QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Life is precious, begins at conception and ends at natural death. I am Christian Conservative who believes every life has dignity and value. I am unequivocally pro-life and will fight to preserve life.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
I supports families who want to have children. IVF is a hopeful path for many, and there are other methods for other families. I stands with those families.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I am is pro-life and believe these are deeply personal decisions that involve families, faith, and doctors - not Washington bureaucrats.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I am both pro-life and fiscally responsible. I do not believe that Wyomingite families' tax dollars should go to institutions who provide, facilitate, or administer abortions.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
As with other interstate laws, this law in particular should be enforced. Mothers who are in a desperate position deserve more than to die alone because they took a pill. I will work to strengthen adoption programs and make it easier and faster to adopt children, while maintaining thorough vetting. Children are our most precious gifts and I will fight to preserve the lives of all children.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise and the free market system has made this country the strongest the world has ever seen. I will always fight to uphold our unique economic system because it has proven time and time again to be the best at job growth, individual wealth growth, and overall well-being.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Disagree
Our tax system is already the most burdensome tax system in the world. When people who earn the most in our society are taxed at 45 or 50%, they simply leave our state or country to a more tax friendly place. This deprives our local economy of jobs and earned wages for American citizens. Taxes are a fact of life and I understand their necessity but I will not vote to increase them and I will fight to reduce them and make sure that the taxes that are collected are not going to fraud or waste.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
As a fiscal conservative, I believe that the United States does not have a revenue problem, Congress has a spending problem. We simply cannot continue spending more money than we bring in. In Congress, I will fight for common-sense fiscal policies such as pay-fors, reduction in regulations and fees, and a hard look at our entitlement programs. These programs account for 72% of our annual spending but run on autopilot.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Hold states accountable for fraud and waste in their use of federal tax dollars such as funds for medicare, medicaid, snap, etc. up to and including withholding federal funding. Take a hard look at mandatory spending which is 73% of all federal spending. Reducing this by 1% year over year would not only reduce waste but would also put the United States on the path to a balanced budget. Enforce "sunset" provisions on government programs.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The Supreme Court has ruled in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis (2023), that the government cannot compel a business owner to create custom, artistic, or expressive work that forces them to endorse ideas they disagree with. I wholeheartedly agree with this, business owners should not be forced to administer services to individuals in anyway that would violate their moral or religious beliefs.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The separation of church and state is engrained in the Constitution, meaning that all religious beliefs, religions, etc, have the right to peacefully assemble and practice their faith. This does not change the fact that the United States is a Christian country, founded by Christians who came here to be practice their religion in peace and safety.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C - Medicaid and Medicare service the most economically challenged and elderly citizens we have. Most recipients have paid into this benefit through their years of work. Illegal aliens and people who have overstayed their visas should never receive one dollar of taxpayer money for healthcare. Additionally, Obamacare has failed and that law should be rescinded, it has only added to the rising cost of healthcare and profits for healthcare companies. It has not made healthcare affordable.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
While I understand the nature of the question and the usefulness of the information to track healthcare costs, HIPAA protects the health information of American citizens and would be a gross violation of Americans' privacy. Another database that the government could eventually weaponize is not freedom or liberty, and I strongly oppose the creation of any additional government databases.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C - The United States should only become involved in the affairs of other countries militarily when that country or its actions present a grave danger and threat to the sovereignty of the United States or the safety of American citizens abroad. i applaud President Trump's actions in Venezuela as the leader of that country was a known drug trafficker import fentanyl into the United States. I also support President Trump's actions in Iran, as that nation can never possess a nuclear weapon.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The CCP is the United States biggest global opponent and adversary. Congress must take actions wherever possible to thwart illegal actions by that regime against the United States and American citizens. This includes banning the sale of U.S. land to Chinese owned, operated agricultural businesses or Chinese citizens with any connection to the CCP. The United States should review the requirements for student visas to Chinese nationals, and end the practice of birth tourism.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The United States relationship with Israel is important. Israel is the United States' eyes and ears in the region and has been instrumental in thwarting numerous terrorist attacks targeting American citizens in the region. Israel is also home to the origins of the Christian faith and is home to some of the most important sites in Christianity. With that being said, Israel should be buying weapons or other equipment from the United States and no country should just receive items for free.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Agree
