QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

For many people, abortion violates their religion. Tax dollars are fungible and therefore any use of them for abortion services is forcing people to violate there religion, even if they did not directly contribute to the funding.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Freedom comes at a cost. Parents are free to chose their medical care including terminating a pregnancy. That decision should be within the first 6-12 weeks. That time is sufficient for a decision, while early enough the unborn child would not survive birth. Once an unborn child can survive birth abortion becomes murder, just as if a stranger killed the unborn child. My belief is abortion should only occur to save the life of the mother or in cases of forced pregnancy.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I agree within the confines of our Constitution. Currently states' laws vary widely across the country. If an action that results in the death of an unborn child against the will of the parents is a criminal act, then it must also be a criminal act if the death of the unborn child is caused by the parents. If the killing of an unborn child by a stranger is considered murder under state law, then it must also be considered murder if the parents kill the inborn child.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

The Supreme Court of the United States decision in Dobbs v. Jackson resulted in States determining abortion laws and they are very different across the country. Allowing abortion-inducing drugs to be transported into a state that does not allow abortion is allowing one state to circumvent the laws of another.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I am opposed to a minimum wage. The market will determine the minimum wage needed for a business to remain profitable while also attracting and retaining the level of talent required in the employee.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

National Level: Yearly audits of voter data. Failure of the audit results in cuts to government funding. National Level: Universities receiving funding for research must match the funding and cover all administrative costs of the research. State Level: Performance based funding, the better the performance the less chance of funding being cut. State Level: Independent audits of all spending (DOGE) and in particular Medicaid State & Federal Level: No benefits those in the country illegally.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

James Madison & Alexander Hamilton discuss this concept in the Federalist Papers (10 & 84). The government should not impose religious beliefs on it citizens. That does not mean the government cannot recognize the role faith has played in out country. It means all are free to practice their religion or lack of religion without government interference.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

A business should be required to provide their services until doing so would violate one's freedom of religion. At that point the Constitutional protections of religious freedom outweigh the requirement to provide services. The has been upheld may times by SCOTUS.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Option A has been tried throughout the world with poor results. Option B has also been tried and resulted multiple increases in healthcare costs. Option C will have to be modified because of the Country's debt. Option D is too extreme. My choice is free market competition across state lines, with government healthcare for the small percent of those who have no other option, which would be about 5%-10% of the population. The less government involvement in healthcare, the better.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Agree

I agree only if this is data that cannot be tied to an individual. It can only have age, sex, race and medical diagnosis/treatment. No information that can be reversed to identify the person.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Just read history, no further explanation is needed.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, the relationship is important because Israel is the only democracy-like government in the Middle East. Additionally it is vital for military operations in that part of the world and for terrorism intelligence. In recent decades, Israel has become a high tech center of innovation especially in regards to military technology. This is also vital for the United States.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

There is no such term as undocumented persons. A person is lawfully admitted to this country through various means, or is an alien also known as undocumented alien who is in the country without legal authorization. Sanctuary cities encourage unlawful behavior and consequently endanger communities. We are a nation of laws and a nation of borders.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

The Department of education was created Under the Carter Administration in 1979. The four key functions can all be done at the State level. Let the States determine their educational systems and benefit or suffer from the consequences.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

The educational system in the United States has always been a target of the former USSR (Russia) and PRC (China) to infiltrate institutions, steal intellectual property, engage in espionage and attempt to influence political power. This has been well documented in declassified intelligence.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Medical research is showing this practice has no scientific basis and has resulted in permanent harm that cannot be reversed. The future will look back on this time period the way we look back at witchcraft in the 17th century.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Government should not be in the business of marriage. If the government wants to convey the same legal protections for same sex relationships it can. Marriage should be defined as a religious union between a man and a woman. Anything else is a civil union that may be granted the same legal protections, but not the same religious acceptance.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support gambling.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

There is overwhelming scientific physical and recorded evidence of Jesus and many aspects of the Bible. There is much recorded evidence of life beyond the physical body. I believe there is a consciousness beyond the physical realm that extends after death and is beyond our understanding, and thus requires faith that it exists.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Our entire society requires identification for so many activities because of a history of abuse and fraud for those activities. Voting is no different.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be give to people who can prove monetary harm from those people who did the monetary harm. I am pretty sure all involved died generations ago.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

If a man wants to impersonate a woman, that is his business but others should not be forced to engage in his fantasy. The same is true of a woman who wants to pretend to be a man. People can have surgery to change their appearance but they cannot change biological characteristics of their gender which extend to different brain wave patterns for the same stimuli, different internal organs, different bone density and muscle mass, etc.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

Science has not determined that humans have been able to change climate. Probably the best example is during Covid when the entire planet just about stopped activity associated with climate change theories and there was no measurable consequence. This does not mean we should ignore poor environmental practice. There is at least a 500 year supply of fossil fuels so humanity will technologically evolve to a more sustainable future, but at a pace that does not harm society.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear energy is likely the only energy source capable of meeting the expected demand of technology, specifically AI data centers, at a price that is sustainable.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Like to or not, we have a Constitutional Republic based upon the United State Constitution. We must abide by its contents and judicial interpretation.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No. I had a 31 year career in the Los Angeles Police Department and consequently had numerous background checks throughout my career.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No. I had a 31 year career in the LAPD, any arrest or conviction would have ended it.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal should be the protection society from people who harm society through their behavior that is deemed criminal.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Parents should protect their children but that is not always possible for many reasons and therefore our government must also be involved if needed because children are a nation's future. Without children a nation will not exist. This does not mean censorship of online activities. It means investigation and prosecution of criminal behavior that exploits children.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The United States does not recognize any religion as law and doing so violates the First Amendment.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Guns should have the same standing as books, and speech. You don't need a permit or training course to possess books or to publicly speak. Only when possession of a firearm poses an immediate threat to society should there be restrictions on that possession. Even those who have committed crimes and completed their punishment in full (no probation, parole, etc.) should be allowed to have a firearm . The First Amendment cannot be denied for life so how can we deny the Second Amendment for life?
