QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I believe that Planned Parenthood provides health services that are beneficial to low-income individuals or those without medical insurance, which are valuable. I do not think they should provide abortion services with taxpayer money. I would retain the other health services they offer.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest, and the probability of the birth mother dying.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Neutral
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
All laws should be enforced.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Minimum wage is a benchmark that should fluctuate from state to state, based on the cost of living. I do not think increases should go beyond the standard inflation rate.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Consolidation of state facilities to reduce cost. 2. Budget reviews by department to determine overspending and penalize those departments for next FY's budget (If you can't plan or stick to the budget, you receive less the following year) 3. Recoupment of unobligated funds annually. Departments must obligate funds as programmed in any FY budget. Unobligated funds will be returned to the state at the end of the FY. Excess unobligated funds lead to wasteful projects and spending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
No single religious entity influences the actions of the government. Nor does the government influence any practice of religion.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Option C. Government options must exist for those less fortunate.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
China represents the pacing threat that should occupy most of our national security apparatus's attention.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel's continued right to exist should not be in question. Our partnership should be for the common defense of Israel and its strategic location in the Middle East.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Neutral
I believe that the DOE provides a baseline that students should have to achieve nationwide. I do not believe that, beyond assisting in funding for programs, the Department of Education has any business directing education or imposing additional requirements at the state level.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised a Catholic and confirmed. I am grounded by my belief system within my faith, and I do not expect others to believe or feel the same way about religion as I do. I support everyone's right to believe in the faith they wish to in accordance with the 1st ammendment.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I live in Alaska. Mail-in ballots are the way of the land here, as only 30% of our population lives on a road system or even has a polling location. For mail-in voting in my state, a photo ID isn't always practical.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Neutral
Climate change is real; there are physical impacts. I believe the government can take steps as we legislate on items that will have an environmental impact. However, I do not think it requires dedicated committee work to combat.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
In order - Nuclear ??, LNG, carbon capture coal, renewables.