While I agree with this statement generally, the CCP is a greater threat to our well-being. China is the world's largest theft of our intellectual property. Additionally, and more importantly possesses 60% of the world's supply of critical minerals and the United States is entirely reliant on China for 15 rare-earth minerals. China also holds approximately 90% of the refining capacity for all minerals. The United States must produce creative solutions to balance the playing field in our favor.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
As the son of two legal immigrants, this question is personal for me. Legal immigrants can and do add to the American economy, pay taxes, and assimilate. Immigrants hold a large presence in particular industries, particularly in agriculture. Farm work is hard work and there simply enough Americans to complete that work. I am a proponent of H-2A visa program as it is temporary, fills an economic need for the U.S. and immigrants are vetted before they enter the U.S.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Illegal aliens give legal immigrants a bad name. They skip the line and sneak into this country, unvetted, and most with good intentions but some with very evil intentions. A country in not sovereign if it does not control its borders. President Trump has closed the border effectively but more work can be done. I fully support ICE and its work to capture and deport illegal aliens regardless of their criminal status. American has a path to citizenship and it must be enforced and respected.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Despite a $79B budget, a majority of children are not meeting proficiency benchmarks in reading and math, yet most students are passed on to the next grade and eventually graduate high school, not prepared for college or the workforce. Simply put, our education system is failing and I feel that states are better equipped to educate our children. Parents will have a larger voice in their children's learning, accountability for failing schools, and an ability to course correct as needed.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
Foreign governments have no place in the classroom or footing the bill to educate the next generation of Americans, full stop. I supported Republicans' actions in Congress to remove Confucius Institutes and other foreign-maligned organizations from our classrooms and campuses. American children should be receiving the best education in the world, free from outside interference and influence.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
I complete agree and believe that this is not only illegal but also immoral. Children are children and should be left to grow and mature into adults. Children should not be forced to make adult, life-altering, and irreversible changes and bullying, coaching, or instructing a child to "transition" is child abuse. I will never support the transiting of children and will always fight for children's innocence in Congress.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
As a Catholic, the union between one man and one woman is sacred and ordained by God. It is clearly laid out in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Later Jesus, repeats this scared truth in Matthew 19:6, "So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As I have mentioned, I am a practicing and devout Catholic. My spiritual beliefs are anchored in the teaching of Jesus Christ and the seven sacraments, baptism, eucharist, confirmation, reconciliation, anointing of the sick, matrimony, and holy orders. I believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. My values are rooted in these teachings and the principles of the sanctity of human life, care for the poor and vulnerable, and common-good and stewardship.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Despite what some may say, the bar to attain a photo ID is very low. Americans should be able to trust in the electoral process and the results. Voter ID can and will provide Americans the trust they require. Additionally, elections for federal office should be hand counted without machines, further strengthening Americans trust.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Title IX was a landmark law passed to protect women and provide them full and equal participation in sports. This law has been twisted to allow man to compete against woman. The fact of the matter is that men and women are different and allowing men to compete with women, harms women both physically and their ability to truly compete. Men have no place in women's bathrooms, this is a direct threat to the safety of women. I will fight to protect women in sports and their locker rooms.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear power can and will provide the increased supply that the U.S. needs now and in the foreseeable future. But, I am not opposed to all power sources that work, is reliable, and cost effective for consumers.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No, I have not.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No, I have not.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
While I am a strong conservation, I understand that in order to get legislation passed, you must not only work with fellow Republicans but also with people who you do not agree with. I will work with all of my colleagues in Congress but I will never go against the values of the people of Wyoming.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Children are our future, greatest asset, and they should be protected at all costs. Congress has worked in the area to address this issue and I will alway support policies that protect children.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None, I believe the best protection for public safety is an armed law-abiding citizen.
