QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Disagree
At no time should the State have a say over a woman’s autonomy.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Disagree
Embryos are not people.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
At the woman’s discretion.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Planned parenthood does considerably more than just provide abortions. This is a women’s health issue.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Disagree
The State has no business in this area.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
A regulated economy is required for both economic and societal stability.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Agree
I do not propose higher taxes simply because it can be afforded. I propose higher taxes for those using a system that they do not pay into at all.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
Budgeting needs to be triage based. Doing the most good for the most people.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Eliminate privatization of warfare. Limit lobbying of government officials to eliminate spending on programs of perceived necessity. Focus on programs that retirn a net gain for the economy thereby increasing tax revenue.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
A business license is a compact with society that should insure that everyone is treated fairly.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means the government should not be permitted to have a quasi-official religion and tax exempt religious leaders should not be permitted to endorse any governmental function.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
E. There should be universal healthcare that is completely funded by the federal government with the option for people to purchase additional coverage if they wish to do so.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
HIPPA. Privacy is paramount and the cost for individual treatment should not be a data point when government decisions have effects on overall health.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
Normally, I would say A but right now, we need to focus on recovering the freedoms we have lost in this country such as Qualified Immunity making it almost impossible to bring suit when the government destroys your home, or Civil Forfeiture where they can just take your money, or when our elected officials can outright lie to the American People and no one bats an eye because it is what we have come to expect.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
China has been a behemoth for centuries with a rightful bone to pick with the West going back to the Opium Wars. They do questionable things. But I refuse to allow the Chinese to become the latest manufactured crisis that justifies a National Artificial Intelligence race when that race really is just to see who gets to destroy the world first.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
When both the US and Israel were actual democracies instead of what we have become, the relationship was as integral as the relationship between any two free countries should be. Now, not so much.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Neutral
“Anyone willing to give up freedom for security deserves neither.”
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Every country depends upon immigration to survive. We have laws regarding this process. Our current administration is breaking these laws. If an immigrant wants to come here, fill out the paperwork, and mean well, they should be welcomed.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Agree
Cities are where the rubber meets the road and at that level, they understand the importance of immigration. They should be allowed to do whatever is required to survive.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
There must be a National Standard that ensures that Americans can compete in a global economy.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Disagree
With the proviso that the education is purely for cultural understanding and not indoctrination.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Neutral
The government has no business in family matters except when it is forced on the child.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a witnessed contract between two people that want to make a life together. Any two people should be able to make this contract with full legal backing.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am not perfect. I try to follow the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Most days, I fail. But I try. And I’ll keep trying until I die.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Agree
You cannot place requirements on a right.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
There have been female Viking Warriors, Pirates, and Soldiers. Amazonian warriors actually existed. This issue needs to be explored before making reactive judgments.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear breeder reactors would be the best bet if not for N.I.M.B.Y. Wind, Solar, and Hydro are inconsistent while fossil fuels are slowly killing us all. The problem is that power transmission has a limited range. This can be solved.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Decisions should be based on actual facts and logic instead of propaganda and party platforms.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Parents have a bigger part in this. The government should be responsible for insuring that Parents can be present to do this on their own.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Federal background checks for all transfers. Universal Healthcare with psychological care that would identify individuals that should not own firearms.
