QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I don't want taxpayer money paying for abortions but I am open to funding healthcare services that help low income women and families. I support keeping the federal rules that already prohibit direct federal funding for abortions through the Hyde Amendment. Federal money must be restricted to preventive healthcare.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion policy now rests with voters and individual states, creating opportunities for citizens to support compassionate exceptions for rape, incest, and situations where the mother’s life is in danger. At the same time, we should work to reduce the demand for abortion by expanding preventative healthcare, improving prenatal and maternal support, and reforming the adoption system. I believe every human life has inherent dignity and value and should be protected from beginning to end.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Human life has inherent value and should be protected from conception until natural death. Because life begins at conception, unborn children possess moral worth and deserve legal protection. However, exceptions may be warranted in cases of rape, incest, or when the pregnancy seriously endangers the mother’s life

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos that were created artificially should be treated with dignity and not casually destroyed. On the other hand fertility treatments like IVF should remain legal and accessible.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Agree

While additional abortion regulations may be appropriate, using the Comstock Act to prohibit abortion pills exceeds its proper scope. Any national policy on this issue should be clarified legislatively by Congress rather than inferred through judicial interpretation or executive action.”

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I believe in the adage, “honest pay for an honest day’s work.” That said, I strongly believe free-market capitalism is the most effective way to lift people out of poverty.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

I believe free enterprise and the right to private property are essential foundations of a strong and prosperous society. Free enterprise encourages innovation, rewards hard work, and creates opportunities for individuals and businesses to succeed. The right to private property protects personal freedom and gives people the ability to build security, invest in their future, and pass opportunities on to the next generation.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Commitment Act is an ineffective cap-and-invest scheme that imposes a hidden gas tax of .52 to .57 cents per gallon at the pump. Generating over 4.3 billion dollars, it disproportionately burdens working families while failing environmentally. Private charitable foundations and local community organizations administer to social needs in a far more positive, efficient, and cost-effective manner. We need to eliminate duplication, inefficient programs and the states overreach.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The phrase "separation of church and state" was never intended to banish faith from government, but rather to protect religious freedom by preventing the establishment of a single national church. Faith positively influences personal values and public life.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Individuals and businesses should generally not be forced by the government to violate sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. At the same time, businesses that serve the public have a responsibility to treat customers fairly and respectfully. A balanced approach should protect religious freedom while also ensuring that people are not denied essential services or subjected to unjust discrimination.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B. Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available as an option for all Americans who want it, while preserving the freedom to choose private healthcare coverage. A strong healthcare system can support both public and private options, expanding access, encouraging competition, and protecting individual choice

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I support using health data to better understand healthcare costs and improve treatment efficiency, but any government database involving medical conditions must have strong privacy protections, limited access, transparency, and safeguards against misuse. The government should collect only the minimum data necessary and ensure citizens’ personal freedoms and medical privacy are protected.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party poses real military, cyber security, intellectual property, and economic threats to the United States. We must take these challenges serious by strengthening American competitiveness, securing our supply chains, defending our technological leadership, and standing firmly with our allies. America’s response should be tough, smart, and focused on protecting our national interests without escalating unnecessary conflict.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The relationship between the United States and Israel is important because Israel is one of America’s strongest and most reliable democratic allies in the Middle East. The partnership supports U.S. national security interests, intelligence sharing, military cooperation, and regional stability. Israel also shares many of our core values, including democracy, individual freedoms, and the rule of law A balanced approach strengthens both countries and helps protect long term American interests.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Disagree

I support enforcing immigration laws and recognize that sanctuary policies can limit cooperation with federal authorities. At the same time, undocumented immigrants are often more willing to report crimes and cooperate with local law enforcement when they are not living in fear of deportation. A practical compromise is needed — one that strengthens border security and upholds legal immigration processes while also balancing public safety, economic realities, local control, and compassion.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I believe states, local school districts, and parents often understand student needs better than Washington, and I support reducing federal bureaucracy and giving communities more control over education. However, I’m concerned that fully abolishing this Department could disrupt student aid, weaken protections for students with disabilities, reduce support for low-income schools, and increase inequality between wealthy and poor districts. Safeguards must be established to protect equal education

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

International cooperation is fine, but foreign governments shouldn’t gain political leverage, shape American values, or compromise national security.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well being as broadly consistent with values like parent responsibility, local control, and limited government involvement in family decisions. Parents should have a strong and primary voice in raising their children. Government institutions should be cautious about overriding families.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

Protecting vulnerable minors from irreversible, life-altering medical interventions is not a political issue; it is a matter of basic medical ethics and clinical caution.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Historically, marriages fell under the jurisdiction of the churches. It wasn’t until 1929 that every state in the union required a marriage license. This was largely a revenue stream for individual states. Government should not be in the business of regulating marriage.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Agree

Adults should be allowed to spend their money how they choose, as long as it’s regulated and legal. Washington residents already gamble online, travel to casinos, or use offshore betting platforms.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in personal responsibility, compassion, and treating people with respect. My personal and public life is rooted in “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The world would be a better place if everyone embraced this great commandment.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

The question suggests that we need to return to the 60's where we all stood in line. Since Washington State is a mail in ballot state the question should be how do we ensure voter integrity. Technology innovations are transforming how elections are conducted, making them more secure, accessible, and transparent. I am committed to using any tool or protocol which guarantees fair and honest elections.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

Individuals should be held accountable for their own behavior and not be punished or receive benefits from actions taken from previous generations. Where systemic racism has had a negative effect, the answer is not in reparations but in education. Providing quality education to all communities empowers them to thrive in this great country of opportunity. I have proven results in this area.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Disagree

I was part of the generation who fought for title IX and am a strong supporter of women.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

Many of the catastrophic productions have never come to fruition. Therefore, many politicians have abandoned this issue. As a conservative, I am also a conservationist meaning I believe in caring for the world around me and feel a responsibility to be a good steward of our resources.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear power is the most reliable long-term answer, while natural gas is the most practical short-term answer for meeting rapidly growing electricity demand. We must invest in next generation storage and reactors and continues to build renewables.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I consider myself conservative. As a school board director, I voted against including sex education in the school curriculum because I believe that, with limited educational resources and instructional time, schools should prioritize core academic subjects such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. I also believe that moral values and sex education are best taught at home by parents.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The justice system should protect innocent people first, punish serious wrongdoing fairly, and rehabilitate offenders when it genuinely helps reduce future crime and strengthen communities. The law should be apply consistently regardless of class, race, or political influence.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

I strongly support protecting minors from predators, trafficking, grooming and exploitative content. We need tougher enforcement against offenders, including stronger penalties for exploitative crimes. We need to hold technology companies more accountable for moderation, reporting and child safety tools.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Agree

People are free to practice their religion, as religious freedom is a fundamental constitutional right. At the same time, everyone in the United States must follow the law equally under the Constitution. I oppose any state-enforced religious legal system, including interpretations of Sharia law, when it conflicts with constitutional protections such as free speech, equal protection under the law, or freedom of religion.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership is a constitutional right enjoyed by law abiding citizens. We need to enhance penalties for those with criminal backgrounds, the mentally ill or those who threaten schools, churches and the vulnerable. Parents do have a responsibility to keep their guns locked in a gun safe.
