QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
life is sacred
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
K-12 schools should not be involved in reproductive health. This is a parental situation for children under 13. Children over 13 should be directed to family physicians.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Government should not stand in the way of the freedom to pursue the ability of its people to live as they see fit. There are exceptions for the people with special circumstances. Government regulations of personal property and businesses is restrictive to our free market economy.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The Ten Commandments should be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Agree
Freedom of religious expression is a basic principle of our founding. Christianity, in particular, was influential in forming our constitutional rights.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Agree
NATIONAL SECURITY
I support boycott, divestment, and/or sanctions (BDS) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Strongly Disagree
I stand with Israel.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Neutral
Strong military action is a good way but maybe not the best way. I do not believe in prolonged foreign wars. I think that diplomacy can be a good first step. I have taken a neutral position because I feel that we should trust the founders constitutional requirement of the federal government to protect our nation.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
As I am running for the position of C.U. Regent, this is a difficult question. The Colorado constitution put into statute the oversight of Colorado University because they wanted accountability. I believe the U.S. Department of Education was created to provide more oversight, instead, it has become an instrument of regulation and usurping local control. I wish that the U.S. Department of Education would be more judicial in its actions, and leave the schools mostly under local control.
I support taxpayer funding of public education from Pre-K through college.
Agree
One of my main goals as a C.U. Regent, is to address the affordability of higher education. I was concerned as of 04/16/2026 when the C.U. Regents voted to raise tuition for new incoming students. I believe in taxpayer funding of education, but would like to see more physical priorities for lowering tuition. As an aside, I feel that something must be done about the student loan programs, and viable university degrees. As a C.U. Regent, I would strive to make college more attainable.
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts (reading and writing), Mathematics, Science, Vocational Learning (homemaking skills including finance/budget prep.), History (American and World), Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Civics, Information Technology, These are the subjects that I consider to be important, but I also believe that socialization skills should also be taught (time management, discipline, and civility).
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities.
VALUES
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows, explicit materials in schools and libraries, and other public venues.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
I believe in covenant marriage. I believe that government's role in marriage should be as nonintrusive as possible. Marriage is between two people and should be as legally simple as possible.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parental rights are under attack in today's society. Family should be supported and respected. Let children be children.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and have been since I was a small child. I have a strong prayer life and belong to a prayer group. My grandmother was the daughter of a Methodist preacher, and she passed her values on to me. One of my strongest values is family.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I believe that sexual education is a local/community value, and should only be taught with signed parental consent forms.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I.D. is required for all sorts of societal organized structures. Identification is required for the purchase of liquor/marijuana, mortgages and loans, and Social Security/Medicare enrollment just to mention a few. Identification has become more and more important as to two source verification is now common. Voting is very important and should require I.D. verification.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
