QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

Having many family members in the medical field, I am an advocate of palliative care. Providing patients and families the information to understand complex diagnosis to make well informed decisions on their treatment plan and future medical wishes.

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

None

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

I am hope-full that adding financial literacy to Florida curriculum will help curtail the unnecessary debt. I am a strong advocate for Industry Certifications and Career and technical education that allows students to earn a focused relevant education that equates to employment and professional success with little or no debt.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

In Florida, districts primary funding source is the state legislature. In 2019 the legislature implemented Family Empowerment Scholarships allowing families school choice.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

As many say, “as long as there are tests in school, there will be prayer.” I feel that religious education is my responsibility as a parent and I do not want a teacher or administrator directing my child in their faith as it may not align with my families.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Disagree

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

Having detailed policies and a clear discipline plan outlined in the Code of Student Conduct and applying them consistently is imperative. We implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports(MTSS) before escalating to suspensions, while enforcing strict zero tolerance policies for weapons, drugs and major offenses.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

Florida Statute support this by requiring a Civics course and end of course exam.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

This is a complex issue at this point; as a Constitutionalist, education is not outlined as a federal department. There would need to be a very detailed strategic plan to eliminate as so many federal programs have been put into place. Title funds are implemented for pre-k, reading, breakfast and lunch programs etc.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

School board members in Florida must primarily with Statute requiring specific curriculum, that said parents have always been offered an opt out option for sex Ed.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

The primary course is not listed here; reading is number one for young students so they may participate as curriculum advances. I am a huge supporter of Industry certifications and career and technical education, providing a well balanced curriculum so that students can become lifelong learners, obtain a focused relevant education to become productive members of society. Bottom line, the priority of subjects is individual to the students academic capabilities and interests.

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Agree

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Agree

I am a business major so I believe in competition in the market place. Our district has always provided support to home school families to be successful. A level playing field is important.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian who believes in the trinity-God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that humanity receives salvation through faith and God’s grace.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Agree

Absolutely, and along with every right comes responsibilities.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Agree

As a military family; the United States Military is the most diverse organization in the country, we have met stellar, professional, dedicated people and some not so stellar of all backgrounds. The content of a persons character is of utmost importance.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Agree

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Neutral

I am neutral in my position as I swore an oath to uphold the constitution of the State of Florida. Therefore our district policies; 4.22 and 4.21 comply house bill 1467. These policies outline allowed materials and allow parents to restrict their child’s access to media materials at levels ranging from “unlimited” to “no access”.

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Only United States citizens with proper identification should have voting privileges.
