QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
When the life/health of the mother or other fetus is at risk. Incest. Rape
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Neutral
I haven't researched this fully. I tend to agree with this.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Disagree
In the case of invest or rape, these drugs may be less trauma inducing
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I don’t support a one size fits all federal minimum wage, especially large jumps that ignore local economies. I recognize rising costs, but wages should reflect local conditions, and small businesses must be protected from sudden shocks.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
**Top 5 Ways I'll Cut Government Waste:** 1. **Audit first** — no new spending until existing programs prove they work 2. **Defat education admin** — redirect overhead dollars to classrooms 3. **Consolidate agencies** — one office shouldn't do what three already do 4. **Cut costly regulations** — if enforcement costs more than it saves, it goes 5. **Fight fraud with data** — it's literally my job, and I'm bringing it to the legislature *Measure everything. Justify everything. Cut the rest.* **
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
My faith shapes my character. The Constitution shapes my votes. I don't confuse the two and neither should government. Limited government means staying out of your church AND your living room. Faith informs my values but in the legislature I represent everyone equally under the law. That is not a compromise of my beliefs. That is the very definition of American freedom.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The same principle that protects your right to vote protects a business owner's right to operate by their conscience. You cannot claim to believe in individual freedom and then carve out exceptions when it gets inconvenient. The free market is the right mechanism here. A business that refuses service will answer to its customers and its bottom line. That accountability is real. Government compulsion creates more conflict than it resolves.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
**Answer: C, with a caveat.** Medicaid and Medicare exist and people depend on them. I respect that reality. But I draw a hard line at expansion. Before adding any new program we audit what we have and prove it works. Government healthcare grows in one direction only. The long term goal is market driven care where competition controls costs and individuals control decisions. *Government as safety net, not healthcare provider.*
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. Your medical records belong to you, not the government. A database like this is surveillance dressed up as policy. Today it is economic assessment. Tomorrow it is denial of care, employment discrimination, or worse. I fight to keep voter data private. Medical data is no different. Government has no business cataloguing your health history for any reason. *Your body, your data, your business. Full stop.*
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, absolutely. Israel is our strongest democratic ally in the most volatile region on earth. That relationship is strategic, moral, and proven. They share our intelligence, our values, and our commitment to a rules based world order. Supporting Israel is not just foreign policy. It is a statement about what kind of country we are and what kind of allies we keep. *Strong alliances keep America strong.*
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Disagree
No, with a caveat. Sanctuary cities undermine federal law and create uneven enforcement that erodes public trust. Laws mean nothing if we pick and choose which ones apply. That said, legitimate asylum seekers deserve protection while their cases are processed. That is not sanctuary policy, that is basic human decency and existing law. Proven violent offenders get no shield. Period. Community safety comes first, always. *Legal process yes. Blanket protection no.*
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Disagree
No, but reform it aggressively. Utah knows its students better than Washington does. The Department spends billions on bureaucracy that never reaches a classroom. Return control to states, redirect every dollar to teachers and students. My fight is not against education. It is against the bureaucracy strangling it. *Dismantle the bureaucracy, not the classroom.*
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Agree
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Choose not to answer
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Choose not to answer
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a person of faith. My beliefs are personal and deeply held, and I do not wear them as a political badge. What I will say is this: my faith shapes how I treat people, how I show up for my community, and why I believe every person deserves to be heard and represented fairly. In the legislature my job is to serve everyone equally. That is not despite my faith. It is because of it. *Values driven. People focused. Always.*
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Agree
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear, without question. Clean, reliable, and more powerful per square foot than any other source. It runs when sun does not shine and wind does not blow. Utah's growing population needs stable baseload power, not weather dependent solutions.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
Protection, accountability, redemption. Protect the community first. Violent offenders belong off the streets. Hold people accountable. Consequences deter future crime. Create a path back. Non violent offenders without treatment or job skills are just future defendants. That costs taxpayers more and solves nothing. *Safe communities, real consequences, a fighting chance.*
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
Agreed. Completely. The United States Constitution is the supreme law of this land. No religious legal system, foreign or domestic, supersedes it. That applies to Sharia law and equally to any other attempt to replace constitutional law with religious code. One nation. One legal framework. Non negotiable.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Background checks must be thorough and enforced. Mental health screening matters. Violent offenders and those adjudicated dangerously mentally ill should not have access to firearms. Beyond that, law abiding citizens have a constitutional right to own and carry. More restrictions on legal gun owners do not stop criminals. They never have. Enforce existing laws before adding new ones. *Protect the right. Remove the threat. In that order.*
