RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I do not believe taxpayer dollars should be used to fund elective abortions or subsidize organizations that perform them. Most states already limit taxpayer-funded abortions to the exceptions established under federal law—rape, incest, and situations where the life of the mother is at risk—and I support maintaining those exceptions.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I am generally cautious about government involvement in personal medical decisions. Rather than focusing on criminalization, I believe we should focus on making abortion less common by ensuring women have meaningful alternatives and support. When women have access to affordable healthcare, strong family support, adoption resources, childcare assistance, and economic stability, they are more likely to feel empowered to carry a pregnancy to term.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe human life has inherent value and dignity from conception until natural death. At every stage of life, we should strive to protect and respect human life.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Neutral

I believe human life has value from its earliest stages, including embryos created through artificial reproductive technologies. For that reason, I believe we should treat embryos with respect and work to minimize the purposeful destruction of viable embryos whenever possible.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Neutral

I have concerns about abortion, but I do not believe a 19th-century federal law is the best way to address the issue. My focus is on supporting women and reducing unintended pregnancies and abortions through positive alternatives.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I am cautious about large government-mandated increases because those costs are often passed on through higher prices, reduced hours, fewer job opportunities, or added pressure on small businesses.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

My priorities for reducing government waste are improving coordination between assistance programs to reduce duplication and bureaucracy, requiring clear budgets and measurable results for government programs, strengthening fraud prevention and oversight, and protecting whistleblowers who expose waste and abuse. Taxpayers deserve accountability, transparency, and assurance that every dollar is being spent effectively.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, separation of church and state means government should not establish or control a religion, and people should be free to practice their faith without government interference. Religious liberty is one of our nation's founding principles, and many sacrificed greatly to secure that freedom. I believe individuals, churches, and faith-based organizations should be able to operate according to their sincerely held beliefs while government serves all citizens fairly.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

I believe people should be treated with dignity and respect, and businesses that serve the public should not discriminate against customers. At the same time, I do not believe individuals should be forced by the government to violate their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs, particularly when it involves creating custom expressive work or speech. We should seek practical solutions that protect both religious liberty and fair treatment for all.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I believe Medicare and Medicaid serve important roles for seniors, people with disabilities, and those facing financial hardship. However, I do not support a government-run healthcare system that replaces private insurance options. Patients should have choices, competition should help control costs, and healthcare decisions should remain as close to patients and their doctors as possible. My focus is on improving affordability, access, and transparency.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

No. While policymakers need reliable health data to make informed decisions, individual medical privacy must be protected.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a long-standing ally of the United States and an important partner in intelligence, technology, and regional security. I believe maintaining strong relationships with our allies helps promote stability and protect American interests. At the same time, U.S. foreign policy should always prioritize the safety, security, and prosperity of the American people, and taxpayer dollars should be spent responsibly and with clear objectives.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Disagree

I do not support sanctuary city policies. While many undocumented immigrants are hardworking individuals and families, I believe local, state, and federal governments should cooperate in enforcing the law and protecting public safety. Policies that limit cooperation with immigration authorities can make it more difficult to identify and remove individuals who pose a threat to the community. We should pursue immigration policies that are both compassionate and lawful.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Neutral

I support greater local and state control over education. Parents, teachers, school boards, and state leaders are better positioned to understand the needs of their communities than federal bureaucracies in Washington. While the federal government has a role in enforcing civil rights and administering programs established by Congress, I believe education decisions are generally best made closer to students, families, and local schools.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the primary responsibility for raising their children and generally know their child's needs, strengths, and challenges better than anyone else. Government, schools, and healthcare providers should work in partnership with parents and respect their fundamental role in directing their child's health, education, and overall well-being, while ensuring children are safe and have the opportunity to succeed.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

I do not support irreversible medical interventions for minors. Children experiencing gender-related distress deserve compassion, support, and appropriate mental health care. Because these situations are often complex, I believe decisions should be made carefully with parents involved, and I am cautious about broad labels that do not account for individual circumstances.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Same-sex marriage is legally recognized, and I am not seeking to change that law. I believe people should be free to live their lives according to their own beliefs, just as people of faith should be free to live according to theirs. My priority is protecting religious liberty, strengthening families, and ensuring that people with differing beliefs can live and work together with mutual respect.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Choose not to answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Catholic, and my faith has remained an important part of my life, though like many people, my journey has included seasons of growth and questioning. After drifting from my faith during college, I found a renewed relationship with God through raising my children, attending River Valley Church, and being surrounded by a supportive faith community. My faith guides my values of service, compassion, integrity, and personal responsibility. While I will represent all constituents regardless of their beliefs, I am always willing to pray and offer encouragement during difficult times.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Requiring photo identification is a reasonable safeguard that helps verify identity, promotes accountability, and strengthens confidence in our election system while ensuring eligible citizens can exercise their right to vote.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Neutral

I believe climate change is real and that human activity plays a role. However, I do not view it as the most urgent challenge facing Minnesota families today. We should pursue practical, cost-effective solutions that protect our environment without placing unnecessary burdens on working families, consumers, or small businesses. I believe policymakers should focus on balancing environmental stewardship with economic growth, energy reliability, and affordability.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

To meet growing electricity demand, we need reliable energy sources that are available when people need them. I believe natural gas and nuclear power are currently the most dependable options for providing consistent, affordable electricity at scale.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I would describe myself as lean conservative. I believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility, personal freedom, strong families, religious liberty, and local control. I believe people should have the freedom to live their lives and make their own choices, provided they are not harming others. I try to approach issues pragmatically, listen to different perspectives, and focus on solutions rather than ideology.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The primary goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect innocent people and keep communities safe. It should hold offenders accountable while also providing opportunities for rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society when appropriate. A strong justice system balances public safety, accountability, fairness, and the reduction of future crime.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I strongly support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to own firearms.
