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

America should acknowledge its history honestly, but government should not distribute benefits or impose obligations based solely on race. I believe in equal treatment under the law and helping struggling families based on need through better schools, safer neighborhoods, economic opportunity, lower costs, and stronger communities.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

Women and girls deserve fairness in athletics and reasonable privacy and safety in intimate spaces. Biological sex can be relevant in sports, locker rooms, shelters and correctional settings. Policy should recognize those realities while treating every individual with dignity and providing reasonable accommodations when appropriate.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

Climate change is real and human activity contributes to it, but I do not support rushed mandates that raise energy costs on working families. Kansas should pursue cleaner, reliable energy through innovation, conservation, and an all-of-the-above strategy without sacrificing affordability or grid reliability.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear power should play a major role because it provides reliable, around-the-clock electricity with very low emissions. Kansas should also maintain natural gas and expand renewables where they make economic sense.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I consider myself a practical conservative. I believe in limited and accountable government, lower taxes, public safety, parental rights, religious liberty and personal responsibility. But good government requires more than party labels. I will support solutions that work for Kansas families, even when they don’t fit neatly into a partisan box.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

Protect the public, deliver justice for victims, and hold offenders accountable. Rehabilitation and successful reentry matter when appropriate, but public safety must come first. The system should reduce repeat crime, protect children and vulnerable people, and ensure consequences are meaningful and fair.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. Online exploitation, grooming, sextortion and trafficking are serious threats to children. Government should give law enforcement the tools needed to pursue offenders, strengthen prevention and education, and hold those who knowingly enable exploitation accountable.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Agree

The U.S. Constitution and American law must remain the supreme legal authority. No religious code, Islamic, Christian or otherwise, should supersede constitutional rights or civil law. At the same time, every American should remain free to practice their faith within the law.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Law-abiding Kansans should not lose constitutional rights because criminals break the law. I support enforcing existing laws that keep firearms from violent felons and individuals legally adjudicated dangerous, with strong due-process protections. We should focus on gun crime, illegal trafficking, domestic violence, and mental-health intervention, not new burdens on responsible gun owners.
